Red John is a fan of women with red hair, a fact made very clear from the beginning . Van pelt has red hair and all the 7 (6?) suspects have had contact with her. For continuity and realism it would be safe to say that Red John would pay her at least a little bit of attention. 
Sheriff McAlister is the only suspect on that list i remember paying her some attention. 
Also did anyone notice that the sheriff insisted that PJ call him by his first name? something red john likes to do i.e always calls PJ by his first name. 

Im not convinced he is red john though as evidence seems to be been pushed down our throats in the last 2 episodes.

It needs to be pointed out that these collaborative Red John theories simply don't work. Yes, he clearly has disciples, but that does not mean that RJ is actually a group of people working together. If that were the case, Jane's whole list falls instantly to pieces. Why? Because he has narrowed down who RJ is based upon what SINGLE person could have been at all the locations at one time. If RJ was in fact 2+ people on the list then Jane's reasoning instantly falls apart - if one does one crime, then another does the next, then Jane's approach of working out who could have been at each crime scene fails.

In other words, if you want to argue that RJ is a composite of various people, Jane's list becomes entirely redundant. RJ needn't be only people on the list, and probably wouldn't be on the list at all.


Soooo... Either RJ is ONE person on the list (but possibly with disciples who are on the list but who did not commit any of his 'official' murders for him), or else we disregard the list entirely if we want to hold onto a composite RJ theory.

Personally, I think it is clear that RJ is one of the people on the list. So let's get cracking on working out which one!

I truly believe that red john could be  anes father and that all the remaining suspects may work for him. But Bruno Heller Said Himself that this season there would be more corruption in the crime force so that would explain those suspects talking to each other after jane left
