i think that red john is partridge because heller said that we can trust in the list and many people can tell that partridge is dead, even i think that he was dead until i saw the last episode ,his face is never showed and when the picture is send jane tells lisbon what do you think it means and in that moment i knew that jane knows that partridge is red john because tells everybody that bertram is red john is a tramp to partridge,he would think that again is a step ahead jane but this time jane is more smart that red john.

Ok. If you don't think Partridge is Red John, you think Patrick is going to catch Red John using a plan he makes up on the spot. You're effectively calling Patrick a dumbass, you're saying Red John is psychic and Bruno Heller made up a crappy ending.

Partridge is Red John. "The game's over and I won." That is Jack Plotnick. It was not the guy in the church saying that line. It was Partridge in the park.

Someone mentioned the change scene from this last weeks episode as being important and I have thought that from the moment that I saw it. While everyone else was focused on the tea cup breaking, which I viewed as a symbol of everything coming to an end and this phase of The Mentalist crashing into a thousand pieces and to never be the same again. I thought the change seen was odd and out of place. I thought it was a message for Patrick to meet whoever at the church. It has been my belief that there was a Saints medallion among the change and now I'm sure of it. I did some research on churches in Sacremento and discovered that one is Saint Paul's Cathedral. In the change was a medallion of Saint Paul, which is what led Patrick to that specific church.

Okay so this is the first time I am posting a theory and it comes from the perspective of a PR specialist that does teasers, promo's and such for a living.

Just like Batman is the real person and Bruce Wayne is the mask, I believe RJ is the real personality with Patridge being the mask. So when this page and producers say "its not Patridge", its not the same thing as saying "its not this actor" they are just saying this character is not the killer, his alter ego is.

A play on words perhaps?

If Patridge the person and the actor playing him are truly really genuinely gone from the show, then its McAllister and if not, I'm dead sure its Patridge.

Teresa Lisbon is bugged. This is why Red John spared her. She’s being used to gather information.

Gale Bertram is working with Robert Kirkland, in season 5. Kirkland asks “Can we trust her?” What he’s asking is, is Lisbon in Tyger Tyger? Bertram says “Can we trust anyone?”

Not many people know this but Season 2 is the first time Robert Kirkland makes an appearance. Minelli is ready to meet with him. After Minelli meets, with him, Minelli retires and Gale Bertram becomes Director of CBI. Robert Kirkland planted Gale Bertram in Tyger Tyger. Minelli agrees to this move because they know it will help Bertram collect information on the conspiracy in California law- enforcement.

Gale Bertram is working with Reede Smith and Thomas McAllister to clean up law-enforcement. They are all undercover in Tyger Tyger to gather information. Kirkland has talked to Smith. Kirkland has talked to a “Tom” on the phone. Kirkland has talked to Bertram.

Robert Kirkland was switched out of prison with Michael Kirkland. Robert, a free man talks to Patrick about Tyger Tyger. This is how Patrick knows about “Tyger Tyger” when he’s talking to Reede Smith in Great Red Dragon. Patrick needs Kirkland in the plan after Patrick will blow up his house. Kirkland needs to be on standby to call all SWAT units to Bertram’s house at the right moment. He will also get access to a SWAT uniform for Bertram’s escape.

Kirkland provides dead bodies for Patrick. DNA is easily faked. Bob Kirkland and Thomas McAllister kidnap Haffner and Stiles at Patrick’s house. McAllister is to return to Red John, and work to Red John’s instructions. Patrick tells Reede Smith to run for a while and turn himself in, later. Gale Bertram has had the full details of his more elaborate plan.

Gale Bertram calls Robert Kirkland, after Patrick invites him to the meeting in his house- this is when he gets briefed.

During the meeting, whose phone is in Patrick’s car? Lisbon’s. Who hears a gunshot and an explosion. Red John. Because her phone is bugged. Patrick is totally playing Red John.

Gale Bertram leaves a flash drive full of the names of everyone in Tyger Tyger, while he was a fugitive.

Gale Bertram appears to try and kill Patrick in front of Lisbon. You know who is bugged? Lisbon. You know who thinks Gale Bertram actually tried to kill her? Red John. Who woke up just as Bertram was ordering Lisbon away? Jane. Jane and Bertram are both in on the charade.

Gale Bertram killed a Bartender. Bertram orders ice in his scotch. Bertram smashed the bottle on his head. Then what happens next is misinterpreted; he is not shoving glass into his neck. You can hear the movement of ice on each “strike”. It is unclear what he is actually doing, but you see him give a concerned glance to the Bartender as he leaves.


Gale goes to his house. Puts on the SWAT uniform and gets away. Patrick shouts “He’s one of them.” Lisbon hears, so Red John hears. Red John thinks Patrick truly thinks Bertram is Red John.



Next Episode:

Expect Thomas McAllister to be sent to Patrick, by Red John, to mess with him.
Expect Patrick to pretend to give mercy to McAllister.

Expect Red John to respond to this by agreeing to meet Patrick. He’ll send Bertram, who he’ll pose as Red John.
Expect Patrick to not allow CBI to come with him.

Expect Red John to attend to watch Patrick try and kill Bertram.
Expect Patrick to take Teresa’s gun.
The Climax of the Charade: During the meeting of Patrick and Bertram, Patrick will give Bertram the gun. Patrick will say something like “One way or another, you’re finishing what you started 10 years ago, right now. Kill me or let go of this game.” Then Patrick will get up and walk away. As Patrick walks out, and is well away, then Red John, once known as Brett Partridge reveals himself. “Hi.”


Oh wait he's dead, so this storyline won't work. *cough* *cough* *cough* Guess they need a new way to tie up the 50 loose ends. *cough*

in the last episode jane plays a game with the police officer who got caught as tyger tyger member..
jane said he asks him questions and he has to answer it with his mimic etc.

so jane asked him if reede smith is red john, but he knew its not true cause of his face mimic
then he asked if it's gale bertram and he saw again in his mimic its not true..

so jane was sure its one of the "dead suspects" but he didn't tell anyone cause he wants to catch red john himself and cause he wants red john make think that he really dont knows it so red john doesn't pay attention cause he thinks jane dont knows..but im sure red john is smart enough to know that jane knows its not gale bertram..

i think red john is brett partridge, since they showed us mcallister in the promo it would be too obvious if he's red john..

they said mcallister died but i think mcallister had the bomb under his hat that he left on the couch so bret stiles and ray haffner died..cause mcallister was the only one who knew about the bomb he prepared to escape from jane's house..but that does not mean that mcallister is red john! maybe mcallister was with red john in the car that we saw when lisbon arrived to janes house..
