I saw someone post this the other day and wanted to dive into it a little further. 

First, the list. I trust the list for two reasons. First, Bruno said it is legit. Second, when you look at Patricks face as Lorelei reads the names, he is clearly showing discontent. Expressing that he was set back yet again. 

Now onto the meat. Bob Kirkland is the only suspect on the "list" that Jane hasn't "defeated" mentally in some sort of challenge. In addition, he is the only one that Jane hasn't even challenged. He is the only one that has had an upper hand on Jane. 

From that angle, the only one else with that sort of criteria would be Stiles. However, stiles doesn't match the description we have. 

I think that Red John was at that 4th of July party that Jane's Happy Memory was set at. That was also the time where they both shook hands, when they were both kids, probably about the same age, and randomly met in the park with other families milling around.

Red John was probably some self absorbed child genius who thought that he was the smartest person in the world. But when they first met, Jane might have tricked him somehow and made him look like a fool. Jane's probably forgotten this, dismissed it as just a bit of fun, but Red John remembers and he's been stalking Jane ever since.

So while the 4th of July party is the scene of one of Jane's happier memories, it's also the scene of Red John's unhappiest one.

How did Red John know Jane's Happy memory ? Well Here's my theory
I'll try to explain so please comment if there's anything to add or any thoughts.

Dr Joe.N.H is one of Red Johns Aliases like Roy Tagliaferro, he used the alias "Dr. Joe - N. H." ("N. H." being short for New Hampshire) in "Red John's Friends" when instant-messaging with Lisbon's team. . In Red Dawn we discover Jane was admitted to a mental hospital because of his wife and daughters death . In order for you to be admitted you have to have a mental illness. Because Jane's Daughter and wife were murdered and he was the one who discovered the bodies it was more than enough to be a trigger , along with the stress of red John personally targeting him and dealing with a number of emotions. Very often, psychosis can be triggered by stress, extreme or otherwise.  Different people deal with different types of stressors in different ways.The amount and type of stressor that can trigger a psychotic episode varies from person to person because, as noted, people differ in the degree of their vulnerability or predisposition to experiencing a psychotic episode, and how they deal with stress. 

Psychotic episodes usually occur in three stages:

1. Prodrome
The prodrome is the initial stage of psychosis. Early symptoms may be vague and not distinguishable from and individual’s normal behaviour. Changes may be slow and the person and people who know them may not notice these changes straight away. 
(In Jane's case his symptoms must of been noticed right away)

2. Acute
The word psychosis is used to describe a condition that affects the mind, where there has been some loss of contact with reality. This can lead to changes in mood, behaviour and the beliefs a person holds.

3. Recovery Psychosis can be treated and most people recover, and with the right help many people will never experience more than one psychotic episode. Therefore, it is vitally important to seek help at the earliest stage possible; this is commonly the role of family or friends.

In Red Dawn we see Jane wander in the CBI. First off, Patrick did in fact give off a homeless vibe, as Lisbon put it. He looked completely disheveled with his hair askew and his inability to tuck in his shirt. This was not the charismatic, confident Patrick Jane we know now. This was a man who was just released from a mental hospital. If you watch closely its almost as if Jane set up the punch in the face intentionally . Lisbon says Jane agrees he provoked agent hannigan who punched him Minelli says " I hope Mr Jane remains so amiable when he wakes up in the morning with a pounding headache and time to think . We must find a way to make him happy " So Jane being a Mentalist , he can read people using clues and he did pick up on agent hannigan's anger issues; Triggering it so working for the CBI is leverage so he wouldn't sue. Minelli even offers Jane to run along with Lisbon on duty . Where he shows off his skills and swindles the team and all in letting him work with them.  

Since Red John can be 7 Of those people we have to stop being so fixated on height and appearances as much as we'd like to think they help . They do up to an extent but we must go into a much deeper thought, Like the past of Red John .

Speculations:  

*Red John Worked at Visualize at some point time Or was a member of visualize 
*Red John has some sort of medical knowledge (previously a doctor or psychiatrist ect.)
 
