I think Red John is Ellis Mars...

In episode 1X11 the man Red John kills wrote on the wall "he is ma.."
In episode 3X09 appears ellis mars. If we translate into Spanish the first two letters "El" means "he" : El l is Mars

I'm the fan that has just posted about Charlotte. Now some people believe that Robert Kirkland isn't Red John but here's what I think.

Reason 1 : Patrick clearly states on there first meeting "Do I know you?" as if he should know him.

Reason 2: What if that wasn't there first meeting? What if they have shook hands before, but somehow Patrick has forgotten, maybe when he had the breakdown.

Reason 3: When it flashed back and Robert Kirkland was in that limo with the woman who was talking to Minelli it is clearly a black limo just like the one Wainright was killed in.

Reason 4: Robert clearly knows about Jane's time in the hospital, as Alexa Shultz informed Minelli on the phone.     

I know some people may find this far fetched - But how many children as Red John killed?

All we know is Charlotte...right? 

But what if Charlotte is still alive?

Reason 1: When he used that girl and drew the Red Smiley Face on her hand, that's all he did, he didn't hurt her.

Reason 2: When Jane drank that tea he saw Charlotte and only Charlotte at the age she would be, why not his wife too? Maybe because his wife is dead.

Reason 3: What if that night they were "killed" and he opened the door Red John was there and brained washed Patrick into believing they were both dead - I mean he did brain wash Kristina Frye into believing she was dead.

Reason 4: Maybe when he had that breakdown in the hospital - Charlotte was there too. But his mind believed she was dead.
I mean when he drank the tea he had a vision and he was in a straight jacket and lying on a bed and Charlotte was standing over him.

Was she trying to get him to remember?

Reason 5: Look at the grave stones you'll see there name and only names. Why no date of birth or death?        

Dean Harken maybe.

The name Harkin means dark red.

I'm not sure who RJ is but I wish people would stop accusing every middle aged man who is seen in the distant background.

Nothing is for sure but these people are most likely not RJ.

Robert Kirkland: Are people really that naive that the believe that RJ's identity would be made that obvious.

Ray Haffner: Again, it is way too obvious. I dont doubt that he has something to do with RJ though.

Brenda Shettrick: Fist off, RJ is probably a man. Secondly, she did not seem comforable in helping Volker locate that little boy.

Bret Stiles: He is too old. I think he knows something but not what evrybody is assuming. Remember that episode where that guy at Visualize killed that girl. Stiles slapped him for it.

Craig O'Laughlin: He's DEAD.

Dr. Steiner: Also Dead.

Grace Van Pelt: Saying that she has red hair is not a legitimate clue. Anyway she is too young.

J.J Laroche: He's to slow and monotone to be RJ. He has a secret, but its one that he thinks Jane knows. When he found out Jane "knew" his secret, he gave into Jane's demands. RJ would not do that.

Kimball Cho: Let's get real here. This is cho. He is too Cho-like to be RJ. Also he was there when RJ killed Rebecca. (and it was probably RJ himself who killed Rebecca based on the Joyful expression on her face when she saw him.

Lorelei Martins: It wouldn't make any sense for her be RJ.

Luther Wainright: Dead as well. Let's stop accusing the dead shall we.

Patrick Jane: He does not have multiple personality disorder. It wouldn't make sense for him to be RJ either.

Sam Bosco: He's Dead

Summer Edgecombe: She has nothing to do with the RJ case.

Susan Darcy: She could have something to do with the case but she is not RJ.

Teresa Lisbon: There are many reasons. She is a girl, she was in the cellar when RJ was watching, etc.

Wayne Rigsby: RJ is a controling narcissist. He could never be as silly and sweet as Rigsby is.

Personally i think that evrything Rosalind Harker says is a load of crap. I think she is more evil than we are led to believe.

Also Rosalind Harker... Dean Harker... Perhaps there is some relation... they do both have Red Hair.

        There was an episode in the earlier seasons in which one prisoner was helped by jane to escape when he said he had information about RJ. This guy was killed by red john along with an hooker. On the walls it was written in blood: "He is mar". He might have been trying to write he is mars. Also, ellis mars gives his contact card to jane on one episode. The card contained some symbol of a tiger burning bright.
