You are guessing but i think Red John does not exist yet. Watching the story, i assume that easily can be created a person who fit to the story. Remember, it is a serie, the most important thing to keep the eyes on the screen. I can't get off my mind the story of Lost.

I made a post earlier, but have given more insight and reasoning into my theory's.

Red John is not on the current list of seven. Why? Remember when PJ sticks the toothpick in the wall and Kirklands minions come in and take photos of everything in the room. When PJ comes back he notices that the toothpick fell and even smiles a bit. The list of seven is a decoy to lead RJ astray. Now we know that Kirkland is connected to or works with RJ in some way. Kirkland sends his boys in to find the information, his boys come back and say that they will view the photos and de code the information that they got. Kirkland says no, and that HE will only view the photos. Kirkland then relays that information to RJ. PJ knew that someone would break into the room, so he put up fake information.

Now, obviously PJ and Lisbon love each other and I don't think PJ would ever tell Lisbon who his real suspects are because he would never want to endanger the person he loves. Also, another reason why PJ would never tell lisbon his real suspect or list of true suspects is very simple. PJ wants to kill RJ and make him suffer while lisbon on the other hand wants RJ tried in court, PJ responds by saying "not if I'm still breathing". So PJ would never risk telling Lisbon who he thinks RJ really is because she might get in the way of his vengeance.

In this years season finale Jane receives a CD from a RJ co worker who obviously knows tons about RJ and says that "I have been with RJ for a very long time". The woman rides in the back seat of a cop car with only 1 policeman who obviously can't keep an eye on her because he is driving, so she kills herself (to supposedly keep RJ's identity safe). Why would Jane let a person who has bountiful amount of information on RJ and had been with him for a long time just be able to kill herself? Because he doesn't need anything from her... Because he already knows who RJ is. I don't know who it is but I'm 99% sure RJ is not on the current list of seven. I believe the video with lorelei was MADE by PJ to confuse and protect lisbon. PJ hyponotised the women that worked with RJ and made her kill herself because PJ somehow found out she worked with RJ in the past so he hates her and made her kill herself

Now, to address those of you who say HELLER CONFIRMED RJ IS ON THE LIST, yes heller did confirm RJ is on the list, but he DID NOT confirm that he is on the list of 7. For all we know he could be on the "list" in PJ's head. So my theory is that the true RJ or list of true RJ suspects is kept hidden in the most secure place PJ knows, his head.

It is now PJs turn to play with RJ.

i think the RJ is Patrick's father. Who else can know his memories?

I believe Red John to be Sheriff Thomas McAllister. 

I rewatched season 1 this weekend, and in Episode 2, Sheriff McAllister "loses" 6 times in a row to Patrick at rock, paper, scissors. I believe it wasn't Patrick that was playing the Sheriff, but rather the Sheriff was losing on purpose to Patrick and deceiving him all the while by making him believe that he bought into PJ's psychic charms. This is obviously a recurring motif of the RJ vs PJ contest, as Red John always seems one step ahead and in Patrick's head as was revealed in the latest episode. This maybe an over-analysis of a singular incident, but the Sheriff was looking Patrick directly in the eye during rock, paper, scissors, and if you've ever played the game, you always watch your hand or your opponent's hand, which gives rise to the possibility that RJ was actually playing Patrick's game all along.

Furthermore, at the end of Episode 2, Sheriff grabs Van Pelt and there is a brief moment of shock as Patrick and Lisbon are watching the surveillance inside of a motel room, where they then proceed to dismiss his involvement in the crime for no reason whatsoever. The Sheriff forcefully grabs Van Pelt and if Rigsby hadn't arrived in time, the Sheriff would have forced Grace to his car. For some reason this all disappears as soon as the Chef and his wife are caught at the end of the episode. 

He was only in one episode if I'm not mistaken, so I believe it would be a clever way to end the series with the Sheriff being RJ as he is one of the most overlooked characters in the show, evidenced by the fact that I must post this theory under the accusation of "Someone Else" :P

Is the blind woman that dated red john dead? If she's not, she needs to be killed in the next season. All the CBI needs to do is present the blind lady with audio recordings of each of the seven remaining suspects voices and she should be able to identify red john.

also, red john cannot be jane. red john supposedly shook hands with jane. also, the blind lady talked extensively with jane.

finally, very disappointed with season finale. how could jane let the woman who kidnapped the baby commit suicide. no questioning? come on! she knows who red john is?!?!

As last night's episode revealed, Red John has a way into Jane's mind. 

I believe that Jane was hypnotized as a child. I had a theory that he was potentially hypnotized by Loraline but Jane would have been too ontop of things to let that happen.

When Jane was a child, I believe he was hypnotized by Red John, who infused these memories into his brain. And as we all know, you do not remember being hypnotized.

This theory leads me to rule out Brett Partridge, one of the highest suspected; let me explain why.

After a bit of research I came up with Jane's approximate age of 42 years.

This means that if Jane was hypnotized as a child, only a few suspects are old enough to have done this to him. Brett Partridge is too young.

The suspects I have in mind are Bret Stiles, Gale Bertrum, Bob Kirkland(doubted) and Sheriff McAllister ( I believe Sheriff McAllister is the most plausible suspect ) due to clues involving smell stated in other theories. I also think Bret Stiles is very plausible as the two families were at "psychic war" and Bret might have done this to show/trick Jane that psychics are a real phenomenon.

I believe that Red John is the mother from "How I Met Your Mother"...

No really, if Bruno Heller hadn't said that Red John is one of the 7 names on that list, I would have thought that RJ would be revealed as Patrick Jane's brother (maybe twin brother) if he has one. That would be very interesting.
