Ray Haffner may not be guilty of being Red John, but he is guilty of being a closeted homosexual.
I believed it was Ray Haffner since season 5. Last weeks episode sealed it for me. In a previous episode, Jane said that Sophie Miller was horrible and taking notes, so she used a tape recorder and a service to transcript. Referring to her claim that Red John was "Acrophobic" ( the fear of heights), was actually a mistake of her hand writing. Her horrible writing re-read it wrong when it should have said "Arachnophobia" ( the fear of spiders). A simple reveal whne Hafner jumps at the spider.
Look at this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3vFaqH7WGwQ/TWRtbW-_88I/AAAAAAAAAbs/EqCq0_k0Y3Y/s1600/33.bmp
Looks sort of like Raymond Haffner from the back. The person that poisoned Rebecca at the CBI building. At the time, Haffner worked in CBI supposedly.
I think it's Haffner because of these things:
- The silhouette on Keira Tinsley's door in the Red Tattoo showed a person with hair. You could even see smallish hair spikes all over the head. That eliminates Bertram immediately.
- Did you see the action? Red John was quick to kill her and get out of there before cops arrived. He was sharp on his feet and deadly with his arms. Got the job done. Anyone really believe Brett Stiles is capable of this? Haffner has been shown to work out. Which leads me to the next point.
- "Something darker inside of him" - Sophie Miller. When she said that, at that very moment in the recording, they showed Haffner working out. That was the darkest trait of Red John that she described and Haffner was the one they showed at the time. Doesn't mean anything but it's a nice little thinker.
- Sophie Miller met Red John in her office or home. There is no way in hell that she could come to the conclusion that he's scared of heights by looking at the guy. Whereas it's quite easily possible that Red John was waiting in a room and showed anxiety when he saw a spider, she didn't know what his phobia was maybe because she couldn't see the spider, just see his fear. I mean offices and homes do have spiders right? Miller's house was not on a hill and the only elevation was like two steps in front of the door way.
- Haffner has connections in the FBI, since he worked there. Remember Red John told Patrick he has a "friend in the FBI". It could be anyone, Alexa Shultz, Reede Smith, anyone in the FBI.
- Haffner has connections in the CBI and it shows. He just used his connections in the CBI to get the autopsy reports in the latest episode before even Lisbon got it.
- Haffner has connections in Visualize. Which puts him in a good bet to have been on Elliston Farm in 1988.
- He fits Red John's age description.
- He has hair.
- His body is slender, not fat and not too skinny. See here, Red John isn't Reede Smith by this body detail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgvXfZK9dnw&hd=1
- Haffner has the Lisbon connection and I'll make a theory about this later.
- He can whistle.
- He's a private detective, meaning he employs himself now. He could have taken this job up to personally gather information on Tyger Tyger and get further away from Jane.
- He walks identically to Red John. (There are clips for this too but they're already posted).
- Ray = Jay = Roy, only slight alterations in name.
- Can you possibly imagine Bertram or Smith trying to seduce people like Lorelei? Haffner can, so can Stiles but Stiles would use "awakening potential" through Visualize as an incentive to do it. Haffner can get people to do it through his functional likable looks and tamer personality.
- Haffner is a genius in surveillance. Red John, ironically knows a lot of details about Jane and his team. Even basic everyday things, simple tiny events of their day. He seems to know about them. Also, remember that episode they introduced Rosalind Harker and Dumar/Sheriff Hardy? Patrick found wire taps and cameras in those twin teenage girls' room, Red John was responsible for killing one of the twins. It's possible he bugged their room.
- Keira Tinsley was a private investigator, similarly to how Haffner is a private detective. She knew about his tattoo, he's so far the only one whose been shown to workout, quite possible she met him when he was out jogging, at the gym, or just a nice sunny day and he had a tank top on, it would be a normal thing in Sunny California, right?
- He's the only suspect that shows subtle hints of jealousy towards Jane.
- When Lisbon asks him if he was on Elliston Farm in 1988, he dodged her question and never answered it. Similar to how Red John never confirmed or denied being one of the 7 suspects. He left it vague, to let the other person figure it out. This is a personality characteristic that is consistent.
