If you want to see red john watch episode 7 from season 1. "Seeing Red" is the title.

The episode is about a rich wife of en ex Lieutenant Governor who is murdered. The whole time you believe the son is guilty but in the end it was the sister. The male is always the first accused and the cop on the scene said he was 90% sure it was the boy. Lisbon said "what about the other 10%?" Reminded me of the current red john situation. About 10 percent of hope that he/she is alive .

Kristina freye is introduced and is frigid as they come. She is not a psychic. She knew everything about that murder because she set it up. She made the daughter kill her own mother. I dont know how but she is good. Freye is always controlling everything whenever we see her in this show. Putting herself in investigations that suit her fancy. And people believe her ! She mocks jane and stood up for red john on the topic of janes murdered family!

Back to the ep: My girl GVP is livid the whole episode. She becomes enamored by frye and sticking up for her like they were sisters. She just met the lady and even talked back to lisbon to stick up for freye .

GVP gets mad at Jane for "disrespecting the occult". Those two really did not get along in season 1. A lot of heated arguments between the two of them over ghost and heaven. It was really a big underlining theme in the show back then.

The episode ends with Kristina telling Patrick that she spoke to his wife. And that his daughter didn't suffer and was asleep the whole time ..
There are no real psychics on this show. Patrick is right to not believe in it and the Barlow family can go f themselves..
She did not speak to his wife . She wanted to make him cry. And ironically Grace sees jane crying gives a cold look and shuts the door.
It was the perfect end to the episodes theme of frye +GVP vs. Jane.
7 is a magic number . Episode 7 was quite magically in that i realized that Kristina Freye is a FRAUD just like Ellis Mars but she is a lot more dangerous because she is good at faking it . Jane said "the good ones are the most dangerous".

I have a red barn theory that id like to share with yall.

The bodies found in the barn were bound and tied up just like red john victims but it was way back in 1988. If red john committed those murders then we would of seem more murders like that before 1998. Serial killers don't usually take a 10 year break after their first kill..

I believe red johns friends or family were the ones that were killed but by somebody else . And this tragic event most likely created the monster of red john. Could it of been grace van pelts family or friends or maybe haffners ? I have no idea but i am pretty sure red john did NOT commit those specific murders due to the timeline.

A few more weeks and the show finally comes back!!!

Here is my list of people to look out for because Macalister was a pawn. He may of been innocent too since jane was so hurt by killing him. Jane just wanted it to be over with because the real plan was to get cbi shut down .

Grace van pelt- red john loves hacking her computer and her dark past will hopefully finally be brought to light. She digs visualize yet didnt join? Maybe she has her own visualize-like cult she attends? Does she kill her own hubby? I can see it since she cant even say "i love you" back to him.

Wayne Rigsby- i know he seems to be the opposite of red john and i have a feeling he may be killed soon since on twitter two weeks ago he said he just shot his final episode . Carson springs and being beaten by his father as well as having mother issues makes him a red suspect. But mostly Carson springs and his Gabe Nyland connection.

Cbi ron- everyones favorite jobber . A jobber is a lower level wrestler thats just there to be there . But season 6 the camera loved ron and showed him everywhere ! He drove away when he saw van pelts bf with a gun and his voice is very red john like. He may of answered Lisbon's phone when jane called her too. Check that scene out ....

Styles, Haffner, Cooper- the visualize boys are always great suspect especially if styles and Haffner are alive. Red john always seems like a visualize vigilante as opposed to the BA.

Kristina Freye- she left her house and packed a bag and seemed sympathetic towards red johns ways. She went on a talk show while being captive and is most likely faking her trance like coma . Roll tide.

Rosalind Harker - is she really blind? Is she playing us all and not just red johns booty call? We shall see...

Fischer- Spied on patrick yet Abbot had no idea where patrick was , so who hired her ? And what happened in her dark past ?

Wylie - coyote reference leads me to believe he may be a hunter like RJ. Seemed socially awkward then found patrick on his own time and was given access to everything ! Shady. Plus he learned how to talk magically .

Lisbons new boyfriend - what better person to make red john than Lisbon's lover ? Jane will be jeleous and suspicious of him. The fbi is a snake pit and the main reason why jane took the job was too investigate them !

Gabe Nyland - not sure about him but he seems to be in bed with visualize . He has power and flexes it frequently . Look out for him...

Mashburn- i never saw him as red john but ya never know .

Patrick jane - shutter island situation although i find it unlikely . Red john wants jane to join him and said "imagine the life we could lead " ...but still ya never know ...

I know a lot of people have said the mentalist has ripped off other shows well listen to this.
The hbo show "true detectives" with Mathew maconahey and Woody Harleson is a really good show but it is just like the mentalist in many ways.
Main character lost his daughter , cant sleep, and can see right thru people. Same religious views as jane as he could care less. Very pessimistic view of life and humans.
He is looking for a serial killer with his partner woody harelson who has a lot of accolades and plays things by the logical book.
The serial killer kills woman and uses cult like tattoos and symbols on the victim. He or she most likely is part of a crazy church in a red barn like southern setting. His followers call him god.
There is a BA like political pull and push putting pressure on the investigation. A religious head of church type guy has a lot of power . Friend of mayor. Seems evil.

It made me even more pumped up for the mentalist cuz i know Macalister was NOT godlike or had the mental fortitude to be a crazy serial killer with followers who would die for him happily and not gang members like the BA.

I forget who on this site brought up the many pineapple references in the show.
You were not kidding, there are tons of pineapple mentions throughout the whole series!
Heller does hate pineapples or at least finds them to be evil.

One thing i realized was that Van Pelt and Rigsby like pineapple on their pizza.

Todd johnson was a strange character.
I have a feeling todd did not kill his own girlfirend and that it was a sacrifice for red john but i may be wrong.
The cops that he killed may of been BA .
The dad of the daughters taken by red john and dumar in season 1 was old money run the town BA type too.
A part of me thinks red john is waging war with the BA and not a member or leader of it himself.
