THE THEORIES

OK, Partridge being the first to die and being killed by RJ is starting to make me suspicious along with the fact that Cho only looked at his arm, not his face and that Jane wouldn't answer to Lisbon as to "what this means" is also bothering me a bit and tells me there's something more to this.

Also, the odds of it being Berstorm are low and if it points to him I would say they're using the bald guy thing as a red herring to divert attention from McCallister.

I am also suspicious of the guy encountered in the curch being RJ as it seems that Jane isn't talking directly to that person and is talking to someone behind him.

I also think the "handshake" might be more significant as someone that Jane hypnotized at some point since his hypnotism involves a hand shake.  There might be an explanation that he hypnotized RJ and awoke the demon within.

I know this is insane and it would take out a major star, but I can't get out of my mind that it's Lisbon.  Strange, I know but it's stuck there.

I've posted some of the below in comments because the site wouldn't let me upload a new theory ... but here goes...

I think a persuasive way of reconciling Cho being a good cop with the body in the morgue being not BP is as follows:

- Cho is working with Jane whereas at the same time Jane is misleading Lisbon (I like the Lisbon is bugged theory/ies);

- this is supported by one of the advanced reviews of "Red John" stating "it is always good to have Cho on your side";

- either Cho noticed that the body didn't belong to BP and only told Jane (when Lisbon wasn't around) OR Jane specifically asked Cho to not draw any attention to the face.

After watching the scene where Lisbon & Jane discuss the possibility of BP being a member of The Blake Association I am more convinced that perhaps Jane is setting something up. All Jane says is "Partridge", then Lisbon brings up the fact that he said "Tyger, Tyger" to her before he died. Jane then says "He was asking for help" ... but this doesn't make sense, he is dying, obviously killed by someone, so why would he only want help from a tyger cop, wouldn't he take help from any cop? Seems like Jane is saying this to throw RJ off track (if he is listening through Lisbon). (BP fans, including myself, would want to believe BP said this to throw PJ off track and unravel The Blake Association - not asking for help).

Then Jane says to Lisbon something like "we have to see the body"... If RJ is listening in, and used any body that looked similar to BP (without a tattoo), maybe it was easier for RJ to get a TT member in the Morgue just to cut off a chunk of the left shoulder instead of imprinting the tattoo on? (or perhaps at the time they cut off a chunk instead of tattooing it?)

Also, Jane specifically says he wants Cho to do this ("have Cho bring a shovel"). Then Cho sends the image of the shoulder to Lisbon and not to Jane (Lisbon shows Jane) - perhaps to fool RJ into thinking they are following up the shoulder which is what RJ wants them to do. (We know Jane can also receive emails --- Van Pelt sent him the coded message from the vault).

anyway there a probably lots of ways to explain the above (or perhaps there are no clues embedded in that exchange at all) --- but it's always fun writing, sharing & collaborating on theories :)

I'm not as sure as I was last week that BP = RJ, but we have a few days to keep the (awesome) story alive even if it turns out not to be the case :)

You're not going to believe this obviously, but within 10 Minutes of the start of the episode you'll know I wasn't bullshitting so to speak.

McAllister appears at the start. When you don't hear McAllister say "the game is over, I won," that's when you'll know Brett Partridge is redjohn. He won't appear until Patrick does something very out of character in his meeting with Bertram in the park. At the end you'll see Patrick janes biggest plan in the history of the Mentalist. All 7 suspects are alive! Including Robert Kirkland who plays a surprisingly large role in the plan. And 3 people who were in the meeting in Bertram's office turn out to be "good guys" When I say good I mean like Robert Kirkland, who murdered people to catch redjohn. The only people who weren't on Patricks team were stiles and haffner. Lisbon wasn't killed because redjohn had her bugged and much of Patricks plan was misinformation. tyger tyger is fully exposed via the flash drive from Bertram.

Once again, 10 minutes in you will know I wasn't making up shit.

At first i think that Brett Patridge is red john and it would make the best one.

-In all episodes which he appears it is obvious that he does not get along with patrick and if you remember lorelei said and i quote ''i only wonder why the two of you did not become lifelong friends the moment you shook hands'' which is a little hint in my opinion that they did not get along too.And all the other facts that we have all heard.

-I changed my opinion about sheriff mcallister because i just finished the first episode for the second time and in the place where red john supposedly killed patridge and captured lisbon were pidgeons which as we know sheriff fears them. (I know,not a strong arguement).

-Brett Stiles has all the wrong physical requirements.

-Gale Bertram is a good option but i do not think that he is clever enough to be red john and after seeing episode 7 i am convinced that he is a red herring.

-Reed Smith not a chance after seeing episode 7 for obvious reasons.

-Ray Haffner i can not disclaim him because he is a good option,but i think from the storyline they wanted him to be too obvious like learning from Season 5 that he was a member of Visualise.One of the hints.In my opinion,just a red herring.

-Bob Kirkland i am pretty sure that hi is dead.But i can not argue with the idea that his twin is red john.I read a lot of theories for michael and i find them interesting.

Nevertheless,as i said in the beginning i believe red john is Brett Pattridge because he fits the criteria and to be honest i like the character too much when he is in the same place with Patrick disagreeing all the time and showing us that he is a little afraid of him,but in his eyes you can see a well hidden anger.Wonderfully written character for being a suspect and wonderfully played by the actor!!

Ok, so I have been thinking about the whole scene where Cho is checking out Partridge's shoulder in the morgue and I have been puzzling how this would square with the possibility of Partridge possibly being alive and Cho not noticing that the body wasn't really that of Partridge. Just couldn't reconcile it. But while reading comments on a different theory I found this comment by sjn:

"regardless ...in one of the advanced reviews of "Red John" didn't someone say "it's always good to have Cho on your side" or something like that? Maybe Cho is working with Jane and in the morgue he notices that the body doesn't belong to Partridge, but keeps it quiet from Lisbon etc and only lets Jane know. ..................
 anyway as i said still not certain it's RJ but just writing to say there may be a way to explain the body not being BP's whilst still maintaining Cho's reputation as a good cop. and the comment from the reviewer could support this ..."

To me this could be a possibility. Hmmmmmm.......
