Who is Red John?

Theories of NikMenta (36)

QUESTION

In your opinion:

Which is the reason a lot of TV shows have crappy endings?
(ex. "LOST" , "Dexter" , "The Sopranos" , "How I Met your Mother" and so on)

P.S. 1:  You can add or disagree with some of my choices of course.
P.S. 2:
I didn't include "The Mentalist" because I don't know, we have a whole season ahead; things can happen.

Looking back, I can tell that Lisbon could make the PERFECT Red John.

Think
about it.She was there since the beginning. She was the leader of Red
John investigation. She is strong, very good with weapons and kind of a
lesbian.(Or at least that's how I see her)

She likes Jane but she
wants to be friends with him, not lover. That's why for 6 seasons until
now she denied all the romance chemistry that was growing.

That also explains why RJ didn't kill Lisbon at the "pigeon house" .

Plus
that explains how Lisbon got the list before Jane. She was always trying to watch Jane with the list and what he got.

She had help from Lorelei (also a lesbian :P) to make the tape.

She has father issues (He was a sadistic drunk as far as we know)

She is the leader of BA but of course she is too clever to have the three-dot tattoo.
Plus that explains the high pitched voice RJ has.
She is naive enough for us to understand she is extremely clever.
She always tries to stand against Jane and his tricks, kinda like challenging him.
Remember the episode where Jane went to visit Sophie Miller. When she called him she said "You are at her house right?"
She came up with the trick at Jane's house when the suspects were gathered. She hypnotized McAllister into thinking he is RJ.

She always comes and rescues Jane at the exact moment.Random?I don't think so.

Jane thinks he knows Lisbon well and can tell when she lies. But is that really true?
Besides we never got to see Lisbon's daily routine! And every time this subject comes at the surface she always avoids to answer.

She could easily be a member of Visualize at the past. She has a mysterious relationship with Bret Styles.

I don't accuse Lisbon for being Red John but I would like it if it turned to be that way.(Not a chance! :D)

Thanks for reading!

Question:

If Mentalist gets renewed for another season in a different channel, then I suppose the writers change?
And in that case we may have a possible return of RJ? I mean if i were about to be a writer at the mentalist my first job would be to clean up the mess Heller created.

The site's popularity is decreasing day by day.
I think it is in the position that the people who still post on this site are 20 maximum.

So, we can conclude that most of Mentalist fans have accepted what we watched and moved on.I suppose all of us will do the same someday.

I don't want to flame anyone anymore.I don't want to blame Stoopkid or whoever posts uncommon theories in this site.I don't wanna blame Bruno Heller nor Mentalist crew.I don't want to make fun of the fact that Sheriff is Red John and the way that he died.I don't want to watch the rest of the series either.

For me, Red John is still alive. And no, I don't care if the show will end without showing any kind of clues to us so we can assume that RJ is still alive.

It's the healthiest of all things to do.Make a theory that pleases you and answers your questions, (just try not to leave plot holes) and stick with it.Nobody will ever blame you.

I still hope for a twist to happen, but I'm not that optimistic for many reasons, it doesn't matter. It's just a shame, because "The Mentalist" was a truly different kind of TV show than any other. And now it's just a common Crime solving series with nothing special or innovating.
So much potential in this Show, with an appropriate ending would be one of the greatest TV shows ever.
That's my last post in this site, I just wanted to thank all of you for the amazing theories that carried me away, gave me hope, tough me some kind of lesson, amazed me.I will still be reading your theories with excitement. And I hope with all of my heart, that someday I will have the appetite to post again.

I don't get it;
In the list Jane gave to Abbott there are several names that certainly are accomplishes to Red John, but they aren't any sort of cops.

BA is insisted of people within Law Enforcement, so why the hell Jane could include those names?
(ex.Timothy Carted, Rosalind Harker, Jason Lennon etc)
I don't know what to think anymore. And Abbott says: "We've already caught them"

How could they catch them if they aren't in Law Enforcement? And yes, Jason Lennon and Timothy Carter are dead, but Rosalind? How they came up with catching her?And she wouldn't have a tattoo because she isn't in Law Enforcement.I don't know....The Mentalist drowned into its own plot...

