WONDERING if DRUGS are used to render subjects highly suggestive to HYPNOSIS [as drugs have been a recurring theme on the show since the beginning, along with hypnosis]

Just saw a Charlie Chan movie "Black Magic" [from 1944] It involved seances, speaking to the dead, magician's tricks, Charlie Chan making jokes that's he's "psychic" -- and a master hypnotist/magician who turns out to be the killer

Backstory is: hypnotist found his wife was running away with his assistant -- so hypnotist faked his own death but really got plastic surgery to change his look, coming back to befriend his former wife and assistant -- then exacting revenge and killing them both

Hypnotist put a witness into a trance -- rendering her unable to speak [as she held an important clue] until Charlie snapped her out of it -- though she couldn't remember after that, and

Hypnotist put ex wife into a trance, making her jump off a building

Charlie Chan figures out that the secret to the hypnotist's success was that he used a DRUG that would render the person highly suggestible to hypnosis -- getting them to do whatever he wanted

So out of curiosity, I decided to google this and see if there were such a drug that could be used for mind control [not that a TV show would need to use something that really exists]

But it turns out there IS a drug called the "Devil's Breath" that is easily administered by powder and liquid, put into someone's drink or blown into their face in a second.   A few minutes later, subject is awake and alert but THEY HAVE NO FREE WILL and are totally helpless to other's suggestions.  Others have complete control over "an unwilling participant."  After it's over, it CAUSES COMPLETE AMNESIA.  [it has been around forever -- we haven't heard about it because the US gov't has been using for a long time]  CRAZY!!

Pretty scary actually.  Readily available in Columbia.

There will be more revealed since we have Promo images from "Fire and Brimstone" where PJ has the three suspects with tattoo separated to a wall prior to the bombing and he looks surprised over his shoulder. Something happened by the other suspects and the scene was shot: http://www.razorfine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/the-mentalist-fire-and-brimstone.jpg let's wait and see.

I am finally out of clues and things to say. This site is going strong and i think thats the biggest evidence yet.

The show just had a huge cliffhanger
-this new list will unravel an enormous ball of bloody yard.
-new Ba members who were too smart to get caught.
Possibly high ups in the fbi
-visualize will have to be spoken about.
Van pelt and rigsby will be killed but by who?
I think it will be more deep than simply being on that list like ardilled
-Lisbon will raise hell
-cho will tackle someone
-the show has been so silent about the past and that will have to change

I want to make an observation regarding the fans and the style of the show.  Many theories over the years have been well thought out and at times, very complex.  People have pointed out specific details whilst making incredible connections.  A lot of us Mentalist fans take things very literally.  For instance, when Patrick said he would cut Red John up when he found him, we truly believed that is how Red John would be taken down.   Or that the "He is Mar" clue has real significance.  There are also numerous others examples that I'm sure you can think of, if you follow what I'm saying.  We want things to make sense and fit together like a puzzle.  We want to think the story was mapped out from the begging and stays logical.  And yes, the writers do owe us that, to some extent.

However, the style of the Mentalist isn't really designed to cater to us die-hard fans (a minority).  It is more about appealing the masses.  Some television shows are serialized heavily.  The Mentalist is not one of them.  Many of the episodes are standalone.  With these episodes, a person could miss watching it and watch the next episode without confusion.  As much as we want the Mentalist to be plot-driven, it has never really been that way from the start.  The back story of the Mentalist is Red John, but it isn't like every episode is about Jane getting closer to finding Red John.  The show is about Patrick being a "Mentalist" and solving murders.  The series is based on that procedural structure.  I will say that Season 6 has been the most serialized season so far though.  But more often than not, an episode has no bearing on the overarching plot of Red John.

My point is that some of us (including me) want every detail to connect from one episode to the next, but the Mentalist has never been that kind of show.  There are some tv series like that, but not many.  Those kinds of detailed plots work better in books, so tv producers aren't as apt to try it.  And with that I quote an interview with Heller and Baker (especially the bold):
"How much Red John will we hear about, in the future, or have you entirely moved on now?
Heller:  We won’t be going back.  One of the things that you discover when these figures of great evil are unmasked, in real life, is that once the curtain is pulled back from these evil Wizard of Oz characters, they tend to be not very interesting dinner companions.  They tend to be egomaniacal, one-track-mind type of guys.  There are a lot of questions about motivation, and what he was doing when and how, and how that connects to other things.  That makes great internet fodder, but it’s not very entertaining for the weekly TV audience, so there won’t be much of that.  Even though some people would love to delve into that, it’s not what the show does, on a weekly basis."

So yes, we want answers to some questions, and yes, we even deserve answers to some questions. But then we are asking The Mentalist to be something it is not.

Funny that visualize has a class on patrick jane ! Obsessed much?
Many people seek revenge its a natural human emotion.
Sometime i get the feeling Styles is just a figurehead of Visualize and that there are more powerful people behind him.

At the visualize farm we know from "Red Barn",  two red headed women kill a member of Visualize.  According to the killer's story, her mother was being attacked.  The daughter killed a man, in self defense.  Mysteriously another murder was occuring; in fact, two murders were supposedly happening.
I suspect that there were no other murders happening.  McAllister was called in as a friend by the mother of the shooter.  She needed police assistance.  She didn't want her daughter to go to jail, so she gets McAllister to help her out.  McAllister might be her ex-boyfriend or the girl's father.

McAllister shows up and gets rid of any witnesses.  However, one witness escapes (mysteriously).  Only people familiar with the farm knew about the underground room.  The mother knew about the room, and we know she did.  In the story, the daughter reveals that her mother knew about the room - since she had been out there (before).

In order to track down this alleged witness, McAllister left an ensign.  He draws a smiley face in blood to make a trademark.  He plans on getting some publicity, so he can intercept the witness.  If the story got to the press, the surviving witness could come forward.  When he or she came forward, McAllister would be able to intercept the witness.  He would use his police badge to get information from other officers.

Since the attempt was unsuccessful, he needed to murder again.  He planned on luring out that witness, because he didn't want to be blackmailed nor arrested.  Truthfully, Visualize could have been blackmailing McAllister, but it is unlikely.  More murders meant the surviving witness could come forward, and he or she could solve the case.  More murders were a way for Red John/McAlister to try to get info about the surviving witness to his murders.

The reason for the victims being red headed is simple.  The girl who did the original murder was red headed, and her mother was red headed (or are red headed).  McAllister wanted to stimulate the witnesses memory of the events from that night, so they would come forward with his or her testimony - which could put McAllister in prison.

If Mcallister did get backmailed, the blake association could be a group of police officers being blackmailed.  McAllister could be a "drop", in the bucket.  However, there aren't a lot of criminal law enforcement, even though the B A  is a large organization.  It seems unlikely that many police would be a part of it, but they could be bribed.  Timothy Carter had a "slave" locked up, in his basement.  If she was pimped out to politicians, judges, police, or FBI , those "johns" could be blackmailed.  Red John might be a name chosen for being one of many "johns".
