THE THEORIES

If McAllister can fake his death than so can Partridge,Stiles or Haffner.    The timing of the Red John death this early in the season doesn't make any sense      I know that we haven't seen the last of Red John             Abbott, Fisher, and Whyle could all be Red John accomplices

"Red John zaps them with his trusty stun gun."

In episode 1, this is said by Brett Partridge, while he points an imaginary tazer at Lisbon, who is standing in front of him. (He is reenacting the murder that is being investigated)

Exactly 6 seasons later... Lisbon wakes up in hospital and she reveals the only trauma she suffered from Red John is a tazer burn.

I just thought that was weird.

Thomas McAllister was not Red John, he was one of RJ's disciples who was assigned the task by the leader of Blake Association(obviously Red John) to assume character of Red John(something we have seen before, Timothy Carter S03 finale ring any bells). There is no way that Red John who is a character who has been developed and slowly increasing in complexity for the entire mentalist series is suddenly revealed as McAllister in an episode which quality can be compared to the shit from my ass.

On that basis you can say Bruno Heller is just trying to trick us.. again. However he did include something which stuck out for me in S06E08, it must be subtle though because I don't seem to see anyone else picking up on it or thinking much of it.
Brett Partridge is the real Red John. You would already know a lot of other strong reasons to believe so accumulated yourself and/or read in many popular theories, on top of them this is what cemented BP being RJ for me, or at least McAllister definitely not being RJ.Notice these things in S06E08 final scene:1. A man standing watching the child playing.2. His stance/posture.3. His resemblance (in build/posture) to Brett Partridge.4. Listen to the audio. Here is the part in the final scene I refer to. (if doesn't near the end of the video at first then skip to about 57sec-1min and watch to the end).http://youtu.be/cfbXiMoeRsc?t=57s

The richer details about episode 8 being Kim Fischer's dream are very convincing. (The little girl looking like Kim, Jane talking Spanish, Rigsby and Van Pelt's personality being wrong because she doesn't know them personally.)
Its Kim Fischer's dream on her flight to Mexico, and it is based on FBI case files she read.

Here is a very fine detail, which is wrong with the dream. The positions of Jane's wife and child's graves are the wrong way round in episode 8.

In episode 22 of season 4, Jane visits his wife and child's graves. There are closes ups of each grave and it is very clearly shown Charlotte's grave is on the left and Angela's grave is on the right. In episode 8, Angela's grave is on the left and Charlotte's is on the right. That is wrong!

Brett Partridge: Maybe they just made a mistake?

Patrick Jane: No. They could have put the graves the right way around, but they didn't, because it's a dream.

Brett Partridge: Interesting theory...

Patrick Jane: You know what your problem is my friend, you take hating a little too seriously. If you don't get horny attacking Bruno Heller's writing, then I'm Britney Spears.

Thank you for reading.

(And yes, this means there is no proof Thomas McAllister is Red John)

How Red John got the list;

First of all:

- Sean Barlow tells Lisbon where she was at the time of a murder. This shows her phone is traced.
- Lisbon says her childhood memory is her mother feeding pigeons. A woman from the Visualize ceremony comes dressed up as Brett Partridge and feeding pigeons, two episodes later. This shows Lisbon is bugged .

Second of all:

- Red John can keep bodies on ice to prevent decomposition. In season 2, he demonstrated this with Towlen Morning's frozen body
- Brett Partridge could access bodies and retrieve Miranda Roman's body and do a switch on the DNA database. There is a heavy amount of make-up and Jane notices this.

Third of all: Jane intentionally tells Lisbon the list. The trick is, he says one name on-screen before he is interrupted by the weekly murder mystery. It's rational to conclude all the names were said. When Red John returns the list on the same night, he actually falls into Jane's trap.

If you look at the list,"Bob Kirkland" is the only person whose name is not wrote in full . Jane *uses* Bob Kirkland and the Blake Association is exposed, and Red John's Visualize links are gone. Not bad. The trick was Jane's all along.

Bob Kirkland has many people working for his Homeland Investigation. In episode 8 of season 2, after Minelli's speech, you see Minelli is waiting for someone at the gates of CBI. A person in full black suit steps out of a limo. This is Bob Kirkland, who Minelli has been sending reports to, for years (since Red Dawn).

