THE THEORIES

In this post I will explain several key events that have happened in episode 7 The Great Red Dragon (if you have not seen the episode yet stop reading and go watch it). These events will also hint at what I believe will happen in episode 8 Red John.

In the last episode several important facts have occured.
After the bombing of Jane's house 3 of the 5 remaining RJ suspects end up dead. When we learn that the tyger tyger tattoo has been removed from Patridge's arm Lisbon asks "What does it mean?" Jane answers "What do you think it means?" and walks away. The removal of the tyger tyger tattoo obviously means that the Tyger Tyger group is present in the morgue, and this also means that the dna results of the 3 RJ suspects that died in Jane's house are very likely false. Jane obviously realizes at this point that RJ is 1 of the 3 "deceased" suspects. He then begins setting his trap, he announced publicly that RJ is Bertram, fully aware of the fact that this is a lie. I mean Jane has always said that when he finally gets RJ he will kill him, so why would he announce to the public that Bertram is RJ and that he is "armed and dangerous"? Answers because he wants Bertram to get killed, he wants Bertram to die, making everyone believe that RJ is dead. As we know RJ is a showman, he wants people (especially Jane) to appreciate his work, RJ has a phobia of being unrecognized. So RJ needs to confront Jane in the next episode because he HAS to, he knows that it is a stupid thing to do and should walk away but he CAN'T. Hence why Jane sais in the end, "I'm not quitting, I'm letting go". There is nothing more that he can do and he knows it, RJ needs to make the next move. So he goes into the church and waits for the inevitable arrival of his nemesis, RJ.

I don't know who RJ is, but I'm hoping that it is someone that Jane has a connection with. That will intensify the reveal. This is why I WANT (but don't know) to rule out Kirkland. You can throw all of the facts to support Kirkland's role as RJ, and I'll believe all of it, but I'll be completely disappointed because then the villain will just be some random dude in the plot line. Who cares about some random dude in the plot line that has no emotional connection to the main character?

Jane and RJ have this sort of twisted, older-younger brother connection with RJ being the older one, but now Jane is finally catching up with him (maybe Jane has been the older brother the whole time, who knows?) But I don't see Jane/Kirkland with this bond. I don't see Jane/Bertram with this bond. I don't see Jane/Haffner with this bond (although I could be persuaded on this). I'm not even going to bother with Reede...

I CAN, however, see this brother-brother bond in Jane/McAllister, Jane/Partridge, and Jane/Stiles.
Regardless of whether you believe Partridge is dead or not (let's leave the facts/evidence aside for now), don't you think he would be a nice reveal? Sure, it would result in the prototypical lab guy/serial killer, but I think the emotional connection that Partridge has formed with Jane through the years would outweigh the "corny" lab guy aspect of it (just my thoughts, obviously feel free to disagree and tell me why).

McAllister and Jane. Well, if you don't appreciate the chemistry between these two characters, then I suggest you go back and REALLY watch their interaction. It's easy to get caught up in the plot (what happens?) of episodes while you watch, so you shove character development and interpersonal relationships to the side. But once you already know what happens in an episode (just like the actors already know their scripts and roles before the camera is on), you can REALLY see the raw interaction between characters. If you go back and watch the interaction between Jane and McAllister, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Fun Link between Jane and McAllister: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuIXe8Z8QAQ (you can really understand the silly/somewhat deeper bond they have—especially later on in the show where they begin to finish each other's sentences).

Jane and Stiles have that bond as well, but I don't want this post to get too long.

Just reply with a comment on:

Who would you WANT (KEY WORD: WANT) to be RJ, regardless of all of the facts/clues/evidence? Whose reveal, do you think, would HEIGHTEN tensions during the church scene?

Also, click GREEN IF YOU CARE MORE ABOUT RJ'S BOND WITH JANE or RED IF YOU CARE MORE ABOUT RJ BEING A PLAUSIBLE SUSPECT.

Cool, I'm done. Leave me some comments.

THIS REALIZATION GAVE ME THE CHILLS, IT WILL FOR YOU AS WELL

Stick with me for 30 seconds, I promise you will know Red John

Red John is Thomas McAllister:

What name did Bertrum use to check into Red John's storage unit? Thomas.

What was in the unit? Red Wine. McAllister is from Napa, wine capital of America.

Rewatch the episode where patrick rounds up the suspects in his house, and makes them reveal their tattoo.

When they are going to reveal, Bertrum looks directly at McAllister, as if waiting for his approval.
Bertrum, the supposedly highest on the totem pole of the Blake association is the only one taking direct orders from Red John...Smith was obviously left in the dark.

When McAllister revealed his tattoo, there was a creepy, chilling music, and Patrick came to a sudden epiphany like realization..He would have shot him then and there if Stiles hadn't urged him to look at the others...

Take a look at the promo found on CBS Website:

The man breaking through the glass, McAllister, is wearing the same clothes as the man, who perfectly fits McAllister's description walking down the church aisle.

HERES THE KICKER: We know McAllister is religious, when he saved Patricks life, he says "Well hell be a lot closer to Jesus now"... We also know he has a phobia of pigeons, which appear in the promo, on a statue of Mary, and fits sophies description perfectly...

hes wearing a sherrifs outfit, someone like mcallister has resources, free time, and could blend in almost anywhere...

ONE LAST THING:
when the little girl said to patrick "are you giving up yet", it would take someone like a policeman, who can be trusted by small kids, to get a stranger to say that...

I put alot of time into this and dont want it to be buried!!!

IF YOU WANT THIS TO GET TO THE TOP CLICK PLAUSIBLE, IF YOU DONT LIKE IT CLICK UNLIKELY, BUT DONT SCROLL PAST!!

Guys,

The reviewer lady in spoiler tv, who already watched the 6 x08 episode almost explicity said that Red John is Sheriff McAllister. She confirmed that it is one of the 7 suspects on the list and she said "Don't overythink. The promo tells you a lot".  I love reading your theories, but at the end of the day , the sheriff puts the bomb under his hat, kills some of the suspects and appears again after Patrick announced a "fake" Red John deliberately. As simple as that.
