Main Plot Spoilers: Once you read them, you can't unread them. You can press red, but the best you can hope for is that you didn't really understand what you were reading, thus you forget the spoilers. Just a warning. 

- Brett Partridge was Red John (leader of Tyger Tyger)

- Red John bugged Lisbon to figure out the list at the same time Lisbon found out
- The scene of Jane telling Lisbon the other 6 names is in a flashback
- The accomplice who gives the CD to Jane arrives late in the night, because she had to drive to RJ, who was making the CD at the site with Lorelei, then the accomplice had to drive back to her house to deliver the CD to Jane
- Jane pulled off an 8 episode trick to outsmart Red John (the trick is adjusted after episode 6)
- "Heisma" was Heisman trophy of Ray Haffner - Well done to whoever figured that out.
- Red John's last murders since Eileen Turner was the Jane family
- All the other murders seemed to fall to accomplices, most commonly Haffner aka Roy Tagliaferro

-Robert Kirkland launched an investigation into Tyger Tyger many years ago
-A flashback in season 2 shows him in a meeting with Minelli, where he persuaded Minelli to resign
-Gale Bertram became the new Boss. He was inserted as a Triple Agent into Tyger Tyger by Kirkland to fish out information on Tyger Tyger
-Flashback shows Gale Bertram talking to Bob Kirkland with coffee in the park
-Flashback show its Michael Kirkland who warns Lisbon about Volker, kills Jason Lennon and a feature including Michael Kirkland's arrest and switch with Robert Kirkland in prison, with a small replay of Reede shooting Michael
-The meeting with Smith, Reede and Bertram was about how they were going to clean up law-enforcement as they'd made big steps in gathering information but what they really needed was for Patrick to catch the leader, Red John.

Nice little hints left for us: 
Ray Haffner was Roy Tagliaferro (Rosalynd you lied about his damn height you blind bat!)

If you watch the Lorelei Martins' video, there is a massive pause before Ray Haffner's name is announced, which is disguised by Jane and Lisbon's exchange of looks. 

Ray Haffner raped and killed Lorelei's sister, as Red John told her. That's why she's not angry at Red John himself and complies with the video.


Partridge, the great Red John, outsmarted by a photographer: 

Partridge: "Red John's been laying low for years, working through friends and proxies."
Val Ziskin (Photographer): "He killed just recently didn't he?"

The only person who knew Lorelei Martins was still alive was Red John. Partridge says Red John has been laying low for years. The only person who knew that was Red John. I can't believe I ever thought that this guy was a mastermind. . . Everyone else thinks he's just killed Lorelei Martins. Then he runs his mouth trying to get caught. In episode 8, it is revealed since the murders of Angela and Charlotte Jane, Partridge did not physically kill one person himself until Eileen Turner.

Sean Barlow was a friend of Red John 

If you recall Sean Barlow "Any punk killer who wants to fool with you can paint a smiley face on the wall, OOOO it's Redjohn."

This turned out to be true, haha! Any way, he guilted Patrick into telling Lisbon the list. When Lisbon who was bugged, heard the list, Redjohn also heard it. So yeah, he turned out to be pretty important.

Look away if you don't want to see how Red John guessed the list. Credit to JJC, I'll try and add to his theory.

In episode 5x16, we see a dead Lorelei Martins... or do we. Earlier in the episode, we see a picture of Miranda Roman who, Lisbon notes "looks just like her beautiful sister," Lorelei. She was killed by Roy Tagliaferro and her body was never found. Remember Dr Towlen Morning's, another Red John victim's, frozen body? We know Red John has the capacity to preserve bodies. The dead girl with make-up and no bullet wound is Lorelei's sister.

Red John guessing Jane's List

At the start of "Red John's Rules," Lisbon has been bugged. That's how Sean Barlow knew Jane was keeping secrets from her, i.e. The Names on the List. She literally annoys Jane about the names from the moment he leaves his attic. This is how Barlow knew that Lisbon was lying in bed thinking about Jane, during the time of the murder.

The talk with Barlow made Jane feel bad for keeping Lisbon in the dark. He eventually tells her Gale Bertram is a suspect. Then Roddy Turner appears, and blah blah blah. Point is, later on the way to the RJ accomplice's house, Jane told Lisbon all the names of the 7 suspects. Then Miriam Gottlieb, arrives like 5 hours late and its nightfall. She went to get the CD from Red John. Red John was making the CD with Lorelei Martins, who is still alive, while Jane and Lisbon waited at the accomplice's house.

Since Lisbon is bugged, Red John hears all the names. Then he tapes the additional details about how he killed Jane's happy memory and led him to the CD, into 1 take along with the names. 

It's no co-incidence Lisbon's happy memory, "my mother feeding pigeons," is the situtation in which Brett Partridge's imposter appears.



From Season 6 onwards, Jane discovers she's been bugged and uses this against Red John. This is how he beats Red John. Patrick, as I have always maintained possesses much more raw intelligence than Red John, who relies on cheap tricks.

Maybe the dumbest theory you ever read, but I hope it entertains. 99% of us are going to be wrong, so I thought I might join the party.

For anyone whose read theories about Partridge being Red John, with his accomplice being Ray Haffner, who partakes in some Red John killings, I've got a bonus theory. It's how Red John guessed the list. I write it at the end.

First: Evidence for the Red John(Partridge)/Haffner relationship

- Ok Bret Stiles knows Red John. Stiles been flying around the country in a jet owned by a man called Ryan Parks.


