Sebastian Kovar Please tell me if this time (S6EP08-'Red John') it is 100% the real Red John we will find out IN THE END. Or if there still is any doubt about it after completely watching it. And pleeeeaase :) could you describe the moment of the final confrontation just a little for a huuuge PJ-RJ-chemistry fan :)Thank you so much for this article!!

I have no doubts this time. And without any details, the confrontation is absolutely brilliant and the actors work just SO well together!
And you're welcome!

Tr1n1ty86- Thanks for your nice preview! I'm so intrigued now. Just a question, if you may reply it. Is Red John really someone one of 7 suspects?

I think it was confirmed along time ago.

Not asking you about RJ's identity, but could you say if they explain his motivation for the killings he's done? Why he's become a serial killer or what drives him? For me it's probably more important than who he is and I'm afraid the show might not deliver.

Well, there is a great moment in the episode when Jane pretty much describes RJ and in a way, his motivation, by himself. And since he's Jane, well, it fits quite perfectly. I can't really say if there's anything more than that.

DebraFan "Jane is calm, waiting for things to happen"I believe, that by naming Gail Bertram as Red John, Jane has successfully baited Red John into coming out of hiding. Red John doesn't like copycats (remember S2 finale) and murderers who claim that they are better than Red John (remember that old guy killer in S 4/5? who belittled Red John in an interview.) Simply put, he is too egotistical to bear someone else getting credit.

Naming Gail Bertram as Red John definitely sets A LOT of things in motion.
For better or worse.
But I liked Jane approaching things calmly with a kind of...hmm, confidence, I guess.

PL-Do you think we'll all be happy with who turns out to be Red John?

I'm sure there's gonna be someone who won't, but in general, considering how well it's all done, I think most of people will be satisfied with this story.

Does the character who ends up being RJ do a good job of changing his voice to match the old RJ voice we've heard?1

At one point the voice is changed and I can't say for sure (cause of the quality and sound changes in the rough cut), but I think it was pretty similar to what we've heard before.

jayroth  CarlosDash -couldn't agree more. Does the episode explain why the Lisbon/Patridge scene (towards end of S06E01) is so important? And if there's a reason to show so many scenes of pigeons in the first few episodes of the season ?

There's a reference to at least one of these things. That's all I can say.

Whome-Does the episode explain what happened at PJ's house with the explosion?

Oh yes! ;

Linda • 11 hours agoI know that you won't probably answer it :D Will Jisbon fans appreciate this episode as well?

Hmm.. yeah, I think so, some great moments between the two. As long as the fans will remember that it's not the episode focused on them.

Anestis- What i want to ask is a little out of the main issue.Do we know what happened with cristina fraye or whatever's her name?Maybe my question is silly cause i havent watched much episodes but i reeeeally liked her so i need to know :)

I agree, Cristina was a really interesting character and I liked her, but we pretty much know that her story ended back in Season 3.

jayroth  did they show or explain how RJ figure out the list of 7 suspects before Jane himself? This one has been torturing me all summer...
and when did Jane figure out who RJ really is? Is it during the episode? in this season? or way earlier?

The answer to one of these questions is one of my favorite parts, so let's leave it at that! ;) •Reply•Share ›

Why is Partridge a favorite suspect? Isn't he too young based on the first Red John killing on the Visualize farm?

Alright ladies and gentlemen i just saw season 6 episode 8 red john spoiler alert!!!!!!

Red john is michael kirkland yes i was as shocked as you were they do tell the story how patrick and michael shook hands at the carnival patrick and his father conned michaels father and mother which drove them to drinking michael met stiles and he took him into visualize and michael found out it was a cult more than a self help place so he asks stiles why not kill people and make money and do cover ups help each other out stiles of course says no he does not condone killing so michael told stiles i will make my own organization hence the blake association thats how stiles knows red joh aka michael. Michael goes onto tell patrick that if you remember what lorlie said to you i will start killing again and often until you catch me or i catch you, michael said you had your chance and the fbi taking over was the check mate you lost. The last thing he tells patrick is the reason why he did not like con men is because what happened to his parents he did not know jane was that con man until he killed his wife and daughter. Other questions are asked and answered i do not want to spoil that much but enjoy the episode it will leave you at the edge of your seat.

