THE THEORIES

Tolman Bunting.

I'm little surprised that no one actually things that he might be Red John?

Tolman Bunting is played by veteran actor Fisher Stevens (Oscar wining Producer) in episode 18-5-4 in season 2.

He is displayed as very, smart, and to likes games. He is also a Social engineer and Professional codebreaker - something that can give him a lot of conections in high places.

New to the show, but quickly hooked. Haven't seen season 4, but will shortly. Lorelei watched the 2 shake hands. Does that takes us back to season 4 at a bar in Las Vegas. Does he shake hands with the old client? Jane meets Stiles at a viewing of the movie North by Northwest. That seems like a clue. Is Lorelei the Eve Marie Saint character? Dyes her hair blond, goes to a remote cabin; similar to the cabin scene at Mr. Rushmore in N by NW. That makes Lorelei FBI. That would make it easier to get her out of prison. Need to go back and watch season 4 and 5.

Red John is Det.Marco Francis.
1.) He has had only one appearance and that was in the episode 'Seeing Red'. Title is self explanatory.
2.) He is a police officer with access to it's networks and being a detective he will obviously meet damaged people, damaged people who he can use, like Lorelei after her sister was killed.
3.) The message written on the wall in Mexico 'He is Mar'. Very possible that he was writing 'He is Mar(co Francis)'.
4.) Det. Francis even fits the description of Red John. He is a lot like Jane, charming, manipulating...
5.) He and Jane shaked hands only once!

I don't know who RJ is but i can exlude someone on this suspects:

Every woman: I don't know why there are so many theory about Lisbon, Van Pelt or Kristina Frye. RJ is definitely a man. We saw his build when he saved Patrick, Lorelai referes to him with HE, and a lot of other clues

Rigsby: Too tall, personality doesn't fit

Cho: personality doesn't fit

Surely some of them are under RJ's control.

The others are still suspects

I don't know, but this show is in jepardy of being cancelled. No season 6 or 7...so this is it. If they do have a season 6 it will be a miracle. With Football messing with most people's DVR recording and being so late on Sunday night going against Homeland and Sunday Night Football...it is doomed.  The writers had better sum things up and capture or kill red john and end the show in style...or not and piss everyone off that has been watching for the last few years. (Not to mention that the full episodes on the web act all wonky and sometimes don't work, unless you are using Blue Cop's free cable..then it is ok)

As far as predictions go..I think Robert Kirkland is a paid informant to powerful men. It seems his involvement in this last episode was to protect Jane's kidnapping story.  It just seems like he was jumping to conclusions very fast, from the car to the "gun" behind the rock. What the writers didn't explain was why if he is involved would he let Lisbon talk to Lorelei's mother. That seems like a risk, and seems to be RJ's undoing.  Lorelei is going to find the truth out and then be put in a tough position of either killing RJ herself or being killed. I am sure the writers won't allow her to kill RJ so she is dead, and so will be either Jane or Rj or both. Kirkland is just a gopher for the likes of RJ and Volker..nothing more.  I am holding on to Visualize just by the way that Lorelei was talking about her sister's death being a gift to her potential.  This is crap that cults puports.. This is how Lorelie was manipulated by RJ..it is obvious.

This whole Lorelie mother thing is strange.  Why was she not interviewed before this episode? Would the police and FBI not found out about her sister being killed if their was an investigation on file. It seems like sloppy writing..I think they are just trying to stretch and already thinning plot arc.

Also I do believe that Jane killed his wife and daughter's actual murderer.  Bradley Whitford was the killer, but RJ put him up to it and was in the room when it happened.  RJ keeps on giving PJ gifts, first the actual murderer of his wife and children, then Lorelei, and the investigation thrown back to Lisbon's crew..but no; PJ is the gift to Lorelie...not the other way around.

What do we know about Red John?

1. Red John is certainly a guy. As confirmed by Lorelei. When she refers to Red John as "His", "Him" and "He".

2. He has a strong connection with females, from his victims, to the way he kills them. Stabbing/Cutting someone is a personal thing. Women usually kill this way. Not to mention the feminine touch of painting the victims nails in Red. (Jane also talks a lot about having a beautiful assistant to create distractions). If we look at RJ's past, he has always used women to do dirty work for him. So maybe its a female killer but Red John is the puppet master?

3. He knows Jane personally. He hates Jane enough to make his life hell, but he also likes Jane enough to keep him alive. Brett Stiles also mentions that what RJ does is out of love. Indicating that Red John actually likes Jane more than anything. So who is close enough to Jane to see him at his worst but also be there for him when he needs someone? Who loves Jane and wants Jane to feel the same way?

4. How does Red John know so much about Janes personal life? Who does Patrick talk to the most? Who knows more about Jane than anyone else?

5. Red John has history with Jane. RJ's assistant may not, but RJ certainly does.

My main suspects to be Red John have been Laroche, Bertram, Minelli and Mashburn. Laroche being my personal favourite for a vast number of reasons.
(I also can't get the thought of PJ being RJ himself, there's so much evidence to support this. More evidence to prove this than disprove)

J. J. Laroche

1. This man is clever, some would argue he is smarter than Jane.

2. His quote when speaking to Hightower, "I won all of them" when referring to science fares. Implying no one has been able to match him, he will always finish on top.

3. He is my only suspect who lives a lonely life. A very lonely life. Giving him enough time to plan out his actions.

4. Everyone fears him and he knows it. Red Johns trademark, "the smiley" is more of a subliminal message, "I've won again, and this is my intro". He makes sure this is the first thing people see before the body/bodies. Striking fear before anyone sees his final piece.

5. Why would he hand Jane a suspect list of potential killers when Jane is one of those suspects? Maybe because he knows it wasn't Jane and wanted to see how clever Jane could be with the list? O'laughlin committed the murder but Hightower looked the most likely suspect. And then that assassin going into Bertrams hotel room made him look like the suspect. Thanks to Laroche, all hell broke loose and diverted Janes attention from Laroche to everyone else.

6. His name. Yes I know this is a long shot but does it not make you wonder? J. J. Laroche. What do the J's stand for? John? Did you know Red John in French is John Larouge. Larouge sounding a lot like LaRoche.

7. His knowledge of William Blakes poetry. His "secret" in his safe. His sneaky tendency to show up from no where and catch people off guard. His power within the CBI. There's so much to this guy.

I can't put the blame soley on Laroche as there is reasons for so many other people to be Red John.

Whoever Heller decides to make Red John needs to be someone we ALL know, not just someone who's been lurking in the background. If he's going to do that then Red Johns assistant must be one of the main female characters, Van Pelt, Kristina, Lisbon, Rosalind, Brenda, Susan?

Could Patrick really be Red John? My brain is about to fry! This show has literally taken over my life