 Red John gathers his minions from Visualise.

- Police cop who turns up when Jane shoots Timothy Carter
- Woman feeding pigeons can be seen in Visualise ceremony
- Red John was a member of Visualise in the late 80s
- Haffner is in Visualise

Haffner's suspected doings

- Ray Haffner tracks down Rosalynd Harker for Red John, as she is someone from Jane's past (Maybe the dying girl he conned)

- The Plaskett's room is wire-tapped. Ray Haffner solves high profile cases by wire tapping according to LaRouche.

- Haffner tracked down Jared Renfrew in Mexico. He is a creative surveillance expert.
- "Heisma" -if you were dying, would you bother with the "He is" with only the "H" capitalised.
This points to it being essential to part of the clue. "Heisman" is a name.

- Haffner tracks down Patrick Jane in a warehouse- creative surveillance 
- Haffner is a skilled marksmen. He shoots the copycats. His actions in that scene are very robotic, as Haffner is just doing the movements, waiting for Partridge to do the voice.

- Haffner is sent to the hospital to see what Lisbon remembers
- Haffner paints Lisbon's face - he draws the eyes vertically, Visualise ritual style!

Now you might say: Wow, so much evidence? Surely, Red John is Haffner. If you read Partridge theories you'll see why you can't shake that Partridge is Red John. Sometimes they can be hard to understand, but they do make sense.

So how did Red John guess the list?
If there is no such thing as a psychic:

- Isn't it weird how Sean Barlow knows where Lisbon is?
- Isn't it weird how he knows Patrick has been keeping secrets from her?
- If Red John is leading Patrick through the case, Red John is sure Patrick will visit Barlow
- Red John knows Barlow from the carnival. Theory #8587 shows Brett Partridge was in the carnival. Red John tells Barlow this information. Barlow was "expecting" them.

But how did Red John know so much about Lisbon and Jane? Lisbon is bugged. Yes, bugged. Lisbon has been bugged, bugged, bugged!

Now in the car, Lisbon is asking Patrick about revealing the list all day.

- When does Patrick crack? After the visit to Sean Barlow. Sean Barlow manipulated Jane. He made Jane feel bad. Eventually, he slipped the name Gale Bertram to her. Then something happens in the episode. But, surely, later, Jane told Lisbon ALL the names on the list.

Another weird thing happens: Miriam Gottlieb, Red John's accomplice arrives like 3 hours late to her house. What was she doing in that time? She was collecting the CD from Red John.

The woman you saw in 5 x 16 killed, was Miranda Roman, Lorelei's sister. Why was Gottlieb late? RJ was making the CD. They never found Miranda Roman's body. Lorelei's bullet wound had suddenly healed? We know Red John can preserve bodies. Remember the frozen Dr Towlen Morning?

Lorelei Martins is still alive. The trick was Red John was keeping her alive, and heard the list from Lisbon who was bugged. Then he made Lorelei read the list.

In episode 5 x 22, Red John's Rules, Lisbon reveals her happy memory is her mother feeding pigeons. In episode 2, season 6, a Partridge imposter is there feeding pigeons to trick Jane. But instead, Jane tricks John! From that point on Jane starts lying relentlessly to Lisbon, to mislead Red John. Red John hears Jane showing the vocal recorder to Lisbon

-"Acaraphobia" is said aloud as "acrophobia" to mislead Red John. Suddenly McAllister and Smith are conveying a fear of heights...
-Sophie Miller says "RJ is a very good whistler", and suddenly every one of the freaking suspects EXCEPT Kirkland, whistles after the recording is heard.
-Therefore, every one of the suspects except Bob Kirkland are under instructions from Red John

- Cue theory #10330  #JanebeatsRedjohn 


When Lisbon first bugs the suspects, Ray Haffner hears from Lisbon's bug. He tells Brett Partridge as they both realise they've been bugged. Brett's already at West Huron... Uh oh! Haffner leaves his phone somewhere. And he goes and helps Partridge fake his death.

But they keep Lisbon alive, because she's a valuable source of information. Jane realises eventually that RJ bugged Lisbon.

Instances in which Patrick Jane misleads Red John, by talking crap to Lisbon:

- Pretending he doesn't see the Partridge imposter reassures RJ that Patrick doesn't suspect Partridge, and that Patrick doesn't know Lisbon is bugged

- Pretending "acaraphobia" is acrophobia, its eaier to see suspect's reactions, to see which of them are under instructions from RJ.

- Pretending that RJ bugged the CBI, and that RJ killed Kira Tinsley, and that RJ has a red tattoo

-Teresa asks Haffner to come to the meeting, then Partridge sends his father a note saying "Patrick Jane is looking for you"

- Patrick ditches Teresa in dramatic fashion to get to his house


Eventually Patrick gets all 5 suspects in a room. What happens next?

Jane's plan will unfold. He will kill Red John soon. If you like the theory, press plausible, please :)

My Prediction:

I believe the meeting in the park with Red John will be very shortly after Patrick reveals to the media that Gale Bertram is Red John. Therefore the media reveal must be at the end of the episode.

In the park, Patrick will meet his nemesis, only known to him before by the name of Brett Partridge.

Sooner or later, it will be revealed that Patrick kidnapped Stiles and Haffner with the help of Bertram, McAllister, Smith and Robert Kirkland. Then he says Gale Bertram is Red John to the media. The kidnappings will be why Jane has to flee to Mexico. Jane has got away with killing a man who isn't Red John before. But not with kidnapping- especially a man like Bret Stiles.
