The final chapter

Patrick will outplay redjohn and be pointing a gun to Redjohn's head. Teresa will make him lower the weapon, while RJ is surrounded by CBI. Then as Rj's been driven away the car will be ambushed and Kirkland will save RJ. Then after a long drive to the desert, Kirkland reveals he's not Michael. He's Bob. A figure approaches in the distance, Patricks walks closer, a grin on his face. They tie him down and slowly let man-eating ants devour Redjohn.

Red John is dead.  Heller stated that the timing of BP's death will turn out to have a meaning.  I think Tyger Tyger killed Red John.  There have been no Red John MO killings since then.  I have a feeling that Grace Van Pelt is going to kill Rigsby.  Perhaps some sort of mind manipulation or perhaps she is just evil or crazy.  I get this feeling because Rigsby is going on and on about how life is so great being married.  It seems as though we are being prepped and set up for something sinister to happen with them.

Spoiler: The Flashback to Jane's Family's Murders in Episode 8

Raymond Haffner is the killer. Brett Partridge slides under the bed, and Haffner says "Where'd you go?" Partridge "Hello Angela, do you know who I am? *laughs*" Haffner kills her and Jane's daughter. Brett Partridge draws a smily face. They leave the house. Haffner says "Why were you talking like Elmo???" Partridge says "I was going for creepy." "Well, you sounded high."  

After they're done they look seriously at each other. Partridge says "Tiger, tiger," then Haffner says "Grow up man."  Partridge looks sad, so Haffner sighs "Tiger, Tiger...you creep". Partridge grins, Haffner smiles back and they high 5 each other like highschool kids. 

Partridge says "Burgers at my house, Dad's away on business." They drive away to his house with some celebratory cheeseburgers. Reede Smith is first one there, already with cheeseburger and fries in each hand within a minute of their arrival, says "Comeon, guys, what took you so long." Haffner says "I took my time with this one. You know its because of Patrick Jane, Amy left me." Smith almost chokes on his mouthful of fries. McCallister appears behind him and backslaps him to health.  Partridge says "That was Patrick Jane's family??? I'm his biggest fan. You know he can speak to the dead." Bertram walks in, shaking his head, saying "You really let him come with you again?" Partridge looks offended. Michael Kirkland walks in. Haffner passes him a cheeseburger, while Reede's eyes follow it from Haffner's hand to Kirkland's mouth. 

Michael says "You really need to stop taking Brett with you." Partridge yells "I draw the smiley, damnit." Michael says "Right..." "Tell him Ray, I do a great serial killer voice." Ray nods slowly. Partridge laughs a little too loudly in Kirkland's face. Kirkland says "Did you ever make a real friend by yourself? Or does your Dad just recruit them for you?" Then the guys chorus "Oooooo" then the room goes quiet. Partridge: "Ok then Mike, lets say we have a wager, you name any one person in the world, and I guarantee I will make them to be my friend. "

Mike smiles. "Patrick Jane. I'll give you 10 years."
Brett Partridge: "Ha, that'll be easy, we've both known him since we met him in the carnival. If I can't do this, heck, you guys can kill me."

Reede: "Where's the ketchup?"
Partridge says "Here," receiving the burger with his left hand and smears some blood on with the other gloved hand.
Reede: "Awwww comeon man!"

*Lights turn on* Stiles: "Comeon Brett, you really need to stop having these meetings in the basement. No good can come of it."

As the years go on, Partridge fails miserably and his colleagues and father even try and help him to make his first friend. Partridge attracts depressed women as they sympathise with him at first, then they are endeared to him from his habit of painting smily faces on walls. But 10 years has almost expired, so Partridge is driven to his most crazy plan ever. Wait and see...

This is my long time suspect. I will believe his death when i will see his head cutted off. His death could be confirmed by some of his army in FBI. Jane too easy believed in his death.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are finally reaching our epic
finale, who is red john?  We have been
given a glimpse and hints into every character, well almost everyone, we still haven’t
seen Bret Styles. We get deeply connected to Bret in the episode when he’s in
the prison cell and talking to Van Pelt. There’s something about that which
gave me the creeps, he’s very seductive, and like Jane is a mentalist, he has
the power to read people. If he is RJ I wouldn’t be surprised if that was him
trying to get Van Pelt on the Inside.

With regard to the three dotted tattoo, it doesn’t necessarily
mean that’s him, It could be an accomplice since when is RJ sloppy and messy.
He’s usually a perfectionist who finishes the kill, positions the person and
leaves his signature. I think the biggest clues are in the first episode, the
tracing of all their phones and positions. 

Just because we thought we saw partridge die means he’s
dead, if he was alive he’d probably be our top suspect, what’s to say he did
not fake his own death, trip Lisbon up while on the floor and tazer her.

I predict it to be Partridge or Styles. Still too difficult
to know! 

Hats off to the mentalist creators for making its so interesting!

Here is what Bruno Heller has said about the "death" of Brett Partridge..and as we continue to go through episodes with no mention of him, I find these comments even more interesting (and suspicious):

"It wasn't my decision. It was Red John's decision. And it's part of a much larger, dastardly plan that will reveal itself over the next few episodes."

We still have not been shown what RJ's "plan" was. Why? Because the plan was Partridge, aka RJ, faking his death and coming back for the big reveal. THAT'S why Partridge has not been mentioned since his "death". And that's why his death was not investigated like Kirkland's has been.

"Why DID he kill Partridge? What possible reason could he have for that? A very good reason will be revealed down the line."

For you, as a writer, was it ever going to be someone else first?

"No. Because like I say, as convoluted and as elaborate as the plotting might appear, you have to know exactly what you’re doing way before you do it. So things might seem mysterious or too complicated to work out what the heck is going on, but as these episodes unfold, the story will unfold itself in a clean and clear fashion. It was very important that Partridge die at this point in the story."

They have yet to reveal the importance of Partridge's death to us..yet we are coming to the end. There are just three RJ episodes left, and still no mention of Partridge and why his death was so important..because why? I think the answer is quite clear. Also..in the next episode, Jane is gathering all of the remaining suspects together (a little too early.) Something has to happen right? Because there are still 2 more RJ episodes after this one! So perhaps RJ isn't one of the guys in the room after all? Jane discovers that it's someone else.

RJ is Brett Partridge,,,,and i won't repeat what you already talked about
My theory for those who are suspecting Haffner:
There is a fact i want to explain to you:Sophie Miller wasn't killed by Red John,,,if she was,so why didn't we see the smiley face of RJ??and by the way,,whoever killed her didn't slit her throat like RJ...he cut her head from her body,so obviously he isn't RJ.


And what I'm expecting is that the guy she was treating wasn't Red John at all...He was Haffner....so that the (acarophobia thing) is now explained because Haffner is afraid of spiders and that's certainly in case Patrick has heard it wrongly as (acrophobia).
So i think that Red John ordered Haffner to meet Sophie Miller as a patient to get information about Patrick like (the happy memory) and finally he ordered him to kill her in that way which isn't Red John's way.

My money is still on Partridge,Thank you :)
