does somebody remember back in the finale of season 5 that lisbon briefly said that a specific song reminds her of her mother feeding pigeons? its when PJ and lisbon are discussing the fact that RJ killed one of PJs happy memories. 
is it not odd that in 6X02 ending they sit next to a woman feeding pigeons and we also get to see PJ watching the woman, acting strange, focusing on her hands. 

i think brett is very much alive. i havent doubted for a second that he is RJ and i think he is following PJ. not to only to spy on him but because he likes him very much and wants to be his friend and companion.

SO HERE IS MY THEORY. IT MAY BE NONSENSICAL AND STUPID BUT TRUST ME THIS IS WHAT I THINK


There are basically 2 organisations. The CORRUPT LAW ENFORCEMENT GROUP(CLEG) and the VISUALIZE CULT GROUP (VCG) .

Red john is being funded by Visualize and that is why he got most of his resources from and probably Bret Stiles is behind it too. The CLEG is probably are a bunch of high ranking corrupts that do dirty works within the law enforcement which uses the code word tiger tiger.I bet Lisbon is also part of it somehow. The organisation have been hunting down red john and also using the work of red john to do the killings at some point. Red John at the other hand being hunted and framed by CLEG tries to lead Patrick to find out about the CLEG by giving him clues firstly the tiger tiger poem. Patrick at the same time is being used by the law enforcement group especially Gale Betram to get information on Red john. Red john is trying to make patrick think that he is a part of the CLEG. Then he wanted patrick to eliminate the key members of the corrupt law enforcement group. The 3 hooligans which is Gale betram, smith and mcallister. Ray Haffner and Bret stiles are on the same side and pretty much working together, supporting Red John and not RED JOHN THEMSELVES. I may not think that Bret stiles is red john father but that might be an interesting plot. Taking down the CLEG was red john prior motive. Red john is a charming man who could easily bring women down to his knees and money to make a man does his dirty work. Bruno Heller said red john was there from the start. We just don't know who but I KNOW ;)  Red John , from the description given and from clues of s06e01 and s06e02, is and will obviously be Bret Patridge :) If not then it could be a disappointing Kirkland theory or the absurd Ray Haffner theory or worst an unknown who make his first appearance on season 6 as Red John

I think the clue in 06x01 Bruno Heller was talking about (if there's one) is right in this scene. Not a theory, just some thoughts.

- Thers's a red thing on the table (00:10) but I think this is irrelevant

- Look at PJ's face at the moment when Partridge comes (00:30), could it be that some element made him realize Brett is RJ?

- 'You truly don't know?' Ok now imagine PJ and RJ are two masterminds and RJ is Partridge, it could be that when they're facing each other (01:35), both of them know PJ has figured out that Partridge id RJ, that is why in the same episode, Partridge fakes his own death to try and make PJ believe he is not RJ.

- There's the same cop walking around in the background. Look carefully (00:14 by the boat, 00:27, 00:48, 01:13, 01:33). Why would he walk randomly around the crime scene?
