Hey,
I'm now more certain than ever that it's Kirkland whether it be Michael or Bob. Who knows whether it was Bob or Michael who was killing the fake suspects, but I think it was Bob who was killing the fake suspects.
Their be no reason for Michael if he's Red John to kill them and torture them if he already knew he was Red John.
Let's narrow down the clues to what we know about Red John:
1. Just under 6 feet tall
2. Not muscular but not soft
3. Short straight hair
4. Rough strong hands and smelt of pine, nails and dirt. With a soft spoken voice
Kirkland practically ticks all of these, plus if Michael owned the shed with garden tools etc which it clearly had, this would be the smell.
Right Lorelei goes on to say this:
"God! You're just like him. Relentless manipulation, I'm surprised you two didn't become lifelong friends the moment you shook hands."
Rebecca also says:
"You're just like him you know, how you read people and see straight through people, spooky!"
Kirkland as shown some skill for this. Just before he kills Lennon he asks him if he remembers anything, then when he mentions Lorelei Kirkland says this:
"Good, your mind is clear, now I have a really important question for you Jason. Have you seen me before? Do you recognize me?"
Lennon answers no. Which Kirkland seems somewhat relieved about, before he kills him. I reckon he killed him, not because he wanted Red John for himself, but because the man who killed Lennon was Michael/Red John and didn't want Jane to get him to remember. So he's capable of killing.
Also, when talking to Lisbon, he says his family travelled a lot first for his Dad's then for his Mums. So he could have worked on the carnival and that's where Red John and Jane met and therefore shook hands.
Then we know according to Sophie Miller Jay Roth had a phobia of some sort, whatever this may be Kirkland has never shown any phobia yet. Not to say that he doesn't have one. She said he was middle aged Bob and Michael are both 44 years of age. She said he had no family, yet he could just not want to acknowledge his brother.
He's an excellent whistler, neither Kirkland have shown this, but who's to say he isn't. We know "Bob" is dead.
Other clues:
1. Beard, no beard in some episodes.
2. Beard on his suspect photograph, but using Bob's name.
3. He watched his own mother kill herself with a razor blade, is this why Red John kills his women victims in the way that he does?
4. Met a savior a man that could help him, Stiles? How Red John become Red John and a member of Visualise?
5. What immortal hand or eye could frame thy fearful symmetry. How more symmetrical can you get then twins?
6. Addresses Jane has Patrick just like Red John, the same with Lisbon.
I personally think Kevin Corrigan is perfect for the role of Red John, he fits him like a glove. His murderous eyes, his expression, his personality. Bruno Heller if you haven't thought of all this, then you're not the genius I thought you were! I think it's amazing!