Minelli retires, and agrees that Gale Bertram should become boss, as he is a spy in Tyger Tyger. Fast forward 3 seasons, and you hear Bob Kirkland on the phone to "Tom". This is McAllister. Bob Kirkland also had a plan with Reede Smith. Smith's phone is tapped and traced, as evident when he is tracked down after handing himself in. When he "meets" with Reede in the park, they both pretend they don't know each other, because they have a trick planned.

Later on, the man with a more obvious beer belly is shot by Smith. This was Michael Kirkland, who had a drinking problem, as stated by Bob to Patrick Jane. The trick switch is done, and Bob is free.

I hope you would agree, the meeting of the 3 suspects of Reede, McAllister and Bertram is to talk about the arrests of BA members. And when Reede Smith says 'It's your job to know,' he is saying Bob Kirkland has tasked them with finding out how close Jane is to capturing Red John.

When Jane invites 3 of Kirkland's spies to the meeting of 5 suspects, Gale Bertram phones Bob Kirkland and informs Bob. Bob Kirkland is the only person with access to a military grade bomb. He can provide surrogates for the blast. Bob Kirkland knew that only since his 3 spies weren't Red John, one of the other people attending were.

After the first concussion bomb, you can see a black car, travelling in the opposite direction to Lisbon. Kirkland has kidnapped Stiles and Haffner. This makes sense as Jane wakes up later than everyone still left in his house.

Then Gale Bertram escapes capture using a SWAT suit in his home and someone called SWAT divisions from different regions. Only Bob Kirkland, a homeland agent could do that. The suit being in Bertram's house shows that Kirkland has planned this out very carefully.

End episode 7.

2 years passes after Episode 7! Not after episode 8. Episode 8 is a very special episode.

-----------------------------------------
Start episode 8: You cannot trust anything you see in episode 8. This episode is based on Kim Fischer's dream, just before she arrives in Mexico. First you'll want proof:

- the little girl closing the door looks like young Kim Fischer
- Jane is speaking Spanish in the episode, so she is obviously expecting him to speak it as he's been in Mexico for 2 years
- the events you see unfold are based on real FBI case files. Jane is suspected to have murdered Thomas McAllister.
- While the FBI agent personalities are spot on, the CBI team's is not. Grace would never bang her head.would never say "You're even worse than Cho". Their personalities are wrong because Kim doesn't know them.

Before the explosion at Jane's house, there is a gun in Jane's back pocket with Jane's fingerprints. Kirkland could have taken it. He was setting up DNA for some fake murders. He has the devious potential to pull of a masterful trick. In episode 8, we see this gun is placed in McAllister's hand. Noone witnessed any of these so-called murders at the point a person physically died.

I'm saying Bob Kirkland framed Jane for the murder of McAllister. So who is the killer? The very creepy Bob Kirkland. Thomas McAllister died a large distance away from Gale Bertram. It's like Kirkland was killing off loose ends.

Bob Kirkland always said he was willing to kill 7 people to get the job done.

He directly or indirectly killed Ben Marx, Michael Kirkland, the Barman, Gale Bertram, Oscar Cordeiro, Thomas McAllister and Ray Haffner, who Bob thought was the real Red John.

Earlier, I said Bob Kirkland kidnapped Haffner AND Stiles. I bet Stiles was tortured by Kirkland, but he never broke. That is, he never revealed the true identity of Red John. He must have blamed Haffner.

In My Blue Heaven, we see Roger. That is Bret Stiles, driven insane by torture. At some point, Stiles was handed over to Jane. (In the church probably).

At this point, there is no evidence that Red John, Brett Partridge was ever involved in events after Jane's house. He is safe and alive. "Red John" is figuratively dead because there is no way he can gather followers. First of all, he can't gather followers from Visualize as Stiles is away and incapacitated. Kirkland broke the conspiracy by getting the names of all BA members, from Bertram's flashdrive. And "Brett Partridge," doesn't have a job as a forensic scientist anymore.

Eventually, Jane will screw up and go under trial for the murder of Thomas McAllister. And he will be cleared. And Red John will be sat at his new home, watching as the judge says "Cleared of all charges!" Game on.
