The biggest evidence beside the obvious mole aspect is the fact that Rj didnt kill lisbon. On top of that ever wonder why Rj didnt kill lisbon all along? I mean he killed a memory jane had from childhood and not lisbon? The only explanation is that red john is van pelt and van pelt loves lisbon. I know haffner is another way to go about this specific theory but he doesnt have the balls to be red john lol we all know that
I know this sounds crazy but hear me out. She started the same day jane did. Shook his hand and later called him a sad godless man. She may be red johns daughter or he had a sex change since he is a little crazy. Grace had dated two killers thus far. Bad luck? She is savvy with computers and red john always hacks only her computer! The show seems to show her facial expression more than others and we know how important they are in this show. Especially the time jane is crying and she is smiling. She is into the occult and doesnt believe in jane. We know nothing of her past and if you notice there is something bothering her this season. You can read it on her face when she meets with styles. When rigsby says i love u she replies " i know". Van pelt red john. Red hair . Access to jane and cbi. I also have a hunch that jane knows she is red john and made the list to trick her. Telling lisbon knowing well she would tell van pelt. He is playing chess and winning. Red john wants to take out the tiger tiger people thus why patrick is using them to make the TIGRESS come out of her den and reveal herself. Its a twist and this show is known for them. Watch episode one season 1 and tell me what you think? I also have a theory styles is both her and janes father and why patrick tells styles " i am not your boy".
We already know that Red John is one of the suspects on the list. It's been said already and spoiled so it's not anyone else. We also know that Red John IS the leader of the TT group. Those are the two things that we know for sure.
I don't know why people hate the list so much. It's down to 5 and we still can't figure out who it is. It will be down another three or two next episode and we STILL won't be able to know for sure who it is. The list is a safety net. I like the list...it means that they can't pull red john out of their asses..for example it won't be Kristina Fry ..thank GOD..who wants Red John to be Kristina Fry?....because I don't.
It can't be Laroche either because lets face it he is worse than Reede. Yes Reede is bad but the rest aren't. They are great contenders. Bertram, Haffner they make sense. Stiles is old but he feeds the conspiracy that Red John is a group of people. Partridge died and people still think he is coming back. The list is a good idea. I mean Ellis Mars was the oddest person in the show and who would want him as Red John.
Accept the list people....Accept that RH's account of Red John can be flawed and time has past. Accept what we have seen of Red John ourselves as evidence.
He is one of the 7 so start figuring out who he is from the list. Tv Guide wouldn't lie would they?
My final choices are still Bertram. If I had to choose a second I would choose Haffner.
In S01E02, sheriff McAllister first meets PJ.
PJ finds out that the killer they're looking for (in this particular episode) is abducting redhead girls in order to rape them.
He tells Van Pelt to go near the crime scene alone (but with a camera and a wire so the team can watch her) to attract the suspect.
First person to show up is not PJ's guess but McAllister ! He offers a ride to Van Pelt because the last events prooved that this area was "dangerous" and she kindly refuses (because she wants to catch the rapist and assumes that McAllister isn't him).
But then something very odd happens, the sheriff really insists on driving her home.. In such an intense, almost violent, way that rigsby runs towards McAllister to protect Van Pelt.
And later on PJ catches his original guess who turns out to be the killer.
It feels that this really strange moment where you could almost consider McAllister as a killer trying to attract his "prey" was forgotten.
So my theory is : McAllister is RJ and Van Pelt was supposed to be his victim in this episode.
He had no idea he was being filmed. You can really distinguish a mean look on his face.
You should check this episode out, because you can definitely see that McAllister is trying to abduct Van Pelt and that is some relevant evidence.

in a fresh spoiler i have read that the real RJ is one of the 7 suspects!!!!!!
in the promo of 6/7 there is 3 photo on the wall in the CBI office, possibly because the other two (gale bertram and reede smith) died in jane's house at the end of 6/6.
please consider that RJ is IN the 7.... therefore macallister seems to be the only one who has the tatto and still alive...
In the Original Script of the Pilot Episode, Virgil Menelli's Character in the Script was named RJ Patel, he was Hiller's Choice to be Red John , after season 1 he was too obvious as the number 1 suspect, or it could be because the actor left the Mentalist to be in 24 , but the original plan was to have the CBI boss as Red John , guess what the plan hasn't changed only the Actor , in season 3 Bruno created a new Position"CBI director" and then Enters Bertram who is basically Menilli 2.0 or lets call him Red John 2.0 , this is my logical deduction of who will be revealed as Red John.
