The hit CBS TV show The Mentalist, shown in Canada on CTV, is full of riddles, mysteries, and anagrams connecting the show to a shocking side of Roman history most people don't know. The truth about Bret Stiles, the "Visualize" cult leader, and Brett Partridge, the forensics expert so many fans think is Red John, has finally been solved! The following study explains it all! But first, how to decode BRET STILES and BRETT PARTRIDGE:

Gaius Julius Caesar Strabo = Gnaeus Pompeius Strabo
To decode Bret Stiles, who represents the white-haired elderly father of Julius Caesar and Pompey the Great in ancient Rome, you have to use steganography, a code-breaking technique where you simply get rid of the debris to tease out the hidden message. It is one of the most secure methods of writing codes, because it can only be deciphered by people who already know what types of words might be hidden. Bruno Heller has altered a few letters, but the truth is plain to see!

GAIUS JULIUS CAESAR STRABO
xxxx S   xx LI xx   xxx S xx  xTRAB x

S LI S TRAB reversed is
BART S IL S or BRET STILES (a "stile" is a set of steps used to walk over a Roman wall in Britain)
To decode Brett Partridge, who represents Octavius, (according to the new study excerpted below, his real name would have been Gaius Julius Caesar Strabo the eighth) Caesar's gay lover who helped him butcher Caesar's daughter Julia in 54 BC, then gave Octavius the baby she was pregnant with to raise as his own daughter Julia (Remember the two gay guys who stole Elaine's armoir on the street in the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld? Then the Soup Nazi, as Caesar, gave her another baby/armoir, but after he got angry at her, she threatened to tell everyone his secrets. Wait, does this mean Gaius was guarding the BABY or the TOWER in Britain? No, Larry david and Jerry Seinfeld must have been switching metaphors, using the armoir as the tower, but also as the baby, and also as the place where Julia found the documents that would allow her to claim her cement-company fortune) :

GAIUS JULIUS CAESAR STRABO STRABO
G x I xx xxxxxx    xxxxxx    x TRAB x x TRAB x

G I TRAB TRAB reversed is
BART BART I G or BRET PARTRIDGE (as others have pointed out, there is a work by William Blake, "A Brace of Partridge")

More proof that "The Mentalist" is secretly about the Roman Caesar family's role in the invention of Christianity!
[Note: I recently rewatched "Red All Over", and Bret Stiles seemed to be telling Patrick Jane, while still acting creepy so as to not blow his cover if Red John is watching, that he's going to help Patrick bring down Red John. As I'd already guessed that Bret Partridge is Brett Stiles' relative, now with the information below, it's clear that Octavius was Strabo's great-grandson. So is Bret Stiles the grandfather of Brett Partridge? It's good news for Jane if he is, because Strabo disapproved of Julius, so he wanted to help bring him down! The bad news for Jane is that Octavius helped kill Julia - that would be how that one guy knew Jane's wife's toenails were painted in blood! Brett Partridge was the friend of Red John's who told him! Because he helped kill Jane's wife! Octavius was Caesar's gay teenage lover, hence Brett painting her toenails.]

Excerpt of "New Study: Lives of the Rich and Famous Are Controlled by the A.C.F."
Certain family trees have clearly been “unzipped”, a way of subtly hiding the prevalence of first cousin, uncle to niece, and even sibling marriages within large aristocratic families. If one key individual, born from siblings, married to a niece, and then forcing their own grandchildren to marry, is given a disguised version of their true name and said to have come from a family whose specific members are unknown, a key incestuous link is removed. The missing person is then replaced by a similar name that is also missing specifics, a clue to elite scholars, says the study.“Pompey, a member of the immediate family of Julius Caesar, is one of the more well-known examples of unzipping. When the ruling families of Rome decided to allow the Caesar family into their genetic circles to acquire their light hair and gray eye color, there was no limit to the inbreeding that occurred over the next few generations, as they were considered new blood,” claims the report, which states as its goal to increase public awareness as to why celebrity and political figures behave in such strange ways, undermining the public good while living in fear of horrendous potential consequences if they veer from their given agenda of promoting cultural values similar to those of ancient Rome, now that Christianity is being “set up for the fall” through A.C.F., which seems to trust that the “charitable” slave population Christianity was designed to create is secure.“Julius Caesar’s father, referred to as both Gaius Julius Caesar Strabo and Gnaeus Pompeius Strabo, was married first to his niece Cornelia Sulla, resulting in Pompey the Great, Cornelia, and Pompeia, then eight years later fathered Julius Caesar by another wife. Thus Pompey was marrying his half-niece when he married Caesar’s daughter Julia, and Caesar twice married a half-sister, first Cornelia, the mother of Julia, then Pompeia. By removing Pompey and claiming two different paternal lines, it becomes a family guided by political alliances, rather than a sickening attempt to produce a blond royal prince at all costs.”

