I follow and admire The Mentalist, that's what brought me here ..
I want to share with someone your and my thoughts :)
In my opinion, it is likely that Patrik Jane is Red John!
Ok, do not shoot immediately insults, I pray :)
I know it sounds pretty damn irritating,
and stupid ..
But I assure you that I have carefully weighed
of this possibility and continue to do so ..
There are many details that lead me to support
this hypothesis, perhaps too small or insignificant details ..
or large .. and certainly interpreted all mine ..
So I'll just say only this:
Nobody gives us the absolute certainty about the identity
of characters appearing and pretending to Red John!
For example, that masked man who saved Jane from those loonies and which plagued him with "Tiger Tiger .."
may not be Red John, but just another disciple!
Each macabre ritual that bears the signature of Red John
could be made every time a new disciple!
The murder of the family of Jane may be the result
of a sect!
What I claims, with huge doubts and misgivings,
is that Jane is doing a sort
of absurd little game with himself!
Sorry, but for now I do not know yet put it any better than that :)
Jane's past we know little or nothing ..
The red smile resembles the face of Jane ..
If you think the split personality
or auto suggestion induced by hypnosis
are not even remotely
a possible truth that unites
Jane and the Red, well ..
until now we've seen worse!
I conclude .. and sorry that I have dwelt ..
