I don't understand how people can think RJ is someone other than Haffner or the sheriff.
Red John is one of those two.

In the season promo, at 0:20 sec, there are 3 smileys, so there are 3 bodies: Cho (on the far right), Van Pelt (in the middle) and Rigsby (on the floor, in front of her, but we only see his feet).

There is a person with Lisbon and it is NOT Jane, cuz he never wears a tie and always wears a vest. This man has a tie and no vest.

He looks like Haffner, from the haircut. We then hear Jane scream "LISBON!", as a warning. Propably Haffner pulling out his knife or something...

But the images look washed out, so it could also be a dream sequence.... We'll see!

i lean towards Haffner by default, but there are other things I'd like to ask about...

       season 2e8...after MInelli's press conference, where he breaks protocol and actually speaks honestly, he's talking to Lisbon and someone in a black limo pulls up outside the gates... as Lisbon leaves, Minelli notices, pulls himself together, and starts walking towards the man coming from the car...Kirkland?? Minelli resigns a week later....Hellers interview spoke of much corruption in the California law enforcement.....also, I think Bosco gave Jane a clue as he died, and Lisbon seemed awfully interested in what it was...

     when Jane shows Lisbon the disc at the end of season 5, he presses play, and after it's done he destroys it...we never see him put it in the computer...only eject it...who knows what was really on the disc that Jane received...now, we know, because of that the part about the happy memory, that the disc has to be from Red John, but it's odd that Jane didn't want to reveal his list, but then he has no problem showing Lisbon the disc...obviously, Jane knew(or suspected) that someone was watching him, and I believe that the disc plays into his plan of finding the mole in the CBI...

       may be nothing, but some of the smiley faces look as if they were drawn with 3 fingers, as Partridge says they are, but some look different, like the one in the blind girls room, as if only drawn with two, like the fingers we see at the end of season 6 ep1...may be nothing, but who knows...

Hey guys... I have been thinking about who red john is for awhile now and i must say that i cannot tell for sure whi rj is but i came up with a theory and a possibility... First lets remove some suspects

Bret partrige - i think the dead wasnt fake, although he would make a great red john...
Sherif- he is just not the guy, he isnt the right age, height and the fact that he hasnt been shownin many episodes...
Reede smith - despite the fact that his name is an analog of the red is me Jane met him after the conversation about the handshake so that made me think, why would jane even put him on the list.. that makes me think that the list could be fake...
Gale bertram - i think he cant be rj, he acts wird when he says in 6s1e i hear you are getting closer, maby he is connected to him, but he isnt rj.

Now lets get to sirious facts and my theory..

Bob kirkland - i think that he is rj's brother.. i think that he is rj's right hand he asks the guy if he recodnises him simply because bob and the guy have seen before but bob have made a little transformation idk like he let his hair grew or smtning like that, he also thinks that jane doesnt know about stealing he information and i think jane planted the list. Ok lets move on

Brett styles - i think he is rj's father he knows very much about him, but he is on neither side, he just wants a good show either jane cathes red john or not.

So we are down to ray haffner - if the list is right i think he is the only one who could be red john. He is right age and right height.. in my oppinion people who are on the list will start dyingone by one and when cbi will think they finaly have red john even the last suspec on the list will die.. i think jane has another list, that has 1 more name on it and that one is red john, and that name exists just in janes head, he didnt tell it to noone because he knows that they would do something about that person if he told him.

Soo sure there are some questions abiut the happy memory and why would rj even kill his family...

Instead of picking a suspect that you think could potentaly be Red John what we need to do is elimanate the ones that cant be him  :)


1) Brett Stiles - Cant be - in 1988 Red John was a kid and was any where up to 30 in 1988 Brett Stiles (well his actor) would have been 43.
2) Brett Partridge - i cant dismiss him from being RJ but we will know by next episode if we see his body or not. NOTE his hight is also a good match for Roslands description
3) Robert (Bob) Kirkland - Yes we all know he killed a RJ acomplice he stole the fake list from Jane but my thoughts are that he is not RJ or an acomplice and is rather trying to find him himself as he is related to one of Red Johns victoms just like Jane plus he is a bit to short to be RJ
4) Sherrif Thomas Mcallister - Cant be - As in 1988 just like Stiles he was to old to be RJ he was 33 and woudint have been considered a kid.
5) Reede Smith - I have no clues pointing him to be RJ But in saying that I have no clues that tell me he isnt RJ aswell. NOTE he is 6'2 so does not fit Red Johns hight
6) Gale Bertram - For one Bertram is 6'3 so cant be Red John cause he is to tall But i defintly beleive he is an RJ acomplice
7) Ray Halfner - This would be my best guess to be RJ he worked at vissulise he is 6' tall he would have been 21 years old in 1988 and there could possibly be a reason why Red John didnt kill Lisbon because if Red John is Ray Halfner he wouldnt want to kill Lisbon as he likes Lisbon and just wanted to scare Jane to show him that he is still in controll

So from this we can elimanate Kirkland Stiles  Mcallister and possibly Bertram and Smith going by hight but since that isnt hard proof i will keep them as possible suspects leaving us with Partridge Halfner Smith and Bertram  and we will know by the next episode if Partidge is alive or dead witch will eather keep Partidge as a suspect if his body has disapeared  or dismiss him as suspect if his body is found dead (witch I beleive he is ) But if his body has some how gone from the scene then Partridge is your man because RJ never takes the bodys of his victoms away with him he always leaves them for people to see. So this would leave Bertram Smith Halfner and possibly Partridge  im telling you one of these 3 men is gonna be RJ :)

For me it's a tie between two people. There are only two people on the list that somehow fit Rosalind's description of RJ, that would be Ray Haffner and Brett Partridge. Unlike most people on this site, I believe Partridge is in fact dead. However, I believe all 7 have a connection to RJ in some way. My other pick would be Gale Bertram, I know in the season premiere his lines were obvious but hear me out, nobody else in the entire show refers to Jane as "Boy Wonder" which was his circus name. I realize he does not at all fit the description but I do believe he has a deeper connection to RJ than we suspect. Haffner at this point looks like the best suspect simply because of his high tech background and his description, but like many suspects that we have met in the show, he seems a bit "too good to be true" at this point. And allow me to address an ongoing theory on the site, if Partridge did fake his own death somehow, and there was no body to show for whenever they find Lisbon, don't you think Jane would automatically believe that Partridge is the #1 guy, to me that would be exactly what the real red john wants, so whenever they do not find a body, Jane is going to suspect that Partridge is not dead.

Facts, Assumptions & Deductions

I wanna say that i will assume every thing Bruno Heller said is a fact.
1-PJ is NOT RJ
2-RJ is in the list
3-Partridge is DEAD

If NOT then what we are trying to do here is pointless and we all the rights to say "Bruno, Go fuck yourself! You wasted our time!"

Misleading (arguably true) assumptions

1- Physical description by a blind woman
2- Story about shaking hands from a known RJ accomplice
3- no disappointment When RJ revealed :)

Deduction:

Could be anyone in the list but partridge.


Hunch:

We will se an eternal triangle between PJ, RJ & Lisbon. Ray Haffner fits all.