Its fair for me to think that Visualize is what has helped to Red john to become as sharp or almost as sharp as patrick .Red John is extremely intelligent, a match for Jane, as seen from his ability to outwit him time and again.   He has twice hacked into the CBI computers without being detected. He sets up phony companies and bank accounts to keep his identity a secret. Possibly a symptom of his narcissism, Red John also appears to pay close attention to talk shows (or subscribe to a service that picks up mentions in the media) in case he is spoken of unfavorably since he kills the people who do so (such as James Panzer and talk show host Jacqueline Sandoval) on the same night that the shows on which they denigrate him air. Finally, Red John is a master manipulator, evident in his ability to get people to trust him. 

While Jane was in the Mental hospital whose to say he wasn't Jane's doctor ? . It's possible that he's came into contact with each and everyone of the people on the list & That he might be one. And if he has then i truly belive that He is Robert Kirkland . Roberts is somebody who easily charms and is very cocky , slick , suave .  

Remember Kristina Frye ? Somebody who is very mastered at the skill of hypnosis would only be capable of mentally stripping them of their true persona which is what Red John did to Kristina . MK Mind control is a sick sadistic way to hypnotize people and make them forget who they really are . 

Back to Psychosis 
 In the final stage patients are in touch with reality and remember , since their memory and pure conscious state is back . Patrick being in this state must have been worked on for a while and how is it that he doesn't remember who is doctor is ?  Perhaps DR Joe N.H ? And maybe the Mental asylum was in New Hampshire . . A fare possibility is it not ?.

Notice how Red John New the List of 7 suspects ? . Red John is NOT a psychic and we should be able to know this because he holds  the same powers ( maybe more advanced) and reasoning as Jane . The only way he knew this was Red John being Robert Kirkland OR Lisbon  being in cahoots ( very unlikely) and Robert having the other 6 people working for him . 

Jane is more clever than he shows and it is likely in Red Letter Day that he put the toothpick there because he knew someone would want to get in . Kirkland maybe . But this is as far as ive gone and if anything needs to be added feel free to Comment please

I think that Kirkland is Red John because Red John has to be a very powerful figure to do all the things he has done. Also Red John was able to figure out who was on patricks list so since Kirkland had those two agents break into patricks office it makes kirkland a probable suspect. Also Rosalind Harker probably would not have been attracted to an old man like bret stiles. I know that she is blind but I think that she would be able to tell if red john was old. I dont think red john is brett partridge because he is to young and red john has been killing for a long time. Remember in the episode red barn when the team figured out that red john was a member of visualize 25 years ago? Well Kirkland looks like the perfect age for that. Brett Partridge has the voice of red john but he is too young he is second on my list though.

Just something that I noticed when watching episodes that had the accused in them. The only one on that list that Jane has not made a mockery of is Bob Kirkland. 

That has been one thing that has bothered me. B. Partridge is the most likely suspect, but Jane has walked all over him. Red John is a "showman" and "artist". He sees himself better than others. Taunting Jane "Give up yet?". 

There is credible evidence that many others have pointed to Bob, but I hadn't heard anyone specify this. 

Hello folks,
1st - the first mention to "A Childhood Memory" was made by Jane to Lisbon
2nd - Jane knows that Red John is egocentric and wouldn't lose the opportunity to be a step head and show that. 

3rd - Red John used the exactly same word "Childhood Memory" in the video.
Considering
the theory that Lorelei is alive Patrick Jane could've used the "a
happy memory from childhood " to test the loyalty of Lisbon and her
contacts, so after all it confirmed 1 thing, Lisbon is on touch with Red
John consciously or unconsciously.

Since she promised to report everything about the
case to Bob Kirkland and Gale, maybe she told Bob, who kept lorelei
Alive and used her to record a video of the list (since he stole
it!!!!), also used the opportunity to "I'll kill a happy memory".


Pls thoughts... 

Just a thought: perhaps RJ is not just one person, but all or many of the people on the list. Maybe that's why "he" appears all knowing.
