THE THEORIES

Not saying he's RJ just want to point out a spooky detail the directors put there to freak us. Play again the nightmare of Lisbon. Look very carefully when camera focuses on dead Wayne's face. His eyes look to the floor and just the last moment they look right at the camera! Spooky!
Also in the same scene, all three are covered in blood except for Jane although Reede is next to him with his hands all bloody! His cup of tea is next to him on the floor and it's still on its little plate, and not even broken! Strange.

So if Partridge is not dead, Jane can't do nothing to prove it, right? The people who cover up his false death would not let Jane anywhere near his body, right?
So Lisbon is taken away with the ambulance. I would think they would clean her face in the ambulance or if not then when she gets to the hospital first thing. Since she has no wounds I mean. But Jane is in a harry to clean her face right there. Is he taking a sample of what is on her face, maybe?

Heller wants us off track.
Yet there are several things that could be big clues but because of there simplicity we can hardly see the forest for the trees.

I suspect Wayne Rigsby. Why?

1. He speaks Spanish. - The use of Y in "Tyger, Tyger"
2. Most of RJ's victims are women. - He acts awkwardly in front of women
3. His dad Steve Rigsby is a member of IRON Gods Motorcycle Gang and stayed in prison in Lompoc, the same prison as Jared Renfrew & Orville Tanner's.
4. He looks like the man in photo killing Carter Peak. (Am I really the only one noticed it at first glance?)
5. He was the sort of character whom you expect the least being RJ & he's been there from the very first episode.
6. He likes Grace Van Pelt who has red hair.
7. He is the 3rd man whom GVP fell in love with: 1st the madman outside the CBI and 2nd this madman O'laughlin & then there's Rigsby. (could be RJ - a madman too)
8. He imitates Patrick for a couple of times.
9. He pretends to be naive - perhaps really a good actor, our man RJ.
10. Last but not the least, according to Sophie Mille, RJ's a good whistle blower.. Does nobody ever remember in the Season 2 episode 2: Scarlet Letter there is this scenario:

"The Mentalist: The Scarlet Letter (#2.2)" (2009)

Kimball Cho
: If she's a jumper, job's done.
Wayne Rigsby: Yeah. The senator's husband dumps her, she wants to make him feel bad
[Rigsby whistles]
Wayne Rigsby: splat.
Grace Van Pelt: Don't talk that way.
Wayne Rigsby: Okay not splat, bam.

Rosalind Harker's description of RJ could be misleading.

Rigsby's young but we never know the other side of the story.

And I can hardly recall there is this episode when Rigsby seems to have a phobia over something.. Gonna search for it.

From a writing standpoint, and from the beginning of the first season, I have said Red John was Rigsby. He is the perfect choice. His 'Red' name comes not from blood, but his attraction to redheads. Over the seasons he has revealed enough about his past to suggest that he is a likely candidate for a serial killer. Abusive alcoholic mother, traumatized in school, awkward, intelligent, violently repressed, white male, mid thirties, and drawn to be near or involved in criminal activities. As part of an elite investigative team (first arson and later CBI), he could have access to scenes of unimaginable carnage, yet pull of the perception of being there merely because its his job. From said job, he could also watch Jane and monitor the investigation. I could be wrong. And I'm not sure I want to be right. But Rigsby is the likely candidate for RJ. And if it isn't him, its likely to be Van Pelt working with him.

I saw something very interesting on the latest episode.
1.-Notice in the dream secuence how they are holding the knife.
a.) Reid Smith Uses The left Arm
b.)Gale Bertram Uses His left arm.
c.)Ray Haffner Uses His Right Arm When He Strikes Teresa
         With The Knife.
Right Before He Painted Teresa's face Rj Was Holding It
With his left hand.when he killed the girl filmaker he used his left arm
to hold and swing the knife. My point is i don't think Ray is Rj.
2.-Notice how Rigsby for a split second he looks up at lisbon when he is supposed to be dead...weird unless teresa suspects wayne somehow
3.-If in fact Rj is afraid of heights.....the pigeons or birds might be the hidden clue
from the last scene in episode 1 and again in episode 2.
4.It is very obvious they are going out of their way to make certain suspects more
suspicious....when is more obvious that they are working for Rj.

From the list i think Rj Is a.)Bret Stiles  b.)Gale Bertram
outside of the list a.)Walter Mashburn b.)Wayne Rigsby

Rigsby! No one's that nice and now I have undeniable proof!

S06E02
Point 1: At 30min into the episode, Rigsby is in Lisbon's office getting the assignment to go across town to try get the files. Look out the windows, it's day.
Point 2: Around 33min, the whole team, minus Rigsby, is having a pow-wow about the current case. Look out the windows, it's night.
Point 3: 38min, He's at the house, calling Lisbon about the files. Look out the windows, it's day again.

It doesn't take an overnight trip to get to Dr Miller's house. There is a 24hr period that Rigsby is MIA during a cross-town task. Ain't nobody can explain dat!

While watching the rerun of last season's finale, it suddenly occured to me that Red John is Rigsby. There was really nothing specific that pointed to Rigsby, except it makes complete sense.

He's a member of the CBI, and has grown close to Jane.
He's the absolute last person anyone would suspect, because he's so naive, innocent, and nice.
Physically, he fits the description of Red John - though he's probably on the younger side of the spectrum.

Like I said, there is absolutely nothing that points overtly to Rigsby but it makes so much sense for my instincts.

(I'm only posting this here because my husband said I needed to - just in case I'm right.)

Listen closely to red john's voice when he answers Lisbon's cell phone and imagine Wayne Rigsby is talking. It's him. Also from a story telling standpoint, it's got to be someone on Lisbon's team for it to be A) shocking and B) good storytelling. Don't look outside of our main characters. And with the announcement that the actors playing Rigsby and Van Pelt leaving the show half way through the season and that Red John will be revealed before 2013 is over. Rigsby is Red John and he will kill Van Pelt before 2013 is over.
