THE THEORIES

Aside from Partridge, none of the other suspects' voices even remotely sounds like Red John's. If it turns out not to be Partridge, how will they explain that away?

All the Blake references (Tyger tyger, The Great Red Dragon) may be nods to the movie Red Dragon. This may be stretching it, but the serial killer in Red Dragon smashes the mirrors (on the walls), the fractured shards reflecting a distorted image; Red John paints ghastly smiley faces on walls.

In Red Dragon, the killer fakes his own death, leaving a body that everyone thinks is his. Likewise, Partridge seems indisputably dead. Partridge coming back at the end and surprising everyone would be exactly like what happened in Red Dragon. I can just see the writers thinking that would be really clever. But one problem is that in 6x2 they pronounce Partridge as "DOA" at the start of the episode. Then again, if you've seen Silence of the Lambs you know what can be done with cutting off faces...

(Something else that jumped out was that shot of Ray Haffner during the voiceover at the end of 6x1. They showed him working out obsessively; the serial killer in Red Dragon was likewise obsessed with body building and there were multiple shots of that in the movie. And Haffner was shown whistling as he left Theresa's hospital room BEFORE Jane heard Sophie's observation about Roth's whistling. Granted, they showed Sheriff McAllister whistle as Jane left the room after the "conference" with Bertram and Reede, but they made sure to show McAllister whistle in the voiceover at the end. Probably a red herring as people will all remember McAllister as the whistler now, and not Haffner.)

The Bertram/McAllister/Reede conference was weird but a little too obvious, like we were being bludgeoned over the head. Don't think it's any one of them. They've been trying too hard to make Bertram suspicious in 6x1 and 6x2. McAllister lives all the way in some boony town. Reede is too fat. Kirkland is a helper but probably not the mastermind. That leaves Stiles, Haffner, and Partridge. Stiles runs Visualize and knows who Red John is, so he's probably not RJ himself. Between Haffner and Partridge I like Partridge because of the voice.

Is anyone else sad Bret is dead? I always liked him for rj, he's the perfect blend of creepy, I hope he somehow faked his death but I doubt it. I feel like today's episode was pushing to hard that it was Bertrum so I don't think it's him, Brett stiles has been m.i.a for a bit and he's not middle aged. Other then that I'm not exactly sure who it is except I know it's not Jane, that would be stupid.

I think Grace might be the mole in the CBI now, and that she's working for or been brainwashed by Red John.

I'm not sure why, but it probably started after O'Laughlin died.

She seems like the perfect Red John flunkie, easily manipulated, weak willed.

Brett Partridge is still my guess. The Blood used to paint Lisbons face would be that of the pigeons notice that they were kept in cages also 666, i would say maybe a form of sacrifice perhaps?, also something wierd Red John is Speaking to Jane While He has his knife in hand and its clear his making use of both his hands, which means he either has a helper or is using some kind of handsfree device , if you go back to S01X01 You will see Brett Partridge using a device. what better way to continue your killings then to get rid of yourself as a suspect?
Brett Partridge has always appeared in episodes written by Bruno Heller, and we all know that Bruno Heller Writes the main story lines. His a Ghoul. Bruno Heller did state that the 1st episode of season 6 would contain a big clue the only clues i can think of would be.

- 666 written on the wall
- "TIGER TIGER" (Was clue given before also)
- The Pigeons and cages
- Red John Talking to patrick J While he is busy Painting his classic Rj Smiley Face.
- The Gps Maps

Thats just my thoughts thanks for listening. :)

Maybe it's a recording.. but the voice of RJ at the phone, at the end of the first episode of the last season, is the same voice of Partridge.

Brett's voice matches RJ's as well as his stature from the episode in season 2 or 3 (I'm guessing) where RJ abducted PJ, talked to him and then let him go. I think it was too obvious to many that Brett was RJ so they made it appear he died in this season's premier. He's not dead and neither is Lisbon - but she's innocent. Brett, not so much.

This is a bit long shot but...
We all know what happened in episode 23 of the 2nd season.

Red John: Do you know who I am?
Patrick Jane: Yes...
Red John: Tiger, tiger, burning bright....

And remember. Patrick Jane kept it as a secret even from his team. He claimed that Red John didn't say anything to him when he saved his life.
What happened now, in the season 6 opener, is the following: Brett Partridge, while dying, was reciting the same song.

My question is: How did Brett Partridge know about the connection between The Tyger song and Red John himself? He could have identified Red John simply by saying "It was Red John," but he used that recitation instead.
For me, this is a big clue.
Opinions? Maybe I have overlooked something...
