THE THEORIES

Everyone should watch the leak episode before the real episode airs. Watch it for what it is - the final step of misdirection before the true episode airs and everything will finally start to make sense.

Since seeing the leak episode on Thursday i've become more and more confident its an alternate ending completely different to the real. Not saying large chunks of the footage won't appear, but I think 3 or 4 key scenes will differ that will completely transform the episode.

Come on! Parts of the leak version are pure comedy!

RJ dialling 911 when he's wounded?
Jane's magic trick to disarm RJ by launching a pigeon at him?
Haha!

I can just imagine a room full of writers coming up with this fake script having a good chuckle on our behalf.

Think of how good the twists have been in this show until the end of season 5? Thats what this show thrives on. Clever twists that outsmart both us and the bad guys.
There was nothing even remotely clever about that leak episode. Do you really think that would be the case in the episode that will define the series?

Get ready for an amazing episode that will not only satisfy you, but will make all 7 preceding episodes look fantastic too.

This is just my opinion, I guess I kind of have to vent. No spoilers.

So erm... the website got leaked. I can't believe that A) They would be so stupid as to let someone get that episode or even hack for it. B) Someone would actually be so obsessed or low-life enough to hack for it (if anyone actually hacked to get it).

Also, it's our faults we have these spoilers. There was actually someone who was like "Come on, someone's gotta be able to leak it." I think it was a youtube member. And it's also our faults for watching it and spreading the stuff even more. It's like wildfire or a plague.

I have to say, I was hooked after Fire and Brimstone. Now that was an amazing episode, from my point of view. Anything could've been possible after it. The Great Red Dragon disappointed me unfortunately. Not really worth the hype I created at my household last week. In my opinion, I think the RJ reveal should have been done somewhere dark and dilapidated, like an old house, somewhere that kind of had a meaning in the story. Red John is a dark and mysterious figure. He's not a fool. Red John shouldn't have been captured and killed in one episode. I didn't exactly watch the leaked one so don't blame me if I get something somewhat wrong.

Lastly this is just random but I rewatched a bunch of the episodes from the earlier seasons. May I just say, that teacup sure gets around!

Well, less than a day until the hopefully "glorious" reveal. I still have some faith in the series, and I won't stop watching until they stop producing.

Thanks for the person who created this site by the way!

Personally this
is not the fact that the Sheriff is Red John who bothers me it’s how the
episode was bad and strangely scripted. Firstly
there is this 20 second promo trailer episode where we all see without any
difficulty that McAllister was involved. At this point some of us have started
to think logically that Red John was clearly McAllister. Others
like me found this issue too obvious and thought that if McAllister appeared in
the promo then it couldn’t be him because Bruno Heller would not make such a big
mistake, especially for an episode as expected as this one. And
then comes strangely this 6x08 leaked episode, and we see these fucking promo predictions
becoming true, so no particular surprise for Red john identity, cause we can
expect that, but surprise to see the obvious way all this crap has been
scripted. But
the most curious thing is the fact that all the various recent interviews I've
read promise us the "RedJohn" episode would be huge and tremendous
with lots of surprises and twists; according to these itw they promised us a
fucking epic episode by far. And
when you see the reaction of people who have seen it it’s completely opposite
to what the interviews have announced. There
is a huge gap between what the interviews have reported concerning the episode
and the reality with that people huge disappointment reaction. So I questioning myself like
many others here about a probable fake episode even if it seems quite
impossible. Cause by some way this episode looks like a joke: 6x08 promo with
RJ appeared in it + a strange leak concerning by chance the most awaited Mentalist
episode = it sounds very weird.  Unfortunately
I didn’t expect any surprise Sunday, but hope I’m wrong!

Guys up to this point I felt all the theories of a fake episode were wishful thinking (including mine).

BUT

I remember watching the promo, and having the distinct feeling that PJ was talking to RJ in the church scene. A detail that made me feel that was cathing a glimpse of RJ's ring. The scene is on the extended promo only, and is up only for a split second, but enough for the eye to pick up and leave an impression. At mark 0:19-0:20, RJ makes a dismissing motion with his left hand. It is worth noting that no such scene exists in the leaked episode. But it goes further than that.

I checked again, and I could see it clearly. Determined that I was only seeing what I wanted to see and not what was there, I asked a family member who has no idea of the show to check that scene for me and describe to me the hand they see on that video part. I did not ask them directly, cause I didn't want them to be suggested and just see something that wasn't there. After showing them the scene twice, they said: "I dunno, he has a ring?"

That was enough for me to go on and get a few different stills from the extended promo video, just to make sure it wasn't a strange light angle or a nail.

And here's the final result:

P.S. I had to include the pigeon, given that no matter what Sunday brings us, that little guy will always be one of the most memorable characters in the show.

I was just informed that tomorrow we will not see the episode 'Red John', the episode will be skipped over a week for Bruno Heller has time to remake this horrible end he did.
