It's Sam Bosco. He didn't died in Season 2, he asked reedee Smith to kill his Team because he was afraid that Lisbon finds out. The whole serie is about LISBON !!! Red John (Bosco) didn't kill Jane all over the years because he knew that Lisbon was in love with Jane.
