Just a question...
Did anybody else notice the scene when Lisbon is in the hospital and the nurse comes in and asks for the patient's name, " carmen lee" ?
That couldn't have just been an accident right?

The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller has been quoted saying he is a big fan of anagrams and other such word puzzles.
Red John is an anagram for Hjorden
Hjorden or Hjord in Swedish/Danish: herd; a number of beasts gathered.
This could be evidence that Red John is indeed an alias that a number of people are using (possibly explaining the suspicious meeting between Bertram, McAlliser, and Reed).
The biggest "clue" about Red John (apart from the basic physical parameters we already know: Caucasian, male, mid 30s early 40s, and around 6' tall) is the poem "The Tiger" by William Blake. One of the themes expressed in this poem is Blake's "bewilderment that the God who created the gentle lamb also created the terrifying tiger, he includes Satan as a possible creator" (Michael J. Cummings 2003. Study Guides. Web.). In S6E1, as Lisbon is walking through the house we see the word "DIE" along with a pentagram and "666" (the number of the beast) scrawled on the walls in what appears to be blood.
This could reveal that Red John is truly an embodiment of the evil of men, with each of it's primary members representing a different aspect of evil (7 suspects, 7 deadly sins?).
Another clue...episode 8 of season 6, in which we're supposed to learn of the identity of RJ, is entitled "The Great Red Dragon". This is the name for a series of paintings done by Blake. The subject matter of these paintings is Satan from the book of revelations. In these paintings he is depicted with 7 heads and 7 crowns (7 suspects guys!!).
Now, lets look at the 7 Red John suspects and how they relate to William Blake and his poetry (as this poem/Blake has been a motif throughout the series). I realize some of these may be a stretch, so any comments/help on more concrete relationships to Blake would be awesome!
1. Brett Partridge: A Brace of Partidge is a painting by Blake
2. Bret Stiles: William Rosseti Blake....The name Bret Stiles comes from rearranging some of the letters
3. Gale Bertram: He quotes the Blake poem "Cradle Song", a poem about losing innocence
4. Reede Smith: Reeds of Innocence (poem by Blake)
5. Thomas McAllister: Blake had a friendship with Thomas Paine
6. Ray Haffner: No idea....
7. Bob/Robert Kirkland: No idea....
As you can see there are still areas of this theory that need fleshing out.
One more piece of evidence..."He is mar" could mean "He is many".
The things we know (or think we know) about Red John really don't help us figure out who he is! Sure, we have lots of details, but they just lead to grand theories of speculation. No wonder RJ hasn't been identified by law enforcement, let alone caught. Bruno Heller has given us reasons to suspect all 7 final suspects (and even reasons to suspect people who aren't on the list). I think Patrick knows 100x more about RJ than the most die hard Mentalist fans. If the Mentalist were a book, I'm sure we would get insights into his thinking that are hard to convey on tv.
Last point, do we know for sure it was RJ in the season 2 finale? It could have been one of his followers. Just like the season 3 finale, you think timothy carter is RJ, but he can't prove he is RJ! I'm sure RJ has bragged about his murders and he told Timothy Carter how to make PJ think he really was RJ. So i guess it leads me to this question: When Red John is revealed, how do we KNOW it is him? Cuz i'm assuming they can't just go but what he says, dna, descriptions from others, etc. However, I trust that PJ will figure out a way to prove he is RJ, so he doesn't get tricked again.
I believe that Red John is not just one person but a group of people who call themselves RJ, this case may be one or more suspects on the list, that's because according to the features mentioned at the end of the second episode of the first season, each suspect has a personality trait mentioned, indicating that RJ might not be the same in all crimes, which also explains the fact that some crimes have similar imitations of Red John.
Red John kill everyone that can identify him like Sophie,Rebecca and more.right?
so why Bret Stiles isn't dead already?he know Red John and all his little plan since season 2-3 but he is alive.I don't accuse him for being Red John but i'm sure he have very solid connection with RJ.
Everyone gonna say,oh he is Visualize boss that's why! I agree but think about it,maybe father-son relationship or any kind of family relationship.Jane and Bret Stiles episode is something I really can't wait to see in incomming episode!
I never posted anything before but if we can trust Bruno Heller then RJ is definetly one of these 6 characters.I think RJ is Bob Kirkland and the other members of the list are mostly his disciples. If you take a closer look to each of these characters they have major character flaws.
Ray probably is the one who killed those farmers with Bob.Bob stays there to clean the murder sight.
Bret Stiles is the leader of the cult so he probably supported RJ to use him for his purposes, all visualize says is "be the best you can be" so Bob Kirkland was probably was inspired by Bret ofcourse whether Bret knows this or not is a different story.Brett Partridge is the cleaning vrew for the killings he also is a disciple of RJ.After RJ related or RJ disciple related murders he goes first he changes data and he erases the evidince.
Gale Bertram if I remember clearly once says "once you find th right lever you can do anything" and he had some trials about bribery or something like that he might not be a RJ accomplice but he looks like a greeedy man and he certainly is corrupt.
Thomas McAllister might be the one who raped Lorellia's sister. He certainly was interested with Van Pelt and he might be the one giving Frankie O'Keefe the freedom they needed. His attitude was quite pervertish in "Red Hair and Silver Tape" episode.
Reede Smith looks like a man who enjoys brutalizing people for example the guy he beat up in last episode(Black winged redbird) he was seen when they listened what Sophie miller said.
Bob Kirkland however is a man with very deep connections, he has visualize, FBI, CBI, and his disciples. How Bob found these disciples isn't that much of a mystery to me.The ones from visualize were probably sent by Bret Stiles, FBI and CBI connections were probably happened over time when Bob found something about their past or when Bob helped them cover something up.But these connections run deep. These disciples are not necessaryly active on his murders but they clealrly help him to cover it up.They gave him information about investigations, they manipulate proofs in RJs favor. If you remember it also they give RJ some good information about Jane and his friends for example "roll tide" or how Jane started to like Christina Frye etc. They twist Janes mind for example Gale Bertram was the first one to mention William Blake and he spesificly wanted to meet Hightower he was so furious about that stunt. Also when Timothy died Bertram did everything he could to push Jane and his co. out of the picture but when Jane outsmarted him RJ(bob) got interested and wanted to play the game a little longer then he planned.
I think Bob and Jane fist shook hands before a sort time of Jnaes family died.Jane has no good memory about that time span.Bob likes Jane and not just likes Jane makes him feel important because as Jane said he is a showman he wants to get attention and Jane is the one person who always (even before he murdered Janes family) payed him attention. So Bob(RJ) loves really loves Jane he sends his lover to him to feel some connection (maybe he even desires Jane sexually but a homofobic nature so he sends Lorellia). He also wants to be like Jane he tries to imitade him.He doesn't wanna get caught but rahter he wants Jane to join him that way the show never ends.Janes deep bonds with his family and friends makes him angry but also he doesn't want to upset Jane more(I mean he is trying to convert him and killing his friends won't be a good sign of good will).RJ watchs every step Jane makes. For example the limo scene where he makes someone inform CBI about his mental situation. He in a twisted way wants to also punish people that really pisses Jane off.
