just my two cents: As much as many of you didn't like the Red John episode, I really think the way they close this series will be even worse.  Yeah, the RJ episode would have been a disappointing series finale, but this new beginning thing doesnt seem to have enough steam.  The only ending I can think of that would please most fans would be Jane and Lisbon ending up together but I think most people on this website dont even care about that part of the Mentalist.  I just hope the show makes it to the end of the season so we have and ending that makes sense.  It feels like the way things are going they should have just made the RJ episode the series finale but explained the clues better and made it up to par with the other season finales

Dear WHO IS RED JOHN? Visitors,

We welcome all to join us on our site! I built this site to accomplish just what the title says, figure out who Red John is BEFORE he was revealed.

It seems to be a huge question if Red John has actually been revealed and/or killed.

I would like to let all of our site visitors to know that we have talked with CBS and representatives for Bruno Heller and I was even fortunate enough to have interviewed "The Mentalist" Main star -Simon Baker.

All 3, confirmed that Xander Berkeley, better known as Thomas McAlllister, was indeed the infamous character known as 'Red John'.

CBS even went as far as saying that character Brett Partridge was a top suspect, mainly due to his 'unusual' voice; that sort of resembled the voice Red John used.

In the end, the high pitched creepy voice everyone heard whenever the secret killer contacted Patrick Jane, was done by no other than--Simon Baker!

So the new beginning is taking off the vest ..

In the series Red John gets people to love him and become dependent of him. But look at us now. We all miss him and are desperate now he's gone. We all want him back so much. Kinda ironic isn't it?