- He meets all the physical descriptions. In this video, when you see Red John walking, he looks about Haffner's height and build (definitely not Smith's height or build, or Stiles' height): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns_DWnqrEdI&hd=1
- McAllister, Smith, and Bertram were all in the CBI office "working together to take down a drug cartel (as stated by McAllister's "lots of narcotics in my neck of the woods"), when Jane walked in, they were discussing issuing warrants for arrests. Why would a local sheriff, a CBI director, and an FBI special agent be seen working together? Three difference levels of law enforcement and Smith's already come out as the first affiliate of Tyger Tyger, meaning the other two are in hot pursuit of the same.
- Smith is FBI, he's federal and Bertram is CBI, state. Bertram is technically "below" Smith on hierarchy. Smith has a larger jurisdiction with his agency than Bertram does with his, which explains why Bertram was "taking orders" from Smith.
- Both Smith and Bertram are poised to be in the episode "Red John". Do you guys think Bruno Heller is dumb enough to leave that information public to everyone? That if they were Red John that it would be as easy as looking at who stars in what episode to figure it out? They're both Tyger Tyger. I definitely think that's the episode Jane confirms who Red John is but I'm not sure if Red John has to be in that episode. It could be the big revelation episode. We know Bertram and definitely Smith are Tyger Tyger.
- I think Stiles will be removed as a suspect in the next episode or two. The description of S6E6 says that he questions Stiles about Visualize and Red John, meaning we'll find out his involvement. I'm sure he's next to be removed since he seems to be the prominent suspect of the 5 for the next episode. The director did confirm by the start of the episode Red Dragon (S6E7) that the list will be down to 4 and I get the feel that the explosion in S6E6 is in the end of the episode.
- We know how mobile Haffner can be now. He left the Sacramento CBI office "to get a better look at the hotel" in San Francisco like it was nothing. It's 80 miles, he's a private detective not a cop. Him going back and forth shows his mobility, something Red John has to have as a characteristic to be murdering people all over the California state map.
- Also, watch that video I posted the link to earlier. I think Red John might be multi-dexterous. He was drinking tea with his left hand at Rosalind Harker's house and he shot that guy in the knee and those other two kids with his right hand. I don't know about you people but I'm right handed and doing things that need dominant dexterity with my left hand is very difficult. Haffner, if you paid attention to the show, shows subtle hints of multi-dexterity with his hands. He seems to be very good at using both, although I'm sure one of the hands are more dominant than the other.
There's a lot of other small tidbits about Haffner that I could get into too but for now this will do. I definitely think he's Red John.
Did you all noticie that Haffner was nervous when he saw the spider on the wall? That can make sense that red john is not aforaid of heights (acrophobia) but afraid of bites of insects (acarophobia) what do u all think?
The show was made to entertain us, its not a real case.
I suspected they would build a way to brett stiles, to make us think its him. Hes The only one who's presented as powerful and smart enough. Bruno heller would show haffner as a good suspect first, then lead us to think its all a visualize thing, then its gonna make us be sure about stiles.in The last moment, ray will reveal his real face, and abandon that dumb
The tiger tiger members dont know Rj identity. Not all of Them. No way Rj would trust every low rank, which could say his nome before dying. Partridge could be one of those members, getting close to find out who he is.
Come on, Bertram was chasing Rj with kirkland. Hes not a tiger tiger member. Unless they are chasing Rj.
Would be obvious if any dead come to life, like in The book that bruno compared in The interview.
Would be cheat if The list is not real.
We'll I think it's Ray Haffner because Brett and Bob is dead so we eliminate them from the list and that would leave 5 suspects left so we can cross out Gale, Tom, and Reede because they are all part of the Tyger Tyger group so that leaves Ray and Bret, why would Bret be RJ, I mean I think he knows who RJ is and is likely takes care of him when his dad died and that's why he knew what happened to Christina, and that leaves us with Haffner.
Also whenever the recording of the stuff about RJ was recorded the fear of heights also sounds like the fear of bugs and did you see Haffner's face whenever he saw that spider.
