THE THEORIES

Ok, so we know about the satanic and biblical connotations throughout The Mentalist. If you don't here is a brief summary.

As shown when Lisbon responds to the emergency call in 6-01, there are many satanic messages on the walls including  666 and die, along with other satanic drawings. Heller told us there was a big clue in this season, there you have it.

Episode 7 of the series is "The Great Red Dragon", a 7 (yes in episode 7, coincidence?) headed dragon which is a depiction of the devil in the book of revelations. This Dragon was also the subject of 4 paintings by William Blake. Yes, the same "Tyger, Tyger" Blake. The 7 headed-dragon is a reflection of the list of 7. One of the dragon's heads is said to be fatally wounded, "but the fatal wound had healed". This is Brett Partridge. Now I believe Partridge isn't dead due to two things. First is the fact that this wound had been healed. The second is the "Brace of Partridge", another painting by Blake, which depicts two dead Pigeons. However the word "Brace" means two. The word brace could mean a second coming, lending itself to the possibility that Partridge isn't dead.An alternative theory could be Red John was aiming to kill Lisbon and have her as the second pigeon. This theory makes out like Red John is killing off his fear (Pigeons) symbolically, however i cannot understand why his "fears" are Partridge and Lisbon.

Speaking of pigeons, it is now quite widely believed that Red John is Ornithophobic, which is the fear of pigeons. Someone put this together due to the extended shots of pigeons in season 6. Also, McAllister jumped at pigeons in the tower at the end of 6-03 However this is backed up by William Blake's "The Brace of Partridge" depicting dead pigeons. So we also know that he is not afraid of heights, so don't get caught up in that yarn any longer and look out for those pigeons!!

Now, the subject of my real enquiry is the paintings "The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in Sun" and also "The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed with the Sun". If it is believed that Heller and the writing team are sticking with the same analogy, it comes to reason that a heavily featured part of Blake's dragon paintings, the woman clothed in sun, is featured. So we know who the dragon represents, Red John, but who is the woman clothed in sun? Well the obvious answer is Teresa Lisbon, however I believe it is Grace Van Pelt. Van Pelt's red hair is the reason why. The "sun" has been translated by Heller as Grace's long red hair.

Now, we know that Van Pelt and Rigsby leave the CBI this season. I feel that Van Pelt has been RJ's mole in the CBI, hence being "in sun". now as she leaves she is not in the sun any more. This, i believe, is a metaphor for her transition out of the CBI, and to RJ seeing she has outlived her usefulness. But i don't think it will be RJ that kills her, I think it will be Rigsby. RJ will let Rigsby find out that she is/was the mole. This is all speculation of course.

There is another painting by Blake called  "The Red Dragon and The Beast From the Sea". The beast from the sea is the CBI/Patrick Jane's allies in my opinion. But lets see a little more down the road. Sorry if this looks like a ramble put on a computer, that's because it is.

A lot of people have said that Kirkland will torture PJ and I will cut his fingers but look closely at his shirt... Patrick Jane seems to wear a "one color" shirt under his suit unlike the man on the last scene, who wear a checked shirt.
We can also see Kirkland's shirt on the preview, and I see some check on his shirt (but i'm not sure...) : rather than PJ tortured by Kirkland, It could be Kirkland who will be tortured by Red John in this episode.

Here is what Bruno said to CBS 2 Days ago :

Heller muses “Once Moby Dick has been killed, what happens next? You have to tell the story about how Patrick gets back to shore. He’s been out of sea hunting this creature for so long, I think people will want to know what happens to him after that. Does he live happily ever after? What happens when you’ve been searching for something as long as he has? We are going to get into that. It would be cheating the audience not to tell them what happens after. We have a great story for that saga, because it begins a whole new saga. Where does he go from there? How does he live with what he’s done? Can he find happiness? All of those are big questions we are going to explore.”

I ask you guys a question.....what does Bruno mean when he says "How does Jane live with what he's done?"

Does this mean that PJ is actually Red John? asking a question......please comment

In S06E04 Promo we listen the message "A Trap has been set" then we see kirkland with jane... First time Jane went in a dangerous situation RJ came to save him, maybe they (Jane and Bob) are working together to remake this.

Red John doesn't wanna a PJ dead.

Bonus: I can't believe the show will finish with RJ history and focus another line for only 4 episodes, I guess the RJ case and the CBI are related.

Sherriff is sure a crafty old man. He is in my top 3 now, Heller kepping it simple by going with the guy from S1e2. I think that Kirkland is on a revenge mission vs RJ. Characters that will die:
Rigsby
Hightower
Kirkland
Van Pelt(dead or prison??)
JJ LaRoche

The series is going to heat up rapidly mark my words, RJ is going to strike hard and fast, Heller is going out with a bang. What a show! We are in the same position we were in S3 finale: Not any clue who the real RJ is! BTW was wainwright an informant??

Hello You all!

First of all I wanna thank those guy who did this page! :-)

But I have a question!

Why still everybody tries to find out who could be RJ from the list of 7!?

After Patrick gets the message of RJ (that he knows the list) it seems really clear to me that - of course - nobody of the list of 7 is RJ! RJ plays with patrick like with a puppet and so he knew those 7 names.
But i really dont think RJ is one of them!

Best!

Rick

i want to my thoughts with you guys.
First, I think the Carmen lee was some of message from red john or could have been nothing. Carmen is the colour RED and reminded jane of Sophie somehow.

Secondly, red john has been using kirkland info on jane. He has been under surveillance for 9 yrs. Rj told jane to roll tide in season 2 finale. This is what kristina frye told the waiter. So rj overheard their conversation. I think kirkland have met Rj and has trusted him with his investigation but he does know it. And Rj has been using kirkland to stay one step ahead of Jane. We still dont know Rj friend in the FBI. Alexa Schultz knows about kirkland investigation she was the one to call Minelli. Maybe she is Rj contact.
