Well, unfortunately the NON-LISTers like myself will be highly disappointed with the RJ's identity more than others will. This is basically because we are so much used to get twisted conclusions from Jane regarding other crimes and their perpetrators. It was like almost every time we didn't see it coming. However, the show had come to such a crux where almost everyone ever casted is accused of being Red John by different people. Normally you don't have this at that degree in other similar shows/movies. And there are two things which I believe that all will agree:

1- The reveal (and the ID) must have been so well-prepared that the audience wouldn't be highly disappointed
2- Achieving the above was nearly impossible because there were millions of theories regarding every single character on the show, so it's truly hard to come up with a surprise.

So it was a good (from the creator's side) move to create a list and have people slowly adjust their expectations within that frame. This way, even if the crowd gets disappointed, the level wouldn't be as much as in the other scenario. Of course, people like me still hope that the list is fake and we will have a really unexpected/mind-blowing reveal but we're now just a minority. I'm afraid, Brett will turn out to be alive and RJ himself (even though the idea itself is lame enough to make me throw up). Well, nothing is perfect in this life. Why should this show be?

That would be hilarious if Rigsby and Cho (the comic relief team) correctly guessed RJ as Bertram in the second episode of season 6 after just getting the list.

"What took you so long, Patrick?! We had it like 6 episodes ago!"

I've given up on theories now because we just don't know what's happened during the explosion, who got shot, etc..
It's possible that we will find out the real identity of Red John at the very end of the next episode, in the last few seconds..

So enjoy the next episode Mentalist fans, I can't wait!!! I really hope there will be a huge twist and nothing is as it seems!
I will accept anybody as RJ except Reede Smith. 

I had to choose someone to accuse otherwise I can't post it, so for the last time before the next episode, out of respect I choose my all time favourite Red John suspect ever. It might not be him, but I've never given up on him.:)

I think Gale Bertram is the most likely suspect. I think several of his actions since being introduced on the show demonstrate the narcissism that Red John is famous for.

1. Patrick Jane was *literally* sitting with Red John at the mall, prior to the fake Red John showing up.
2. Gale Bertram says to Patrick, "when you catch Red John, I'll be there"
3. Gale Bertram says, "I know that sometimes I must appear calculating, even duplicitous to you, but please understand it comes with the job description. I am many things to many people."
4. Gale Bertram quotes William Blake (not the same poem as The Tiger, and not under RJ circumstance)
5. Gale Bertram is constantly involved with the media. Whether he's talking to the press on behalf of the CBI, reading the newspaper (a scene we have seen often), or discussing the media with team, he is always seemingly conscious of it. This ties directly in to Red John saying, in the first episode, "I do not like being slandered in the media"
