Owain Yeoman went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and yet acts like Clark Kent??? Tis not natural.
Question: Why does his dad hate him so much? Most parents are proud of their kids when the kids don't fall into a life of crime, even if the parents are supposed career criminals (TV stereotyping to establish my conclusions).
Question: Why the goatee in the flashback episode? What happened to it? Any rational minded person, if that exists, would clearly understand a goatee as a signature mark of a person trying to hide something, hence, serial killer! Is that so much of a leap?
Question: Why the baby out of wedlock drama? Seems needless to establish a weird relationship for Rigsby and have it lead nowhere, right? I mean the woman is a bit weird too, right?
Question: How does the sheriff, who is supposed to be Red John, A.K.A the most evil of all criminals in the history of cop shows, lose at Rock-paper-scissors to Jane like some stupid little child?
Question: Why does Rigsby express anger by jumping from high places to catch criminals? RJ is supposed to be afraid of heights, so what better way to show reckless abandonment when one is angry?
Question: Isn't it true that all serial killers strive to look like Ted Bundy/clean cut? jk
Fact: Owain Yeoman is a Brit and thus perfect for a Sherlock Holmes type program. The dude picked a red head for a new partner!
IT CANT BE THE SHERIFF because we need a sense of serious foreboding and creepiness about Red John for it to be Red John. We need to see Red John in action from a more intimate point of view so as to see the truly dark nature of him before he is caught. There needs to be a creep factor that is off the scale, yo!!! The sheriff is a great actor but just not Red John! Rigsby, with a little more exploration into his divergence from his dad, a dad that happens to be another well known actor, could establish a serious level of darkness, pity, terror, etc..
Show Rigsby hiding in that barn!
