As others have mentioned Haffner is the closest of the final seven to being a parallel to Jane...They both like Lisbon and are on a first name basis with her...They are both fit, handsome and look young for their age...both dress well at all times...both seldom let their emotions get the best of them...same height....same build...same natural charm...

If you met the seven suspects at a party he's the last one you would think was a criminal...that would be important for Red John... He would need to seduce his marks without giving off any warning signals....

Somehow him and Lorelei as lovers just feels right...The Hafner and Lorelei relationship being a parallel to Lisbon and Jane...Could you see any of the other suspects as lovers to Lorelei ? Realistically ?

Hafner is neither muscular nor scrawny nor fat....He fits the description of the blind woman to a tee...much more than any other final suspect

Hafner is affiliated with two of the most powerful organizations in California...The CBI and Visualize...

The CBI gives him access to powerful people in law enforcement...and gave him training in techniques to cover up crimes....Remember RJ's first crime when he was still making mistakes ? Was this before Haffner became a police officer ?

Haffner was a member of Visualize before he joined CBI...this gave him training in psychological manipulation....He's the only suspect with a probable tie to The Red Barn murders...Lisbon asks him if he was involved in the murders...He gives a very cryptic answer...

Animals were tortured and kiled at the Red Barn farm...Animal mistreatment is often a precursor to a man becoming a serial killer...Ray is the only suspect with known link to the Red Barn...

Ray Haffner offered Lisbon a position with his organization in season 5....Was that organization a front for Tyger Tyger ?

His time with Visualize would give him experience in starting a cult...Perfect for starting an organization like Tyger Tyger...

Jane only reveals his true self to one person....Lisbon...Haffner only reveals certain facts about himself ( like being a Visualize member ) to one person we know of....Lisbon...

Brett Stiles somehow has knowledge of the fate of Kristina Frye....How ? Through his contacts at Visualize ?  Ray Hafner is the only known Visualize member among the final seven other than Stiles himself...
 
Ray is an expert in surveillance....This would explain how RJ is always half a step ahead of Jane...How he knows about the final seven suspects...How he almost seems to be psychic....If Jane is deficient in one area it is modern technology....This would give RJ a needed edge against an intellectual equal...

Remember the video of Lorelei ? This is someone who is tech-savvy...

Maybe he's too obvious...but maybe he's like the Purloined Letter in the Edgar Allen Poe story....An answer that standing in front of our face the whole time...

The one thing that really bugs me is that in S06E01 it's like Lisbon is getting pulled by someone below her. And the only one who was on the ground in that moment was Brett Partridge.

The reason why this bugs me is because Brett Partridge is supposed to be killed by Red John.

This could be the biggest mind trick by Red John in this season.

And one last thing, it's really mean by CBS to postpone the episode for a whole week..

I know that the writers said that the Fire and Brimstone episode showed a "darker" side to Jane but to me, it was out of character for Jane.  So many times during the series Jane has been planning or thinking something different to what it appears.  The reason it seems out of character is because did Jane REALLY expect Red John to walk into his trap?  Red John is always one step ahead and I think Jane knows this.  Therefore, Jane, knowing that Red John would see it as a trap wouldn't show up but in some way he knows this will flush out the real Red John.  This is why I favor Partridge as coming back from the dead.  

Does anybody really think the Bertrum, Smith or McCallister is Red John.  Those guys are too bumbling and slow.  Red John is calculated, smooth and precise.  I've wondered if Red John would even turn out to NOT even be someone on the list.  But if that were true it would not be fair on viewers who have been following the story line of this list for a long time.  Which again makes me favor the Partidge theory that others on this site have suggested.  They could easily make the Partidge character turn from what we know him as, that is, an immature childish person to then turning to his real self to show he's been putting on a good act for a long time.

Either way, I think the Red John and Patrick Jane showdown will actually turn out being on Red Johns terms.  Maybe RJ will kidnap Jane or something.  Obviously Jane will triumph in the end.  Overall, it seems a little obvious to me where the writers are trying to take us right now.  Away from whats really going on, to get our eyes off the real RJ and I think Jane has truly known who the real RJ is and is concocting a plan to flush him while letting RJ think that he's winning.

If it really is someone on that list, I would go with Partridge.  I think we'll see him in a different light once he is revealed.

Let's think about who would have wanted to bug the office, I think it's very important.

1. Bertram is out, he could have bugged it himself anytime.
2. Haffner is out, he was in the office a couple of times in that episode, could have done it himself.
3. Reede Smith: I refuse to believe this nobody is Red John, if he is, this show will have the lamest         ending in the history of TV shows. He is a random stranger who nobody's ever heard of before season   five.
4. Stiles could have done it, but let's be honest..He is almost 80, he is dying, the FBI is looking for   him...It just doesn't look like it's going to be him.
5. Sheriff: He could have done it.

What we learn from this is: Whoever Red John is, the other tigers don't know. Because if the sheriff is Red John and the others know, he could have asked Bertram to bug the office, no need to bring in a silly private detective. (same for Smith)

So I think it's either the sheriff, or someone we think is dead or not on the list.
It cannot be Bertram or Haffner, they could have bugged the office themselves. For me it also can't be Stiles and Smith for the reasons I mentioned above.
