In theory 11508, TheInsideGambit  makes a few good points. My solid pick for RJ is still Hafner, but if it's someone not on the list of 7, my money would be on Oscar Ardilles. He would definitely be a character where we look back and say, "OK, yes, I see that..."

He matches a lot of hints.

I still think it's Hafner, but Oscar is my wild card.

Did anyone else notice in the last episode 6x06, when patrick was sending the message to the suspects mccalister had an wedding ring on his left hand. Just like bertram has. I dont know if he is red john, but it was kinda weird he didnt had it when they were at patricks house.

Also i noticed that rj is left handed but is killing his victims with his right. He also shoots with his right. two suspects are lefty. one is haffner and the other is mccalister.

I still think that haffner is rj, but mccalister, partridge and kirkland would also be a great rj.

I've been visiting this site since almost the beginning, and must say I've enjoyed everyone's theories, but the time has almost come I'm nervous for the next 2 Sundays! Excited but nervous!!! Who else feels like this?

I love how it's already Sunday in Australia but I have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to watch :( 
Anyways, does anyone know if there's going to be a season 7 after this season?
I'm going to be so sad when The Mentalist ends. Although as predictable as it is, when they end, hope they end it with Jane and Lisbon getting together or something, like a peaceful ending with no cliffhangers (like Jane actually didn't kill Red John LOL and he's still out there or something)!  

Just more than 24 hours to go for episode 7 finally! Been waiting for this episode for 2 weeks, bring it on! Hopefully everything will start to be thoroughly explained. 

I really want to know what happened to Kristina Frye, how Red John seems to be able to read Jane's mind (e.g his happy memory of Eileen), the 'He is mar' clue, etc etc etc. Hopefully everything is explained so all the loose ends will be tied up with finally the reveal of Red John himself. Hopefully he has that creepy soft voice on when Jane supposedly kills him in the park. 

Oh yeah and the pigeons in the house Brett Patridge was killed was that suppose to kill Lisbon's happy memory? Her office or her must be bugged if so. Just my opinion.  

In the first episode of the season, it appear that RJ was holding the box cutter (or whatever it was) in his left hand.  Smith and McAllister shot right handed, and Bertram appears right handed (holding cell phone).  Hard to tell about Stiles because he waves with his left but at other times appears right handed.  I have seen no clue regarding Haffner whether Haffner is right handed or left. I know it is a bit strange to offer a theory on a lack of eveidence, but  I think Haffner or perhaps Stiles.

So RJ is supposed to be someone who is:

1- Not on good terms with Jane.
2- Shares similar characteristics.

 From the remaining suspects Stiles and Sheriff already are on rather good terms with Jane. so I think they're off the list. Smith is just a though FBI guy and doesn't have anything with common with jane.

So only Bertram and Haffner remain. And if Rosalind's descriptions are anywhere near correct, it can't be Bertram so the only remaining suspect is Haffner. What do you guys think?