Gotta be a big twist or else I see the show canceled very soon and I'm not even a psychic like McAllister.....

And we are too brainwashed by the whole "BA" thing.I've always supposed and wanted to believe that Red John is a person, one extra gifted and mentally twisted man.Not just a nickname and behind thousands of people thinking and acting for him.

I'd like to disagree with the guy that stated: "You are disappointed about the RJ reveal but you weren't disappointed from the impossible tricks that Jane came up to catch the killers"

This show is meant to be 100% real, with no signs of supernatural staff or unrealistic things to happen.I can't recall a single case where Jane's trick was impossible to do or think.Correct me if I'm wrong.

And then, from all the things we've watched over the 5 seasons and we were truly impressed by the intelligence and creativity of Patrick Jane, then we watch episode 6x08.Some might say it was a good episode.(Not me)
This episode was way off the show's standards.

Red John and Patrick Jane, have a lot in common.
They both love classical music and tea.
They both are weak/don't know things about physical fight.(remember that RJ uses his knife, stunt guns and other staff to bring down his victims)
They both have ultimate mental skills.
They both are more clever than the average mind.
They both have hypnotism skills.

And then Red John is portrayed as a common psycho, sexual perverted man, with no special intelligence, that he depended on others to think and act for him, a man that runs  a marathon with a bullet inside him, a man that makes fun with the "Red John" symbolism, (he has a rough voice and he fakes the RJ one, smiley face-those didn't mean a thing eventually.)

I believed in something deep behind RJ's behavior.I supposed that he painted the smiley risking to get caught for a reason.I believed that his voice was his natural, high pitched, calm, spooky voice.
When Rebecca stated that RJ has a plan of "love and enlightenment" I certainly didn't expect this.(A cop secret organization that turned out to be not that secret eventually.)

I expected a 20 minute or so conversation between the two basic characters of the show, flashbacks, a connection between them, answers to our questions.

In any case, you might wanna watch again the end of season 3.
85 epic minutes.Revelations, action etc etc.
And then watch 6x08.
-15 minutes to arrange the meeting between Bertram and Patrick Jane
-15 minutes FBI chasing PJ.
-2 minutes conversation between McAllister and Patrick Jane.(nothing substantial)
-15 minutes of Jane chasing McAllister.

Red John IS vulnerable. But I obviously didn't see that coming. For me, catching Red John must have been an amazing twist that Jane made so he was able to be two steps ahead of RJ and catch him in the end.

And even if I somehow get over the way RJ died, I will never get over the fact that they didn't explain a damn thing.

Hope my thoughts are common with yours, let me know what you think about all those thing I've written in the comment section.

I re-watched episode 4x07, "Blinking Red Light", and I realized something amazing.

Jane cooperates with Red John in order to bring down a serial killer of teenage girls, because he had no clues connecting him with the murders.

Jane could make Panzer (the killer) a bait to Red John, and catch him in the act.
He didn't though. He preferred RJ to kill him just to get rid of him.

Here is my point: Jane knows McAllister isn't RJ, he cooperates with RJ in order to reveal the secret organization within Law Enforcement.(Blake Association)

-That's why RJ tells the poem "Tyger Tyger" to Jane at the season 2 finale.
-That's why RJ leads Jane to Kira Tinsley and the three-dot tattoo.
-That's why McAllister doesn't really know how RJ got the list and says "I'm psychic"

Red John was against this organization, probably because they copied his work,
or somehow irritated him.

No doubt there is a strong bond within RJ and Visualize.Maybe Stiles discovered the secret organization, and he tried to get advantage of it, by getting away with murders, no pay taxes and other criminal acts. It's not a coincidence that when Jane learned about the tattoo, the same time FBI started to chase Stiles, after all these years. They may suspected that Visualize is behind the reveal of the tattoo.(Kira Tinsley)

And maybe that's why Partridge died.(or faked his death, it doesn't matter).
He was either about to expose the bond between Visualize and the BA or he was just RJ that wanted to mislead Jane.

In conclusion, Patrick Jane and Red John are playing a game that both are forced to play.
-Jane wants revenge,
-Red John tries to avoid the identification.

So, in this game there are times where both of the players need to act together in order to continue the game. And that also explains why Red John wants to be friend with Patrick.
