Since all the Partridge speculation has started up again - and getting stronger, I decided to go and take a look at the 1st Jane/Partridge scene once again. Series 1 - The Pilot episode.
We all know how the episode turned out. In order for this theory to 'work', Linus Wagner has to have played a role/been involved with RJ somehow (which wouldn't be out of order, considering Wagner was seen wearing the RJ 'suit' before anyone had a description of what it was RJ's wears until quite some time after the Pilot episode - maybe RJ was a Wagner patient and friend - mentor/son etc. ) But something caught my eye big time.
Patrick makes a huge show of stating that the smiley face is on the wrong wall, because it's not the 1st thing you see. Look on the wall behind the bed. A mirror - a rather large mirror. Reflecting everything that is on the opposite wall - but very carefully shot in terms of camera angles, because you don't see the 'smiley face's' reflection - but you DO see all the picture frames - so logic dictates that the 'smiley face' would also be reflected.
This negates Jane's theory (or PLANNED misdirect) that the smiley face was on the wrong wall, because it wouldn't be the first thing you see. If you walked in, that 'smiley face' would be reflecting and dominating the mirror as a reflection.
You would still see it first, before looking down. Just in it's reflected form.
Probably my imagination, and the mirror was a prop error - but then again.
It could have been Jane starting to play his game and Patridge/Wagner theirs?
