At this point i really dont care who RJ is, the only thing i care is that when BH and his team explaine how everything went down it blows our minds, so why this post then, well because i want to proove a theory of mine.

Heller says that Jane and Lisbon have a sort of falling out over the ending of the RJ case. We know Jane ends up in South America on the run and Lisbon a sheriff in a small town in Washington. Has she been demoted? That almost seems like a step down in job duties. Way down!

The whole Red John saga will be written down in the wikipedia, everywhere..
I'm sure you would want to make Red John someone worthy, a cult figure, who won't be easily forgotten.
I'm sorry but Haffner, Smith and Bertram are quite insignificant characters, in 10 years we won't even remember their names.
Now the sheriff and Stiles are a different story.
I can easily see this sentence in the wiki for example: "Red John, who was revealed as Bret Stiles, head of the cult Visualize (portrayed by Malcolm McDowell)..."
Or : "Red John, who was revealed in season 6 as the sheriff of Napa county, Sheriff McAllister, portrayed by Xander Berkeley, blablabla..."
Just think about other shows, we always just remember the important characters. (Like from Lost I can only remember Jack, Sawyer and Locke).
Red John supposed to be someone very charismatic and memorable. Stiles is very charismatic, and the sheriff is different, more of a loner, and we will always remember him as 'the sheriff'..The other 3 are all the same, we wouldn't remember them in 10 years..
(Partridge is a good one too, he's already a cult figure, but I'm only looking at the 5 now.)

Van pelt and her ?? Styles and his ?? Jane going from the light side cbi and then going to the darkside working with red john to take down his superiors in tiger tiger. Life death
I saw some things on the Kirkland twin thing and something just came to mind.
In season 6 I believe called red listed Bob Kirkland tries to scare Jane by cutting off the other guys fngers.
Now in the episode where Jane meets up with RJ and Loralei in the car season 5, RJ asks him to join him PJ refuses and Red John threatens or tells loralei to cut his fingers off also.
My point is Bob and his brother use the same tactics. I think Jane noticed that in Red listed.
fact: the only part of sophie miller's information that is significant is that she does not believe anything RJ says...BECAUSE RJ gave her information on every other suspect, and none about himself. you're welcome
