I accuse Judge Manchester.
1: manipulate minds (poker player)
2: his name starts with "MAN"
3: he is powerful and have access to FBI and CBI
4: transfers Red John case to CBI

The Desert Rose is the first episode and the season premiere of the sixth season of The Mentalist.
Season 6 of the procedural drama airs on September 29th, 2013.
The title of the premiere is called 'The Desert Rose'.
According to various news articles, the premiere episode will
focus on Gale Bertram and Bob Kirkland, as Jane quietly learns
information that may incriminate or exonerate Bertram as being the
elusive serial killer, Red John. Lisbon will be noticeably awkward
around her suspected boss, causing Cho to notice and come up with is own
conclusions about the situation. Jane will doubt his list at first,
since Red John revealed the exact same list.
It is planned to be a serialized season, with more 'to be
continued' after the credits, and less 'murder of the week' cases as we
draw closer to nabbing the elusive Red John.
What do you guys think of?
Guys, guys, guys...
It can't be so simple... It shouldn't be! I mean after all these seasons and careful hintings, the show writers can't just come up with a single guy being behind all this operation. I'm still thinking that the creators will have to satisfy the needs of the bigger crowd who expect to have one of the obvious characters to be RJ BUT also, they will have to make a hit. And that hit must come from an angle which most did not consider. Otherwise, there's no point in doing such a mental cobweb full of mind games and complicated connections.
So my money is on a team of 2 forming Red John concept. First they will give us the obvious one (one of the 7) and satisfy (!) the needs of the most, and then as we start suspecting it's not over yet, they will give us the real deal (the unexpected hit). After this point, there is NO OTHER WAY OF MAKING THIS SHOW a legend in its range. And yes, Red John is connected with Patrick way before his family's murder. Either directly or indirectly. And yes, his father will play a great role at the end (probably will turn up being a foster and the true RJ himself) because there's no other explanation on why he is not even mentioned except for that small flashback. When Jane had to confront with the carnival people for some certain investigations, they didn't even ask or tell anything about his father. Can you imagine that? The only person who can be linked to you is your father (based on your relationship with those people) and you do your chattering about weather and old stuff but nobody even asks "are you hearing from your dad?" or anything like that.
Wake up people!!!
GABE MANCINI;
Any new Red John theories have to address the Suspect List and Lorelei's curious computer epistle.
Most of the Red John theories are confused because they spend too much time ruminating over clues which lead to Red John red herrings.
Bruno Heller has emphasised that the list is credible and that each Red John suspect on the list is a legitimate suspect. Bruno Heller has not confirmed that Red John is actually on the list.
If Red John is not on the list, why does he fear the list?
It can only be that Red John is a close associate of someone on the list whose investigation will lead towards his unveiling.
Lets look at the suspects on the list. Each suspect except one is a credible Red John suspect. Each character on Jane's list has been either a Red John red herring or his behavior has been suspicious like Sherriff MaCallister's attempt to intercept Van Pelt, except one Reede Smith.
Reede Smith is the odd one out on Jane's list therefore his presence is crucial.
Reede Smith is definitely not Red John
Therefore Red John must be a close associate of his; Gabe Mancini.
If Gabe Mancini is Red John, it would explain a curious detail in Lorelei's statement " I will kill often until you catch me or I catch you ". I believe that this could be a reference to Mancini's pursuit of Jane through the Statehouse(Red Beads).
CBI RON...this guy is ALWAYS there! I don`t know what to think - I don`t want him to be Red John, but he`s eligible for the position. He`s too quiet, kind and seems like he`s always willing to help. His presence freaks me out, he`s like a ghost: he`s at the CBI office, but sometimes, at the crime scenes, too. If he IS NOT RJ (and I hope is not), he definitely, definitely works for Red John! He seems so much like Rebecca, Bosco`s assistent and killer, so, my guess, he is also a psycho!
P.S. Given the fact that now the main subject on this site is Rebecca`s mysterious poisoning, I say this: IF the person who poisoned her is, in fact, Red John, the 7 suspects list reduces to Partridge (if we assume he cut his hair), Kirkland (if he painted his hair), and Haffner (if he painted his hair, too).
But my guess, it wasn`t RJ the person who murdered Rebecca, because she wasn`t alone when going to jail, so at least one of the guard would have recognized Partridge, Kirkland, or Haffner, who weirdly wore a police uniform. I think it was one of his disciples, so the question remains: Why is Rebecca looking at him like she`s in love with him, like he is Red John?
1. She never actually met Red John.
2. Red John is someone that`s not on the 7 suspects list.
3. Red John is someone working as a policeman, since none of the guards was surprised by his appareance.
4. Red John payed or manipulated all those guards to ignore him when poisoning Rebecca.
5.Red John is someone that Jane never met until episode 8, season 2. If he was able take a walk through the CBI departments without any fear, this means that he and Jane never had a contact until that moment. Of course, if this is so, we can exclude Partridge, Sheriff McAlister, and Bret Siles from the list of suspects.
Share your theories and thoughts, please!
Like most people I'm thinking that the list we saw isn't the real list at all, I know Heller said that Patrick's list is legit but he didn't say that that list was Patrick's list did he?
I'm thinking that that room and everything about it was a decoy, I reckon that Red John has had hidden cameras in that room for a very long time and Patrick subtly noticed them and started misdirecting Red John with his 'investigation'.
Almost every season 5 episode we're reminded that Patrick has a perfect memory so why would he need to write the names down at all if not for someone else's benefit?
As for who I think it is, my strongest suspicion is Patrick's father (I'm not sure why Patrick made his list based on people he met after his wife and daughter's deaths), but I don't think it is too farfetched to think that maybe he had plastic surgery and is now masquerading as someone Patrick knows, probably Kirkland considering his deep knowledge of Patrick.
