THE THEORIES

I think Gale Bertram could be Red John, because when (i don't know in which episode) they told the place to him and to Craig O'Laughlin, where they will (the team) catch Madeleine Hightower, the killer who was sent to kill her (the killer who jumped down from the ledge) went first to the room, which was mentioned to Bertram, but she brought a rope with her if Craig's (which was mentioned to Craig) room was the real! So this is my theory!

In season 5 episode 16, Red John kills Lorelei. In episode 22 it is revealed by the CD that Red John knows the 7 suspects in Jane's list even before Lorelei was killed, since Lorelei reads the list. But Bob Kirkland broke into Jane's office only in episode 19 since he does not know Jane's list previously. So Bob is not Red John.
In season 3 final episode, there were 5 people suspected as Red John accomplice including Bertram and O'Laughlin. In the Trap Jane sets, the assassin climbs down to Bertram's room by Fire stairs and is about to climb down to O'Laughlin's room through a rope. Why not directly climb down the fire escape to O'Laughlin's room? Because Bertram was Red John and O'Laughlin was his accomplice, each were given a different room number, he wanted to check both rooms. Also, in Red Queen, Bertram quotes a poem from William Blake. Red John also quotes William Blake's "Tyger Tyger".
For Sure- Bob Kirkland is not Red John
Probably- Bertram is Red John

Rob Kirkland is the one who had people break into Patrick's room and stole the information okay but we all know Kirkland isn't Red John but who do we know that Kirkland tells everything to Gale Bertram remember the scene where Gale and Kirkland were talking about Lisbon they said can we trust her? so that means Gale knows what Kirkland knows but Kirkland doesn't know that Gale aka Red John is only interested in working with him is so he knows what they know and he can always be one step ahead

Gale Bertrem may be on the list but i don't think he could be Red John.
Red John is a mastermind, he must be incredibally smart. He was able to basically browse Patricks mind. In the episode that showed the 'poker club' he kept losing and he couldn't even figure out why. He wasn't even able to figure out that that guy was calling his bluff! Do you really think a mastermind would lose at poker?

i have previously blogged 2 other theories regarding red johns identity equating to Gale Bertram HOWEVER;

NOW I AM 100% sure Bertram is Red John if he is ACTUALLY one of the 7 suspects, which i believe to be accurate,

I was watching Strawberries and Cream part 2 for the  umteenth time when i came to a startling realization

Outside of Jane and Lisbon's team in CBI, and ofcourse Gale Bertram

NOONE else could have possibly known about the meeting spot in the mall's food court for Bertram to lead red john into.

O' Laughlin had no knowledge of this location, so Timothy Carter had to have recieved this information from Gale Bertram...Unless of course, there is a leak between either Van Pelt, Rigsby or Cho...which i cant see being plausible.

The only other possible scenario for Red John discovering the location of Jane and Bertram's meeting spot in the food court is this:

when olauglin was cleared as a possible mole in CBI, Van Pelt informed him that Bertram was the mole and went on to describe in detail the sting INCLUDING the location of Janes meeting spot...This sounds very plausible, however it was never shown/ spoke of in the show AT ALL...wasnt even hinted at!!  I also dont feel that Bruno would expect us to assume Grace would inform Olauglin of this plan of Jane's.

Bottom Line is that Partridge, Kirkland, Stiles, Mcallister, Smith, and Hafner couldnt have possibly had the knowledge of the food court meeting spot, and that BERTRAM not only had knowledge of this spot, but had PLENTY of time to prepare Timothy Carter for his role as Red John and was also able to dial down the timing of his appearance to the exact minute of when he left the food court... THIS PROVES GALE BERTRAM HAS  TO BE RED JOHN!!!! my only question is why it took me so freaking long to realize this!!!!

I believe Gal Bertram is Red John and that he is using Brett Partridge  and Bob Kirkland to help him avoid getting caught by PJ. I do not believe that Lisbon is tied to Red John in anyway, shape or form.

Okay. We all know the poem that Red John recites to Patrick in the Finale of season 2. It's a part from the poem "The Tyger" by William Blake. I was just re-watching Episode 16 of season 3. And Gale makes a reference that goes as, "When thy little heart doth wake, Then the dreadful night shall break.", which is a part of the poem "Cradle Song" also by William Blake. He also says that he likes the poem. So maybe the appreciation that Red John and Gale Bertram share for William Blake is an indication as to who he really is?
