Gale Bertram is Red John! Gale is reference to a crater that looks like a smiley face on Mars. Bertram is a reference to him burning bright like a the tiger in the poem. Jane knows but needs Teresa to arrest him. He has been doing this to take apart the organization. He has been working at CIB because Bertram was there. Bertram didn't kill Teresa because it would have meant that it would have been more heat for him. Everything leads to Bertram. Galle is always calm and never loses temper. That has to be false. PJ knew it when he was going to shot him a few seasons ago.

I love how all of a sudden, after the last episode, all the nay-sayers are jumping on the Brett Partridge bandwagon..

Welcome all.... ;)

I think it is Brett Partridge now.  Here are my reasons why:
First of all, he is intelligent and so is Red John.  Why?  Because he is involved with forensics.  Forensics jobs take a lot of skill and intellect.  People with forensics probably have the knowledge to fake death.  In other words, Brett Partridge could fake his death.  He might have had an accomplice to help him look like Red John was murdering Brett Partridge.
Second, Brett Partridge voice is very similar to Red John's voice.  Don't believe me?  Watch  episodes season 2 episode 23 and season 6 episode 1 to find out.  In addition, Brett Partridge was in these episodes.  Coincidence?  I think not.
Third, Red John is probably in his 40's  and Brett Partridge is probably in his 40's too.  In fact, the actor who plays Brett Partridge is in his mid 40's.  In other words, Brett Partridge and Red John are middle age.
Fourth, Red John has been in the beginning of the Mentalist.  So has Brett Partridge too.
Fifth, Red John has straight hair and so does Brett Partridge.  In addition, the body type and height are probably a match.  Red John is not fat but not too skinny either and he is about average strength.  Brett Partridge probably matches that description.
Sixth, we have not seen a body of Brett Partridge or at least a funeral for  Brett Partridge yet.
Seventh, Red John is a creepy person and Patrick Jane thinks Brett Partridge is creepy.
Final reason, remember the scene with the pigeons.  The CSI does have pigeons in his house.  In season 6 episode 2, there was a woman feeding pigeons and in season 6 episode 3, a pigeon did scare Sheriff McAllister.  What if Red John's favorite bird is the pigeon?

Now let me give you reasons why the other suspects are not Red John:
First, Bob Kirkland died.  He was killed by Reede Smith.
Second, speaking of Reede Smith, he is too fat to be Red John.  Also, he is probably an accomplice of Red John.  Do you know who else could be an accomplice?  Gale Bertram and Sheriff McAllister.  In addition, Gale Bertram's hair style does not match the description of Red John because he is bald.  Also, Sheriff Mcallister and Gale Bertram are a bit too old for Red John.  Rosalind Harker was a lover of Red John and she is early middle age.  Do you think these two men would love Rosalind Harker?  I do not think so.  Furthermore, Sheriff Mcallister is not afraid of heights.  Red John is afraid of heights.
Third, do you know who else is too old for Red John?  Brett Stiles.  However, he could know who Red John is.  In addition, he maybe the father of Red John.
Fourth and final reason:  I originally thought it was Ray Haffner until I found out that he does not have the tattoo.  However, I am not ready to rule out Ray Haffner yet.  Why?  Because he is a good whistler and he does like Teresa Lisbon and so does Red John.  Otherwise, Red John would have killed her.  Another thing, Ray Haffner did appear in Teresa Lisbon's dream and he was the one who hit her.  In addition, he is middle age and is average strength.  Furthermore, he does have straight hair and is a member of Visualize and so is Red John.  Also, what if it was an accomplice that did Red John's dirty work at the end of the episode "The Red Tattoo"?  Remember, Red John is pretty intelligent and he can fool Jane and the audience who watch the mentalist.

Overall, I am thinking it is Brett Partridge but I am not ready to rule out Ray Haffner.  If Ray Haffner does not survive the explosion, then I rule out Ray Haffner.  If Brett Partridge appears again, it confirms my theory.  Anyway, please comment and critique on this theory.  I would appreciate it.

It may seem far fetched but when she called Jane a lamb I couldn't resist biting the bait.

Red John kills anyone and everyone he goes after, except Hightower.

I could be horribly wrong, who knows right?

Today I happened to revisit the description of Red John by Rosalind Harker (Red John's blind lover) as "Just under 6 feet tall. Not muscular but not soft, either. Short straight hair... a gentle voice. Rough, strong hands."

So I looked at the final 7 suspects and their actors' heights. Assuming that each character is as tall as the actor who plays them, Gale Bertram is 6"3,

Ray Haffner is 6"1 and

Reede Smith 6"3. This rules them out as even a blind lady is not going to mistake being taller than 6 foot as being 'just under'.

Sherriff Macalister is 6"¾
so it depends on how good you think Rosalind's estimation skills are as to whether or not he's ruled out, but I'm putting my faith in Rosalind and ruling him out too.

Bret Stiles is 5"7 and Bob Kirkland is 5"9 both of which are fairly short heights for men - you'd hardly describe a man who is 5"9 as 'just under 6 feet tall'.

That leaves Brett Partridge, who is 5"11 - the perfect height to match Rosalind's description.

Yes, I know he's supposedly dead, but the age fits, the height fits, the voice fits, the 'showman' aspect fits, he seems to pop up on every Red John copycat case, and he was in the same scene as the guy with the grim reaper tattoo in the pilot - I can't help but expect Partridge to be revealed as Red John.

The golden rule of movies: Until you see them die they're not dead. Kirkland is definitely not it because we saw him die. The person being one of the three with dots is too easy, too convenient, I suspect that they are simply members of the "Tyger Tyger" movement. Haffner and Stiles are innocent.

My prediction as to the chain of events (past and future):

Past:
Brett Partridge is Red John. He fakes his death, in front of lisbon, and cuts a vein in his belly to make himself bleed and pulls all this stuff to convince Patrick that he is dead and remove him from the list. Now that he's dead he's free to murder a lot more "as he planed". Little does he know, this is exactly what Patrick was expecting. The first to die would be Red John and he is continuing this charade to lure Red John out of hiding, knowing full well that Partridge will not be able to resist gloating over Patrick when he chooses the "wrong" person.

Future:
Patrick is fully aware of the Tyger Tyger movement and probably knows exactly who is in it. In this next episode he will lay the foundation to destroy the movement and continue his charade to get Partridge into the opening. Jane will go through another charade, claiming that he knows that Red John would not have the dots blahblahblah and will then proceed to accuse stiles and shoot him. Stiles will be in on the gag and will probably be wearing some sort of bullet proof material (this is the shot we hear at the end.) and Red John will appear thinking that Jane is out of ammo and gloat blahblahblah. Not sure where the building explosion comes in but I think everyone knows how this ends. With Jane shooting Red John with the pistol tucked in his pants, the one given to him specifically for revenge.
