Ok, I played it dirty. Every non-regular cast member get signed in the show for a determined amount of episodes right? I'm doing it really dirty.
This is. The last appearence of Gale Bertram for Season Six in on the episode "Red John".
Clues or not. He is Red John. Get over with it. I know I ruined the show for everyone so you didn't have to read... Sorry guys.

Oh my God I keep changing my mind I have not got a clue who is it but I'm thinking Bertram for sure now. These are the reasons. The clues we are getting aren't reliable, what is reliable is what came from the directs mouth and what we have seen ourselves. Gale wears a wedding ring which we see on red john siping tea. He was very close to partridge murder scene he was there very quickly. When the three tyger tyger members were in the room and PJ came in and told them that he had a clue on RJ. Betram was behaving odd in front of Reese and. The others. He wanted to discuss red john in private ... why. His comment about being many things to many people. Might have meant he is apart of the tyger tiger group but also is red john and maybe the tyger tyger group don't know about him or maybe they do. The poem and connections.

Did you recognize, that currently the Theorycounts have a linear trend from the right to the left down.
Patridge has the most and Reede the fewest.
Is that a clue? o.O

P.S. But I'm sure, McAllister will pass Bret stiles within at least two days ;)

I have posted I think it's Michael Kirkland but I enjoy reading everyone's theories. I did rewatch the episode where Kristina is kidnapped and it was interesting to think maybe it's her. Here is why:
1) her comment to the waiter about roll tide.
2) what seems to be a physic ability (RJ knows janes intimate memories and knows the list)
3) she goes on a talk show and does exactly what Jane did
4) she escapes van pelt (which could mean van pelt works for tyger association or RJ)
5) she lives and then we never really see much of her later on
6) how she challenges jane and seems very clever
7) if you watch when RJ saves jane it looks like a woman in the black clothing and boots. Plus the voice sounds like Christina's but recorded up until the moment RJ struggles to put jane upright in the chair and then whispers in his ear. Then the voice is different. Plus if you look it looks like a woman pulling the chair upright.

What if Kristina is able to gain the trust of people by using her psychic abilities and womanly wiles to make the RJ helpers trust her. What if she gives them physic readings and then convince them to help if she gives the more info.

Just an idea. One that I'd throw out there to see what everyone thinks. I'm still convinced though it has to be a twin or twin personality due to the double word play of the poem tyger tyger.

Keep the ideas coming! This site makes watching the show I've enjoyed for years even more fun with this "interactive" quality!

It's Patrick Jane under the influence of Bret Stiles.  The show is called the "Mentalist" which revolves around hypnosis and keen observations to a persons behavior...
1.  Jane has proven to already have been mentally unstable (had a breakdown)
2.  Red John is afraid of heights, Jane was "bitchin up" when he was on the church roof
3.  Bret Stiles seems to always know when Red John is about to strike/has stricken
4.  The bloody smiley face has Jane's eyes
5.  If it's anyone else, I've wasted six (6) years of my life

I'm would guess that Red John isn't on the list, it would be too easy too little of a reveal.  My money is on Laroche for a couple of reasons,

* If I was the director I would want to introduce the Red John casually on the show pretty early, around season 1
2-3 to make it a big reveal later on, LaRoche was introduced in season 3, so that fits

* You'd assume that the actor cast as Red John would have to be someone who could really pull off the gravitas of a serial killer mastermind. Only Laroche and possible Kirkland,Bret Stiles really comes to mind. But if I would cast the most wicked actor possible for the role it would sure be Pruitt Taylor Vince, those twitchy eyes are just down right creepy and he played the role very well before (in for instance Identity)

* It can't be someone on the team, that would just be stupid. I have a heard time seeing Van Pelt gave the time to run around working as a police *and* being a criminal mastermind

* Works for law enforcement so he has knowledge and insider information

* Ok this one is iffy, but Roche means "is celtic for uncertain origin" and French for "rock" it also seems to have something to do with red wine, I wouldn't be surprised if the name LaRoche is some clever play of words with Red John.

Runner up for me would have to be Bret Stiles, as a leader of Visualize he sure has the resources, has the age, the gravitas and one of the few who can give Jane's wit a run for his money.
