THE THEORIES

McAllister was a fitting choice, at least after Partridge was ruled out. You couldn't have expected RJ to be Bertram, Kirkland or Reede Smith. It had to be someone who was introduced in S1. RJ couldn't have been introduced so late in the series.

The only disappointment was the direction. How did Patrick throw that Pigeon on McAllister? Did he bring it with him? And we are to assume that the FBI agent couldn't find the pigeon when he checked Patrick for weapons? Or that the pigeon was silent throughout the conversation.

Also that scene with the mobile exchange, and kids stealing his car. Too circumstantial.

Also, there should have been more of the RJ Voice. Eg : McAllister entering from behind "Hello Patrick" in RJ Voice while RJ background plays.

And also, I feel that at least a few more questions should have been answered.

In all, a decent episode, but with a great room for improvement.

Lets see how the story unravels now.

There's a million questions, but I wanna know, what did Patrick figure out about Mcallister to narrow him down to the final 7?

Ha Ha Bruno Heller should have been Red John and this is what the dialogue would have with Simon Baker.

PJ : "After all these years,  fan of Mentalist deserve an extraordinary end and you did a terrible mistakes It's not fair! "

RJ : "It's totally fair. The show's over and I won" :)

Easy there people, this is not the end of the show yet, how can you be so sure we are not going to get our long awaited answers on the next few episodes?

Have you seen the next episode's promo? Look it up on youtube or something. Doesn't it seem a bit too happy and calm for you? What good is that for a show to spend a whole episode on Jane living his new life with a random woman we don't even know or care about? Don't be fooled, I doubt that's going to be how this show will play itself out for the rest of the season.

I've seen people complaining that the great Red John can't be defeated by a pigeon, but that's his phobia! We knew RJ had some kind of phobia and Jane somehow figured it out and used it against him. Patrick had figured out how the bomb trick worked so he must have known the real RJ would be either Mcallister, Haffner or Stiles.

If there is one tiny thing Im going to complain about was the promo. They didn't need to straight out show Mcallister in the promo, that pretty much gave it all up.

The whole "He is mar" thing...I'm thinking it could mean "He is marked".  Would make sense with McAlliseter - maybe they will go back to that in later episode.

Red John episode was ok for me - surprised the dude that patted Pat down didn't find a pigeon stuffed in his pocket, but whatevs.

I really don't understand you people. Most of you are saying it was crap...I've read theories without any sense all over the places, people that still believed that Partridge was alive, that Patrick was Red John, that Lisbon was an accomplice, that Michael Kirkland was Red John (and of course, if somebody pops out of nowhere taking the spotlight, that would have been fine)...

All those complaints, you probably didn't realize how good XB was inside the church or how good he has played in the last shows.

And also, you want all the answers...did you understand the spirit of the show during the last years? Or are you looking for an excuse to stop watching?
Personally, I don't care about how RJ got the list and it makes perfect sense that PJ doesn't care either at that point, his goal was to catch him, not to figure out his tricks.

I like the show thanks to PJ, I'll keep watching it.
See you.

On top of the MANY unanswered questions, has anyone noticed that the information on the flash drive was not mentioned again? PLUS the one thing that I have been hung up on for a long time now is WHY.... BEFORE Red John began his game with Jane, did he really just wanna kill and torture women for kicks? The idea that the head of a massively powerful crime syndicate would sacrifice the entire thing, just to get his rocks off torturing women is absurd. I expected an actual motive worth seeing.