Ok, so, firstly, for all of those people that think Red John is Bertram:

- it  would make sense, but it is definitely too obvious for it to be him because the mentalist is known for it's plot twists.

- and if it was Bertram, then at the end of season 3 (Strawberries & cream) then the assassin sent to kill hightower would have gone to the room that they told bertram she was staying to find the CBI Red John accomplice that burnt Todd Johnson alive (granted, she did go to that room but it was only so she could climb to the other room with the rope). as Bertram is part of the Blake association, then the assasin could've been ordered to check both rooms for Hightower, this one was just a mixed up thought that i haven't described well haha.

but i think bertram is more than just a tool for red john, he is closer to him.

so, i think that if red john is anyone on the list, then sheriff mcallister is red john because:

Firstly, He is alive, and one of the bodies found after the explosion wasn't him. Say he is red john, then he wouldn't bring a bomb into Jane's house without a backup plan. He is cleverer than that. So he makes the world think that he is dead in order to draw away the suspicion that he is red john. Also, an interview i read somewhere, went something like this:

Interveiwer: so are we sure that those three died in the fire? and it wasn't a trick/plot twist?

Writer: well, yes, is was real bodies in that house, but there are some surprising turns coming up regarding the explosion.

notice how he dodged the question and gave it away a bit?

-in last nights episode (The Great Red  Dragon) Bertram went to a vault storage room thingy by the name of Thomas (which i think is Sheriff Thomas Mcallister) and my theory was confirmed when there was wine bottles in there, because Napa is the wine country!

So you may be thinking 'say that is McAllisters Storage room, that doesn't mean he's Red John'

well, there are several reasons why this could mean that he is Red John. Firstly, he could've contacted Bertram and asked for a favour (which he had to do as part of the blake association) to go into his storage and get passport, money etc. and plant the fake lighter USB stick with a code message, knowing that jane would solve it (i suspect it told him to meet him in the church because jane doesn't believe in God so why would he go to a church, and he wouldnt just let go of the RJ investigation like that after 10 years of devoting his life to it, so just told Lisbon he was giving up for the same reason he left her by the sunset and drove off in 'Fire and Brimestone')

And also, if you look really closely, after Bertram opens the box in the storage room, when he lifts out the straw-like packaging first, i think you can see that buried in the straw packaging, there is RJ's signature knife (the weird shaped one RJ is seen holding in many scenes).

so yeah I guess thats why I think it's Thomas McAllister

Also, does anyone have a theory for why there are pigeons emphasised in loads of scenes (the scene in the house where partridge was found dead, in the promo for 6x08 on the angel made of stone in the church and various other scenes)

This is probably all wrong but thank you for reading and feel free to comment! :)

Remember the photo we saw last week of Smith being "killed" by the cop? Shows do this all the time, especially in promos. In the promo this week, we see someone crashing through the glass and it looks like McAllister when we see the stills. Either it is McAllister and they want us to think we guessed "oh that must be RJ" because he's in the promo as a rouse.

It could also be that they thought that even if we captured a still, we wouldn't be able to tell it's McAllister because his head is down.

If it is McAllister in the still, it only means he is not dead and that he MIGHT be RJ. It could also mean that he is alive and someone else from the house is also alive and either he or that other guy is RJ.

Bertram is on the run because he was found out, not because he is RJ. Would RJ sneak in and kill PJ while he's unconscious? No way. We know for certain that RJ is not Smith or Bertram. That means if the list of 7 is true, it has to be one of the dead people.

Am I the only one that noticed there's a leak in the CBI?

