Now that the whole world i disappointed about the Red John identity it's a great opportunity for BH (if he is smart) to play a little mind game with all of us and be the mentalist, and after a few episodes to reveal and shock us that McAllister was a set up and the real RJ is Partridge :) that would be the perfect twist of the whole show and a real satisfaction to all creative mentalist fans :) but if this is the end i would say that this was one of the worst endings i have ever seen

Right at the end of the episode, Brett Partridge is watching a little girl go down a slide. I didn't know Red John had a family.

Did anyone else notice in the very last 4-5 seconds of Episode 8 of this season, that the sombre and haunting music turns quite sinister?

It starts when a man comes on screen with his hands clasped behind his back as he watches a little girl go down a slide ( we presume his daughter).

I wonder....

Is this is the same man that sits between Jane and Timothy Carter in the red sweater?

Is it too much to ask that the man is in both episodes that Jane thinks he's killed Red John?

Are the rumours about the Red John episode on Sunday being a hoax true?

And are they really showing a new promo of the Red John episode today?

I am writing in a time, where 95% of Mentalist fans have abandoned hope. They tell me Red John was thwarted by a pigeon. They tell me to move on with my life, to accept it. They tell me I'm dumb, I'm foolish.

NO. I will hunt down the real Red John, and cut him open and watch him die slowly, just like the way Heller mercilessly scarred the Red John Story. I've been with Jane every step of this journey. I'm not leaving him.

I am in a 5% who believe in The Mentalist right now, all other fans have lost hope. I will not believe it is the only episode until "My Blue Heaven" airs.

I hope I reawaken the hope in some, because our numbers our dwindling by the second. Real or not, I do this because I am a true fan.

RJ is not dead,

When Kimbal goes to check on the dead body of partridge you don't see the face.
But the tattoo is cut of his arm.
The only reason is because the body is replaced with another body.
When Jane tells mcallister how he figured out how he wasn't killed in the explosion, the name of partridge came to mention.
He had the ability to replace dna or put other bodies on the crimescene.
And that's the only reason the tattoo is cut out of the arm, because there never was a tattoo.... Because it's another man.
Last but not least, Jane knows about this.  If RJ was mcallister, he wouldn't have come to the chapel. Jane had no other chose then to kill mcallister so RJ could take his time hunting him. And when RJ is close, jane will be waiting for him to strike the final blow.
