Why are you posting your twisted theories about Mashburn, Van Pelt, Jane becoming Red John.

Red John is one of the seven, and he'll be revealed at the end of the ep 7. called "The Great Red Dragon". And the revealing is REAL because Jane can't lie at the press conference for his personal revenge, because he able to put a lot of peolple in danger if he lies. Because Red John hate lies...

A suspect told jane that red john had 3 dot tattoo on his left hand
Jane brings all 5 left suspects and figures three of them have the tattoo
Burtram ,smith and Mcallister so I assumed it must be some group
That would explain why did Burtram ask Mcallister and smith "how much does he know" after talking to Jane

Thank u all for pointing out details such as Bertram bends down twice. Also Haffner shows his innocent shoulder but in exactly the line of dots. And I googled Blake's dragon painting and saw the three loops. Wouldn't have noticed without this conversation.

I think this statement by Heller narrows things down a bit: "The Red John story is going to be moving at a very fast pace with no vamping, no tricks. Well, there'll be tricks, but we won't be fooling the audience or messing with them," Heller said.   

I believe that means no “Lorelei is alive”, no “it’s Michael Kirkland, the missing twin” no “it’s John Johnson” the guy we saw only that once and definitely no “it’s Van Pelt because she has red hair and likes to have sex all the time”, lol.

It doesn’t necessarily preclude Partridge faking his own death, I still figure that as a possibility since dedicated fans wouldn’t be fooled, as evidenced by the number of Partridge theories on this site, but most of the other more creative theories are out the window IMO.

Personally, I still believe Partridge is dead and it’s Haffner or Bertram for various reasons that have been talked about ad naseum .

I don't know if it is Bertram, but I just wanted to point out that other than Red John and Patrick Jane, Bertram has been the only one to drink tea. (Out of the viable suspects, maybe the mother of a victim once had tea with Jane, or something, I don't recall) Also, they made Bertram's tea pretty prominent and obvious in the scene. (Season 3 finale, Strawberries and Cream part 2, when Lisbon tells Bertram that they know where Madeleine Hightower is, and give him the hotel address.

I think Gale Bertram is the most likely suspect. I think several of his actions since being introduced on the show demonstrate the narcissism that Red John is famous for.

1. Patrick Jane was *literally* sitting with Red John at the mall, prior to the fake Red John showing up.
2. Gale Bertram says to Patrick, "when you catch Red John, I'll be there"
3. Gale Bertram says, "I know that sometimes I must appear calculating, even duplicitous to you, but please understand it comes with the job description. I am many things to many people."
4. Gale Bertram quotes William Blake (not the same poem as The Tiger, and not under RJ circumstance)
5. Gale Bertram is constantly involved with the media. Whether he's talking to the press on behalf of the CBI, reading the newspaper (a scene we have seen often), or discussing the media with team, he is always seemingly conscious of it. This ties directly in to Red John saying, in the first episode, "I do not like being slandered in the media"
