THE THEORIES

I really dont know if i believe in this.
But as you might know William Blake has made painting called a brace of partridge.
We have also seen a lot of pidgeons in the last episodes. The painting is two dead birds.

I might be wrong, but its a weird coincidence, if it doesnt have anything to do with Red John.

I know partridge might be dead, and i also think it would be weird if he isn't.

There has to be something with the pigeons...one flown away in s06e01, one in s06e03...SO, two down...4 more to be in following episodes...

Hello guys:
Just selected BP as the accused as the site would not let me submit without.

Spoiler alert: PIGEONS
Figure this out, you will figure out who is red john!!!!!

or it could be a red herring.

Don't you guys find it strange that Patrick, who has solved hundreds of murder cases, doesn't get any strange feeling from any of the suspects?
If he sees a victim killed by Red John, he always knows it was him, he can feel it. How come he can't really feel anything when he is talking to the 7 suspects?

I think it might be because Red John is either Stiles (he is extremely smart) or Kirkland (Patrick and him haven't really talked enough), or Brett Partridge (again, they haven't talked that much but Patrick always had an uneasy feeling about him and now he is conveniently 'dead'.)

He's had lots of contact with Bertram, Haffner and now the sheriff, he would get a feeling if it's them, wouldn't he?
I also don't think it's Kirkland because of the next episode's preview. And I never considered Smith.

So for me it can only be Stiles or Partridge.:)

We don't have to look any further than Brett Partridge to know that he is Red John and I'll attempt to cross the other suspects off the list to prove it. Bare with me please

Gale Bertram- remember back in Season 3, when Patrick come up witha clever scheme to reveal Red John's mole in the CBI? well Gale was a suspect then too. If he was Red John wouldn't he have sent the assassin to the apartment number he was given rather than have O'loughlen send the assassin to his apartment number he was given? And if he was Red John he would have quickly figured out it was a ruse based on the fact that O'loghlen got a different room number than he. Red John didn't dicover it was a ruse until after Van Pelt told O'loughlen about the whole situation. So that's Bertram off the list!

Bret Stiles- based on evidence from both the Rosland Harker and Sophie Miller, it's safe to say good ol' Visualise leader Bret Stiles is too old to be Red John! However, I do indeed believe the theory that Bret Stiles is the father of Red John. He is also

Reede Smith- According to Sophie Miller's evaluation, Reede is too obese to be Red John.

Thomas Mcaslister- According to the latest episode of the Mentalist, it is revealed that Mcalister does not suffer from Vertigo. Whereas it is previously stated in the episode prior that Red John most ceratainly does! However, this may be considered illegitmate. (honestly I wouldn't mind seeing him as Red John.)

Bob Kirkland- If Kirkland was Red John then why in the preview for the next episode (Red listed) is he literally torturing Jane to reveal the names on the list of Red John suspects an less he is NOT Red John. Kirkland is far too obvious and the fact that he was introduced in season 5 really puts doubts in my mind, its far too late in the show. I honestly think he hates Red John and also has and agenda against him. I'm calling it now, that he'll probably be killed in next Sunday's episode. (God forgive me if i'm wrong.)

Ray Haffner- Ray is my second choice for Red John, if Partridge is indeed dead. Crossing Haffner off the list is difficult so i'm only going on minor clues. Bare with me. He is two inches too tall to be Red John and he was introduced in Season 4! like Kirkland he was debuted too late! However, I know that is not a lot to go off.

So too sum it all up, Red John is notorious for quoting William Blake's famous poem Tyger Tyger. William Blake also painted a picture titled a "Brace of Partridge." a coinsidence? I think not!
Rember the simple soloution is the usually the correct one.

He fits the correct physical description (some of the other characters don't!) He has known Jane before Loreli Martins gave the "shook his hand" clue. He has a soft voice which matches the voice we've heard over the phone several times. Jane described him in his notebook (when he was formulating his list of Red John suspects, before the final list of 7), as "totally macabre". He's the one character in the show which Jane gets the creeps from and calls a ghoul. Partridge enjoys Red John crime cases way too much. He always misdirects him and says it's not RJ when it is, and that it isn't RJ when it actually is. Heller said we'd be disappointed when we found out who RJ is. I think Partridge would be a great candidate for disappointing us because he's in plain sight so often and because he's the so-called "Red John expert" because he's been to every single Red John crime scene.

It's common in many serial killers that they'll try to take part in their own crime in some way, for example the episode when a man who was a serial killer made an entire website dedicated to catching the serial killer. Partridge believes he can't be caught, and he gets pleasure in seeing corpses at crime scenes. Partridge also makes fun of Jane in an episode, saying "going to get your psychic juices flowing?" and he pantomimes a strange portrayal. When he claims to show him a real magic trick and gives him a list of all 7 suspects, he is putting Jane down. Partridge despises Jane, but also thrives on the fact that Jane can never catch him.

Finally, in episodes 1 and 2 of Season 6 it becomes very obvious that he faked his own death. Consider this from Red John's perspective: you have friends in the CBI and FBI. You know that your phone is tapped (he has his way of knowing practically everything.) What is the way that you can both get rid of your bug without suspicion, and make Jane and Lisbon never again consider you as a suspect? You fake your death. They never showed his body. When important figures die, such as Agent Wainright at the finale of Season 4, they always show the body. Showing the body verifies that the character is gone, which they have not done for Partridge. Why else would Lisbon go into a dark house alone? As a top agent she knows better, but to make it so that Lisbon is the only person who sees Partridge, they had to script it that way.

At the end of Season 6 Episode 1 pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION when Lisbon is grabbed. She is standing to the right of Partridge. She looks away from Partridge because she thinks she hears something. And she is then grabbed FROM BEHIND, which is where Partridge is in relation to her. She turned her body away from him, and he grabs her. In Episode 2 Bertram claims Partridge was DOA (dead on arrival), however, Red John is always two steps ahead and makes things happen. We never see the body in the body bag. Remember when Jane and Lisbon go to jail to see Loreli Martins and they bring out somebody else, but the guard claims it's Martins, when clearly it is not? Red John can change information and make things happen. Jane is caught in a stupor and he is trying to find out which of the 6 people it is, and the last person he would consider anymore is Partridge. Red John is two steps ahead of Jane, as always.
