I think Robert Kirkland is definitely not Red John because if he is Red John will he kill Jason himself? He will send someone to kill Jason for him right..? I mean look at Rebecca..

I don't think Kirkland is Red John for 2 reasons. However, I'm pretty sure he works for RJ.

When Jason woke up, he asked if he could recognise him. The answer that came from Jason was a negative one, indicating that Kirkland is a friend of Red John and so was Lennon. Come on people,let's be serious. If Lennon knew who RJ is, how come he didn't regonize the man in front of him(if you say that Kirkland is RJ)? I think that RK works for Red john and maybe once he had to do a mission that involved Jason or maybe they met each other at one of the "red john meetings" or somewhere where all the RJ marionettes meet.  

And my second reason is the phrase Kirkland said just before killing Lennon "if I ever get in your shoes, I hope a friend will do this for me." Meaning that, if he ever fails on doing something for RJ and nearly gets caught, someone will kill him painlessly before RJ does in his not very gentle way. Because we all know that if Jane was there instead for Kirkland, he would have gotten the answer from Lennon. I know he said something about prison, but I, personally think it was just an excuse or something to say, so he doens't reveal too much.


So, Kirkland is NOT RED JOHN. But I bet all my life belongigs that he works for him. 

For a moment there, when Kirkland was talking to Jason, I really thought he was RJ. It made me think that none of the accomplices really know what RJ looks like or who he is.  I mean even his lover Rosalind couldn't see him because she is blind.

Then I started thinking, what if one of Kirkland's loved ones was a victim of RJ.  Or maybe even an accomplice that was killed by RJ.

I admitt that he does look good for being connected to RJ but that would be too obvious.

I think Jane will suspect him and get close to him and then RJ will kill him and as he is dying Jane will be leaning over him telling him to hold on but by the time help comes it will be too late and Kirkland will die. 

Kirkland's sister or someone could have been one of the women who were raped and murdered by RJ via Jason and Jason could have met him because of this.

Also RJ had to have been at the women's shelter because he told Jason who to bring him.

PATRICK JANE IS DEFINITELY NOT RED JOHN. If Patrick is Red John why didn't Lorelei just kill him when she found out that Red John killed her sister?

RK: You are one tough SOB Jason Lennon. You really are.
JL: Where am I? What happened?
RK: You are in Sacramento, you got shot. Do you remember that?
JL: Yes I do. Lorelei Martins.
RK: Correct, very good. Good, your mind is clear. Now listen, I have a question for you Jason, look at me. Look close. You recognise me? You ever seen me before? 
JL: No.
RK: Are you sure? It's important.
JL: Yes. I'm sure.
RK: It's good to know. Thanks.
JL: Who are you?
RK: I'm a friend. Let's face facts Jason. If you recover, and live, you'll spend life in prison for murder at the play thing of monsters. I just hope, that if I am ever in your shoes, I have a friend close enough to do this for me.
JL: Wait.
RK: Don't be scared, this'll be quick, with very little pain. It's okay, it's  allright. I am here for you, I won't leave you.


I would like to analyse this.

1) When Kirkland says that he is a tough son of a bitch, it is very informal and as if he knew him before. You just dont say people that they are a tough sob when they are shot. You gotto have a history. Maybe you already know that he is tough, or just figure of speech.

2) Look at me, look close. Are you sure? It is important. And then, after taking a breath, which is like a relief, he says it is good to know, thanks. 

Now, Jason thinks he hasn't met Kirkland before. But obviously, they have met. But why is it important? He is going to kill the guy no matter what, so whether Jason knows Kirkland or not is not not related to any crime. It is personal.  It is more of a confirmation for Kirkland that Jason can't recognise him, even though they know each other.

3) I am a friend. Not I am a friend of Red John. A direct I am a friend.  So, Kirkland was a friend of Jason.

4) I just hope, that if I am ever in your shoes, I have a friend close enough to do this for me. He considers himself as close to Jason, he is a close friend of Jason.

I believe, that Kirkland himself is Red John. I have always considered him as a friend of Red John. But after this, I think it is him.

My Theory: RJ had a surgical operation to change his face. Why else would he ask Jason to look closer at his face and tell whether he recognises. He is gonna kill Jason, why else would it matter whether he recognises him or not. If his close friend Jason from years ago can't recognise him, surely this means the operation is a big success. Nothing to worry. And since he doesn't want his friend to spend his life in prison, he does Jason a favor and kills him in a painless way.

The question is, why did Kirkland change his face? I think he had an important role before this, possibly he was PJ's friend or relative, and only this way it would shock us and everyone. In fact, in flashbacks, we might have seen previous face of RJ.

I present this theory as my major theory. If this comes true, I will post this link and tell "I told you". Of course, in the future, I may be proven wrong but from this 2 minute chat, this is what I get.

Most people are saying that Kirkland either IS Red John, or associated with him, but what if it is something completely different?  

I'm just trying to play devil's advocate, but what if Kirkland is really a good guy and is trying to find Red John?  Maybe Kirkland knows who Red John is(or is close), and was afraid that Jason knew that Kirkland had found out, so he asked Jason if he knew who he was to make sure that he hadn't told Red John that Kirkland knew who he was.  (reading that back, it might be hard for you to follow what I'm trying to say...)
I'll try to explain that a little better:
Kirkland is hot on Red John's trail.  Maybe Kirkland snuck into a meeting where RJ and Jason both were, dressed in a disguise...He found out, or is very close to finding out who RJ is...He wants to make sure that he truly went un-noticed, so that Red John doesn't think that he knows who he is, cuz if RJ knew that Kirkland had found out, he would be dead.  

Hopefully you guys understand what I was trying to say there, i realize it is probably hard to read the way I wrote it out, but it makes sense in my head.

I just keep getting the feeling that Kirkland is a good guy.  It seems to me that they are building him up to be one of RJ's accomplices, only to surprise us by revealing that he is actually going to help Jane and the CBI catch Red John in the end.  The only glitch in that theory is that he killed Jason...that makes it kind of hard for him to be a good guy, even tho Jason was bad. (but maybe necessary so that RJ doesn't find out)

We are so close I know it !!! 

I think what will happen is that Kirkland will turn on Bertram in the finale and try to kill him but will be caught and that will be there new lead as every one knows none of RJ'S acomplices have lived they are all killed i bet that the new charictor Sean Barlow will kill Kirkland and then he will elave and wont appear ageain untill the very very end maybey as Red Johns brother or relative. How will they find RJ i think that Betram will spill to Lisbon who RJ is in the season 6 finale what do you guys think?
