THE THEORIES

I give up . . . if it's not going to be Mashburn than I've lost interest.  None of those other suspects are even remotely interesting to theorize about.  Heller said that RJ was definitely one of the people on the list and he filled up the list with flat, uninteresting suspects.  Stiles and Bertram are too old, Smith and McAllister would look stupid as RJ, Haffner is just irritating, Kirkland entered too late to be satisfying which leaves Partridge who seems like too small of a creep to be RJ.

RJ has money, resources, the ability to make many friends especially women, Jane level intelligence, etc.

Everything fit if RJ was Mashburn.  Two full episodes of interesting dialogue of fooling Jane and Lisbon, a music score with RJ's drum tics in the background, a sad past, and so much more.  None of the other characters have sparred verbally with Jane like that except Stiles so I'm done.  No more theorizing because I simply don't care which one of them is RJ anymore.  I thought it'd be hard to wait for the sixth season but not anymore.  This has been the most disappointing final - it played more like an ordinary episode without any of the suspenseful tension that filled the other four finals.

Why couldn't the list be full of more three dimensional characters like Dean Harken, Max Winter, etc?  How could it possibly be interesting to watch Jane investigate flat government suits like Bertram, Kirkland, McAllister, Smith, or Haffner?  How the hell did I get stuck slightly hoping it would be Stiles because Jane's had suspenseful interactions with him or Partridge because it would make the Season 2 final complete because Jane scares Partridge and then RJ does the same to Jane?  Kirkland is only slightly creepy, Haffner is blind to reading people, and Bertram has no personality even if he's been suspicious by quoting Blake, calling Jane the boy wonder, and his part in the S3 final.

I'm thoroughly upset with Heller.  Mashburn was so perfect - (even now my mind's trying to come up with a logical explaination for RJ being Mashburn despite Heller's comment that RJ is one of the seven suspects . . LOL)

I admit defeat and I'll try to crush the vague hope that a poor response to the names revealed with cause Heller to write in a loophole that results in it being Mashburn . .

I still don't understand how Red John got the knowledge of Patrick's exact same 7 suspects, and even weirder, how did he know it before Patrick? This tape with Lorelei when she is speaking for Red John was shortly before she was killed, the bandage from the gunshot wound on her left arm proves it. Which means the tape was recorded just after Lorelei told Jane she was going after Red John to kill him, and this was in episode 16. Jane narrowed down the list in the season finale, 6 episodes later. It's like Red John knows exactly what Jane is thinking because I don't really see any connections here. I also don't understand HOW Patrick really narrowed down the list to these 7 individuals, what did he use? The Elliston farm? Members from Visualize, how? Visualize absolutely refused CBI to look at any membership from 1988 or any year before or after. I'm going crazy... I don't see any connections to this at all.

What if it's all seven of them? Like why if isn't one man, but a collection of men assuming one identity. Probably not true, but fun to think about all the same.

I have a couple theories what if those 7 people were really Red John but then there was a head Red John  where those 7 people were getting their instructions from? and what if theose 7 people didn' t know who Red John was just a voice they they heard. Possibly it is Jane.  My other theory thinks that red john is still  Patrick Jane think of Leonardo's character in  Shutter Island Jane is trying to catch himself or like  the psychiatrist in The Ninth Configuration. Or who knows it could be Patrick' dad

I believe that we've known who Red John is for quite some time now. I think that Jane has a very strong theory that he doesn't want to believe...I say this because whoever Red John is could very well be someone from Jane's past, Perhaps his Father? Jane's Father encouraged Jane do trick people while they were apart of the Circus, although Jane did not feel comfortable doing so with the tricks of physic powers. But, Jane ends up doing that very thing for a living, fooling and tricking people for a financial gain, I believe that Jane's Father was upset about this and saw Jane as a Hypocrite. Jane's Father has sought out to teach his son a lesson. At first I thought Jane was Red John, how Epic would that be, huh? Jane himself sets up all these Murders and has accomplishes that only very few know who he really is. Perhaps Jane is a psychopath and will ultimately lead the CBI team directly to him and have them not believing what they see or what all the evidence is pointing to. BUT, that is just a wild theory that I had in the very beginning, LOL! I really think it's Jane's Father and the Finale of Season 5 taking Jane back to his past really makes me think its Jane's Father, who else would know about Jane's childhood secret and use it to hurt him?
