SHAZAM!! KIRKLAND IS DOWN SIR!!
Red John's Last Murder.
I know this is a bit Off Topic, but I've been seeing this for the last three or so seasons.
There has been a fundemental PROBLEM with "The Mentalist" from its start that Bruno Heller has always faced. "What happens when Red John is CAUGHT." For Jane, his work with the CBI is OVER. He's avenged his Family. His work is DONE. That, seemingly CONCLUDES the Series. That's why BH has teased us so miserably the last 5 years with Finales hinting at Red John's end with increasingly preposterous endings.
And I sussed out a way for the series to continue on after Red John's demise. And you're not going to like it.
What is Red John's relationship with Patrick Jane? Why doesn't he simply MURDER his biggest and cleverest foe or mow down his CBI team to force Jane to give up? Why would he have his knife at Lisbon's neck and not kill her? If he wanted to discourage Jane from pursuing him, why doesn't he just mow down Lisbon's team?
Red John has been grooming Jane as his SUCCESSOR. He smells Jane's cold-blooded Sociopathy and actively wants to groom Jane as his successor. So that if he is caught and killed, Jane will continue his legacy so that even in Death, Red John will always live on!
Jane is key to his immortality. Not his weak-minded Cult, but someone truly capable of taking on his mantle. That's why Red John has spared Jane's Death so many times. RJ wants Jane to be GRATEFUL to RJ and the only person RJ trusts to perpetuate his legacy.
Jane has been too strong. He hasn't fallen for any of RJ's tricks. I think Red John has given up on Jane. He wants someone NEW to GROOM. And that person is WAYNE RIGSBY.
RJ wanted to groom Jane into a cold, Sociopathic Killer like himself. He has FAILED. I think RJ has given up on Jane and moved on to Plan B. He accepts that Jane will eventually hunt him down and kill him.
Jane was too strong to fall for RJ's manipulative tricks. But he sees EASY PREY in Rigsby. Rigsby's a Hot Head.
This is my vision of RJ's REVENGE against Jane: When Jane has RJ finally hunted down, RJ will intruct his Cult to HUNT DOWN and KILL GRACE and Rigsby's SON. Red John's final murder. Let Rigsby feel the pain that Jane had felt.
Red John couldn't convert Jane into his chosen successor. Red John LOST. In his place, his Cult of devotees and wannabes turn to absolute CHAOS, with Rigsby wanting to go MEDIEVAL against anything smelling vaguely of Red John. Red John rules beyond the Grave by the swath of Chaos left behind in his Wake. Disciples and Wannabes war against Law Enforcement that just wants to smack down anything vaguely Red John.
Cut off the Head of the Hydra and only more problems emerge.
I think the lady is red john.

I am not saying that the lady is brett partridge, (even though the jewelry matches brett to the lady) because i am almost 100 % sure that he is dead, But that doesn't exclude the fact that the lady with the pigeons is red john.
It fits, she (he) could hear everything jane was saying to lisbon, and the lady looks scary as fuck, giving me nightmares. I think the lady is red john dressed up with a RED wig and a mask. There were many close ups in the scene on the lady, that can't be a coincidence. BTW maybe Bruno Heller thought that Partridge was red john from the beginning, but then he saw all the theories against partridge, and he changed the script, just to keep things interesting. It is no coincidence that the #1 suspect was killed in the first episode. This was all thought trough. And if you look closely to the lady, you can see its a mask that she is wearing. ( not 100% sure again, but it looks sillicone )
Thanks for reading, if you have any comments please let me know!
Does someone has noticed that the knife of RedJohn by its form could correspond to a hunting knife, more precisely a knife to carve the animals, and we learn that Tom McAllister was a hunter (if he tells the truth)..But as usual it doesn't mean anything and we can find this clue a bit too easy..We as viewers have already seen this knife several times, but not the protagonists, or...yes maybe Jane in the S02 finale when he met masked RedJohn. So if RedJohn is aware that Jane has already seen his particular knife, he probably be more prudent and don't tell him he was a hunter to prevent Jane think of a potential link...
everyone think that RJ is a stranger man,but what if he isn't?all the suspects on the list have a stranger behavior or a stranger voice or something else, guess who doesen't?Ron..
So after all, 6x03 was pretty fruitless regarding valuable RJ clues.
The writers have been playing with us a bit concerning McAllister, twice avoiding height then saving PJ on the roof top. Then the bird scene, however with a totally normal reaction to a bird coming out of nowhere and flying into his face – no phobia implied here. (Also, he is calming down way to quickly for a phobic.)
The only real clue is McAllister pulling up PJ with his left hand. So we now know McAllister is left-handed. This does not make him RJ though ;)
Each chapter focuses on a suspect. The first was Partdige, in the third episode the Sherif and the next will be Kirkland and Smith. So, I guess, Bruno Heller will leave the better suspects for the last chapters. Then RJ should be:
Bret Stiles, Ray Haffner or Gale Bertram.
