red john is not on the list, its misdirection, patrick thinks he's on list but he's not. those 7 can be disciples or acolytes of red john but they are not actually him, i suspect wayne rigsby for being red john. He fits the physical description and imagine him imitating red john voice, he's voice is so fit for that.
I accuse Rigsby. He is a womanizer that has played Patrick from the beginning, pretending to be the simpleton. What does Jane do upon their first meeting? Observe that he is into VanPelt and "manipulates" him into the relationship. This is all an act, as if jane has control over him, allowing him to get close and keep up on all of Jane's activities. He has a dark side with ties to criminal pasts and a tendency for redheads.
He controls and has used Bob Kirkland to give him the list from Patrick's cork board. The real twist here is that Jane was on to him and specifically left him off of the board, knowing full well that the board would be compromised. Having confirmation that this has happened, Jane is playing a part, "keeping secrets" from the team and forcing an "animosity" between him and Lisbon. The illusion of kinks in the armor. He is playing RJ/WR.
I think Rigsby is working for RJ.
I started to suspect him in Season 5 Episode 16.
He is talking to Jane in the kitchen about Lorelei. Jane seems hesitant to give Rigsby information.
And if you watch the Season 6 premiere preview, he looks very suspicious. Watches Grace on the phone, and trying to find out what Lisbon said to her.

I have to admitt I love Wayne but I also agree that he could be red john because :
Red John likes the colour red and he had a relationship with the blind redhead and also rigsby loves van pelt the other red head. Wayne has a brutal streak as Patrick says when Wayne is hypnotised , he knows almost everything about Patrick and works with him everyday . Wayne's violent farther could have been in on this or even the blind red head.
The only reason that I disagree with this theory is that rigsby is that rigsby is so sweet and does not seem too smart.
short hair, around 6 feet, inside CBI. He keeps an eye on jane so he is ahead of 1 step to red john. possibly had a strong thing in d past with jane's fraud business, killed his family, wanted him to join CBI and suffer everytime.
I don't like WR, i'm pretty sure that Lisbon is helping him. Remember this, Rigsby has a second personality. "Rigsby was the victim of child abuse. Rigsby worked as an arson specialist in San Diego before becoming a CBI agent." He fits Rosalind Harker description. He is strong enough. After Bosco dies he is the onlyone that doesn't drinks tequila and both of them (Lisbon and Rigsby) are the only one that drinks scotch. Wayne's fathers first appeared in "Like a Redheaded Stepchild" reference to WR being RJ. According to a character list from the Pilot script, Rigsby was originally named "Wayne Gilzean" (Gilzean: Servant of St John) so he can also be a servant of RJ.
I think Rigby is Red John because he jealous of Police Officer Chow. Chow is also very suspicion himself with always reading books while watchings suspect could very well be planting evidence at these seens. Could be a tag team duo of Chow and Rigby trying because they is trying too outdone one each other with killings.