On two separate occasions in episode 6x7, that Sac PD guy mentioned that his "informant/source inside CBI" provided details asto 1) Rigsby and van Pelt en route to the doctor's office where Smith was being held, and 2) that CBI officers were en route to pick up Smith in the alley. We know the leak isn't Bertram, since he told Bertram about Smith in the alley, so it's gotta be someone we don't expect. I'm guessing that his informant is the guy/gal who's been feeding information to Red John since the beginning. It doesn't have to be a Blake Association member, but Lisbon, van Pelt, and CBI Ron come to mind.

We learned from Smith last night that the Blake Association helps you when you need it most, and a payback of services is offered in return. I recall a couple weeks back the Sac PD guy brought the Kirkland forensics report to Rigsby, and before he left said, "Hey, maybe someday you can do something for me." I'm not pointing any fingers at Rigsby cause I think he's clean, but that sure sounds like the offerings of the Blake Association to me. I don't know why I didn't pick up on it earlier. Such a subtle hint. I wonder how many other people inside CBI have been coerced in the same manner...

I saw the promo and my money is still on Haffner. As many have pointed out, CBS is not going to show the actual Red John in any portion of any promo. Like Jane has said before, we (as viewers) are missing something. Did Jane shoot McAllister and that's why he has the wound in the promo? Is Bertram actually Red John's right hand man? Is Michael Kirkland actually Red John, who turned to Visualize for support and became a different person?

All I ask for is an explaination and a good twist that makes sense and ties up the loose ends. Too many unanswered questions right now.

Actually, MICHAEL Kirkland.  He's the thing.  The person we've been lead to believe is Robert Kirkland is actually Michael Kirkland.

We know when Michael was "Killed," he was shot by a known Tyger Tyger Head Guy, Reede Smith.  The chain of Custody was him and the driver, another TT member.

We know from "Bob" Kirkland told Jane that his brother got involved with Red John and he presumed killed him.  That is why Kirkland supposedly got involve in the hunt for RJ.

Instead, RJ has been keeping his innocent brother in captivity all these years.  Using BK's credentials and avenging his murder as motive he packed every background check, where MK certainly could not.

Also, why was TT so intent on killing Reede Smith?  Because he's the only person on Earth that knows "Bob" is really Michael and switched the bodies to the freshly shot real Bob Kirkland, who would then be positively identified and buried with the CORRECT name on the grave.

When Kirkland was set to torture Jane, Jane knew he was Red John.  But also he knew that if he accused him or let on that he knew, RJ would kill him on the spot.  He has to convince Kirkland that he had been eliminated as a suspect in his mind.  He also figured out that it was actually Michael because it was Michael's Property.

Why was RJ killing fake RJs?    RJ gave him the List of 7.  He's obviously trying to force Jane and the CBI to eliminate suspects until they are down to his chosen Patsy, Bertram.  Jane and RJ know that accusing the head of the CBI will cause the Feds to rain hell on the CBI.  That's why Jane goes with the plan and makes the big, public announcement.

How was it that Bertram was the only one to escape the blast unscathed?  Because he knew it was coming.  RJ set it up.  When Jane took out the shotgun, he was doing what RJ wanted him to do, kill the last remaining RJ suspects like Kirkland was supposedly doing.  So after Jane shoots Smith with a flesh wound, RJ or Bertram detonates the bomb, making sure all the other suspects are dead, except he loses Smith.  He nearly kills Jane, which would put the CBI on a wild goose chase forever, attacking itself.

I think both theories for mcallister and patridge are the best choices and the most plausible for the plot. But if in the end mcallister is red john it will bump me the fact that the gave it away with the 6x8 promo.

PLEASE TELL ME ITS NOT BETRAM. IF ITS MCALLISTER I WILL ALSO RAGE. IF HE CAN FAKE DEATH WHY CANT KIRKLAND OR PATRIDGE FAKE DEATH TOO? THIS KIND OF CHEAP TRICK BETTER COME WITH AN EXPLAINATION THAT IS WORTH IT.

I suspect its Kirkland twin somehow.. Probably patridge or worst come to worst Mcallister abd Haffner. The rest cannot make it (CMI) I have read theories given in this website and all of it is thinking too far fetch where the actual fact is that it's just a simple and basic plot from Heller that is going with the flow. Bomb>died>killed. He is removing all suspects to make us doubt our suspicion. There was no any 'thinking out of the box' theories that came from the website that its actually correct. This show is as simple as it could be. I hope the next episode was better than I anticipated. The tvline.com has already view the last episode and told us that it was unexpected and better.
