- RJ made Lorelei read out a large list of possible suspects when he knew about her telling PJ about the handshake thing.

- Then after breaking into PJ room he could see how was PJ thinking and he his likely to suspect 7 people (He didn't find names, only hints/clues that point to 7 people)

- So according to the data he gathered, he made a list of his own 7 names that PJ likely to suspect, including his own name and edited the video to match the list.

- When PJ first watched the video without Lisbon, he found that some the suspects Lorelei read out were wrong, so we now have 2 lists (one by RJ, one by PJ).

- The true suspects are the mutual ones in both lists, and PJ is keeping that for himself. Before letting Lisbon watch the video, he faked that the list made by RJ is identical to his list, in order to let RJ think he's one step ahead when he actually "two steps behind", just like he faked his breakdown in season 4.

- Also, RJ and PJ knew each other long before PJ's family was murdered that's why he knew about his memories. But why PJ can't recognize him then ? simply because he had a surgery to change his face, that's why he asked (then killed) Jason Lennon.

- Remember "he is mar" ? (mar = injury, defect, etc). Jared Renfrew did know about RJ's injury, but this information was outdated because it happened during the murder of Carter Peak and he could have had the surgery anytime later on. (Probably long before the murder of PJ's family).

I know such scenario could be far fetched, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

In my humble opinion. Red John is Kirkland and Kirkland knows Patrick Jane from childhood, and I found this hint both given by Patrick Jane's life and Bob Kirkland's chat with Theresa Lisbon.

When Lisbon and Kirkland had their chat, although very elusive Kirkland stated that he moved with his familly on various locations and for that reason he likes to tell that he was "raised in the USA".

Patrick Janes comes from a familly of "Irish Travellers" aslo called "tinkers". Kevin Corrigan (Robert Kirkland) having this Irish background, the connection between the actor's background and Bob Kirkland/Red John seems very likely.

When Rebecca was being escorted to her cell her facial expression showed that she saw Red John right before he put the poison on her hand. She was giving him that crazy-eyed adoring smile. Wouldn't the guards who were walking with her have recognized him if he were already a member of the CBI?

Fyi: I just read an interview with Bruno Heller by Entertainment Weekly. He said that RJ is definitely one of the 7 suspects on the list. He is not tricking us. He said there will be no more tricks, and i understood him to say that we will find out the truth next season. He also said, definitively, RJ is NOT Patrick Jane. Thank goodness. That would be heartbreaking and devastating.

Either HE is Red John or he is an assistant and I'll tell you why.

1. He shook hands with Jane. Jane said "Do I know you?" and Bob said, "No, but I know you."
2. He killed the guy at the hospital who knew Red John and said, "Do you know me?" or something along those lines.
3. ffs he broke into Jane's house and looked at his board of clues to RJ that's how he knew the 7 suspects.

Jane should kill all seven for good measure...

The list thing is a parlor trick. The timeline here is blurred it would seem..anyway the parlor trick is this: the magician has you write a secret on a piece of paper and he does the same, then they seal the "answers" in envelope or something..sometimes they burn it...anyway..while the trick is being played out, the answers are revealed and they "magically" match up. This is a trick that is played by real entertainers the world over and Patrick's character even. The video was set up that way. I am sure that Names board was used to make the video...how I don't know, but again that's the secret of the trick. But in my mind it is just that...a trick.

i dont have a theory but i have some questions. i think there is something fishy first of all why does lorelei have no gun shot wound in the scene where she is dead also how did red john know what lorelei said to jane. something lorelei said reminded me of something lisbon said in the message from red john he said you just got a lucky break lisbon always says this