The episode Red Listed, Kirkland says to Smith "Tiger, Tiger." Smith doesn't respond but looks at him clueless. How would Smith know that Kirkland isn't in the BA too if it is so big and not everyone knows all who is in it?

Not a theory, just wanna share my thoughts:

Honestly after last episode and seeing ep. 8 promo I no longer have a clue who may turn out as Red John, and that kinda makes me sad because until now i was convinced it's going to be Partridge and after what had been shown to us in ep. 7 when Cho "examed" Brett's dead body it would just be too obvious for him to be Red John. Of course Brett a.k.a Red John fans (no offence, I'm among you guys:D) might say that we actually never saw his face, but unfortunately I'm now pretty sure he is really dead. Why? Ok let's start.

Bruno Heller did cheat all of us saying that in the end of first episode he left us a big clue. He really did but it is rather a clue that really became one after this episode when Jane was interrogating that police officer.

PJ: There's a password, too, something you say|as a greeting or a... Distress signal. "Tiger, tiger".

That actually turned out to be that clue. As we now found out the Blake Association is big enough that members don't know each other - they work in groups, and don't know how about you guys but imo, the Blake Association isn't proud of Red John being a member (Smith reacts in a way as he is unhappy because of it). Conclusion: Brett Partridge actually wanted to warn Lisbon and tell her to gtfo of that house but he knew if he just say that Red John is going to kill her so he used "tiger tiger" in hope she is a member, too. Unfortunately he didn't know Red John is a member and didn't expect that he would react.

Why do I think that was the clue?

Because after interview with Heller we all started to look for a possible clue. Some of us tried that stupid 666 theory, some of us hit "pigeons theory" but for me all of this turned out to be Red Herrings so we could spend our time thinking what did we miss.

What does it mean in recent events?

Brett Partridge - dead
Bob Kirkland - dead
Reede Smith - in jail (probably if he's going to survive)
Bret Stiles - no tatoo, simply too old to be RJ
Raymond Haffner - Jane doesn't care about him, he speaks free about RJ near him and he insults Ray, i think Jane wouldn't be stupid enough to provoke RJ again as he know how it end up first time.
Gale Bertram - on the run, just a ordinary member of Blake Association.
Thomas McAllister - it might be him (i think it's the guy running on the promo) but it would be a huuuuuge mistake to reveal RJ identity in just a Promo lol, who does that? We've been waiting for this moment few years....

Conclusion

1. Red John is not on the list and all that we witnessed from episode 5x22 is Jane's deception.
That actually would be a perfect solution because each episode is focused at another "suspect" and each week we all change our theories/thoughts about who might be Red John and we miss the most possible option.
If Red John is someone not from the list i think Walter Mashburn woul be just perfect.

2. Kill me but - Brett Partridge, but honestly im not going to point out why because we all know why.

Just a observation

Did you notice that guy moving Jane's couch, he gave him his coins but he had "FBI" at his suit so how on earth FBI guy would know Jane used to spent 90% of his time at that couch.

Red John must had been present in team Lisbon room and we must have seen that.
And that makes Walter Mashburn 1:0 Brett Partridge.

Cheers

...spoiler...
Jane has it all planed. In the promo you can see clearly that the gun is full of tape. Hidden by him under the bench church, probably at the end of the red dragon episode. In the promo, in the church is Bertram, with the ring on his hand and all the baldness. Maybe he shots Bertram to allure Red John(that's why he said that Bertram is Red John, that's why he shots him, not kill maybe, that's why Red John says he had won).
From the voice I do not know if it's McAllister or someone else. I haven't heard this voice during this show. Hope that Red John is someone worthy to be him, if you know what I mean.
