Well guys figure out who Nick, the actor playing young red john, looks like?
for me it is quite clear who he is...if he is red john indeed!

First off let me say that I believe that Jane kills Red John. I think this Q & A in a Bruno Heller interview expresses that very clearly ...

Two regulars, Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman, are leaving at the end of this season. How has that affected the season and how are you wrapping up Van Pelt and Rigsby's arc?

You can't go around murdering people just because you have a vigilante desire to do so, so it means Jane is in a very difficult position and the rest of the team are in a very difficult position at that point."

Having read that I also think (based on other responses) that Bruno Heller is slightly defensive about the Red John reveal and talks about the show carrying on without Red John which to me means Red John is either an inconsequential character or the story line is much different than we all think and could be seen as silly or anticlimactic.

What I cannot wrap my head around is ...

1. CLEARLY no one on the list of seven is Red John be it for reasons of weight or age or death or whatever. Let's be honest Jane knows for certain that the person walking in this video @ 0:26 is not Reede Smith and Patrick knows that ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKZvmwU1ufg-not to mention the 6x04 30 second preview http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/10/the-mentalist-episode-604-red-listed_9712.html ... which clearly states the list is fake

2. This is 100% Patrick Jane's voice ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ik4c1OZyomM ...If you skip to 1:18 in the video and just listen to "It's a higher path PATRICK" the grovel in his voice is identical to Jane's. Same frequency, same pitch, same everything. It's the one time where Red John sounds exactly like Patrick Jane. 

So while I believe Patrick kills Red John and the show carries on (which I would enjoy) with a "much more joyous character" as Bruno Heller puts it and a "weight has been lifted" with Lisbon and Jane exploring feelings for each other I also believe that Red John's voice is Simon Baker's voice so I am actually completely confused and that's probably exactly how Bruno Heller wants it

There are not a whole lot of people on the show whom walk like Red John, can talk like Red John & have a slender frame like Red John. I think talk = Jane or his non existent twin brother ... frame and walk = Rigsby ... 

Guys i think jane has another suspect beside the other ones
and thats why he kinf of smiled when red john knew the list of suspects
so i think probabley the 8th suspect is redjohn or redjohn's associate .

This is my personal list of suspects and it has only 4 suspects :
Raymond Haffner ( because of sophie miller's descriptions )

Bob Kirkland ( because he is the smartest one in the show after patrick and red john and he also killed lenon who was the only one knew who red john is )

CBI Ron ( i dont think a have to say why , he is around always and if he dont have an accual part in the show then why is he even in the show ! and more thikns was said in the last theories so i dont have to say it again )

Walter Mashburn ( because he is charming , rich , has power and no one will ever tell that he is red john , so maybe he accualy is red john .. and between you and me the passion of sophie miller ( washburn ) , im pretty shure he is red john not jay roth and washburn = mashburn ( turn the m W ) )

and Brett Patrtridge if he is still alive 

I have always been an advocate of PJ as RJ or at least the possibilty of it being him. They constantly do teases that it is. Here are a couple from the last episode. 1) PJ is scared of heights. Evidence - when he gets taken out onto the church roof, before hand he says. I would love to go out there but i dont have wings charlie. He then proceeds to crawl and pretty much say ooooooh. Then something like Charlie saying we will find a way down and PJ saying that is what i am afraid of. He is also terrified when the sheriff helps him and crawls back in.2( he then says and I quote "sending out mixed messages is one of my many failings" 3) mcallister then says at your disposal any time 4) Why did PJ not enter the wedding,. STRANGE.

Patrick Jane is not Red John. Bruno Heller has said so in an interview. :)

I believe Patrick Jane IS Red John.
Before dismissing this theory think about it,
Red John is believed to be a manipulative, highly intelligent, man.
Red John is able to convince people to give up their lives for him willingly.
Kind of how Jane is able to convince the CBI to break laws for him,
Not to mention the countless other people who he has convinced into doing things.
Jane is smart, manipulative and to be quite honest I just don't think anyone
Could do the character "Red John" any justice other than Jane himself.
Red John has been made up to be this invincible, unbeatable guy,
I just can't see any of the chumps Jane's got on the list as being Red John.
Unless they can get Gary Oldman to play Red John then it's gotta be Jane himself.
No one else is worthy of the part. Unless of course it was lisbon but that's besides the point.
My theory is that Patrick Jane has split personality disorder.
He is completely unknowing of his other side.
He is fighting himself, and that's why it's so hard for him to catch this guy.
That's why it's so hard for anyone to catch this guy.
This is my theory.

This may be an odd one to throw out there and I don't have much basis. The only weird idea that comes to mind in dealing with everything involved... is that Patrick Jane could have a second personality... Red John.

Am I the only one to have this subconscious feeling?
