RJ leads PJ
Since PJ follows clues RJ's partners gave him, he he should know that those clues lead him to where RJ wants to PJ reach. If PJ believes these clues lead him to directly RJ than RJ is right. PJ is not as smarter as he thinks. Also it will be a shame for this serie, being a second "lost" case, in my opinion.

Lets look on the bright side.
PJ is just pretending this list contains a "RJ". He needs to solve first what RJ wants from PJ. At the result point there are very few options wait us and PJ.

1) Tiger-Tiger vs. RJ : If there is a "war" between these two forces, PJ may want to heat up this "war". Eventually one of these forces will reveal itself. Or they lose too much power in this war. Either of two ways, it gets easier to reach RJ.

2) Tiger-Tiger hand to hand RJ : There are three options in this situation.
a) Partnership between these two forces
If two forces in a mutual relationship, why RJ wants PJ reach the Tiger-Tiger? It is meaningless? So there must be a conflict.
b) RJ is head of the Tiger-Tiger : May be RJ is head of the Tiger-Tiger. We know this organisation contains goverment people. So RJ must be a goverment people. In every kingdom there are plenty of forces wants to crown. This may be the reason why RJ led PJ to Tiger-Tiger.
c) Someone else is head of the Tiger-Tiger : Maybe RJ want that crown for himself?
d) Or another reason which fits the other 3 options. RJ wants to abolish Tiger-Tiger.

In four way RJ may need PJ's help of to reveal Tiger-Tiger organisation in public.

Lets examine current list.

Brett Partridge : Too tall, dead. Who sang the Tiger-Tiger poem to PJ.
Ray Haffner : Too tall, long hair. Not bright as RJ. Also a little bit coward.
Bob Kirkland : Dead, too excited.
Gale Bertram : Tallest man on the list, also bald, old.
Thomas McAllister : Moustache, old, distinct accent and voice. Harker should heve point these
Reede Smith : Fat. Harker should point this
Bret Stiles : Old. Harker should point this

Lisbon is the key
I know this will looks irrelevant but please pay attention something about Lisbon.
Before that, please answer this question to yourselves. How many times you knock a door? I think many of you going to say 4. A little part going to say 2-3. Too little part of you going to say 5.
Lisbon knock 7 times everytime. Why? Is it a clue? Why RJ didnt kill her? Why the list contains 7 people?

I know this sounds crazy but hear me out. She started the same day jane did. Shook his hand and later called him a sad godless man. She may be red johns daughter or he had a sex change since he is a little crazy. Grace had dated two killers thus far. Bad luck? She is savvy with computers and red john always hacks only her computer! The show seems to show her facial expression more than others and we know how important they are in this show. Especially the time jane is crying and she is smiling. She is into the occult and doesnt believe in jane. We know nothing of her past and if you notice there is something bothering her this season. You can read it on her face when she meets with styles. When rigsby says i love u she replies " i know". Van pelt red john. Red hair . Access to jane and cbi. I also have a hunch that jane knows she is red john and made the list to trick her. Telling lisbon knowing well she would tell van pelt. He is playing chess and winning. Red john wants to take out the tiger tiger people thus why patrick is using them to make the TIGRESS come out of her den and reveal herself. Its a twist and this show is known for them. Watch episode one season 1 and tell me what you think? I also have a theory styles is both her and janes father and why patrick tells styles " i am not your boy".

Fully agree with the peoples who think Red John already dead. In the following episodes the Tiger-tiger clan will be unveild and with this Red John will be named.
My guess is Bob Kirkland
Red John and the Tiger-tiger clan are enemies for each other and both wants to kill other they but don't know the others and don't know the persons
The only two person who had known the names are Patrick and Lorelai.
Since Lorelai knew she's sister was killed by Red John she also wants RJ death and getting contacts with the Tiger-tiger clan. But before she died left the message to Patrick with the 7 names.

In the episodes when Patrick was tortured by Kirkland wants to know the other names because RJ want to unveil the Tiger-tiger clan and murder all persons in the group.
Maybe RJ not as bad as we think he just killing the guilty person and the member of Tiger-tiger clan are the real criminalists.

Until the end of the season Patrick position will be changed from chaser to pursued.
The tiger-tiger clan want's Patrick death to avoid the unveil of the officers in high position.

And one other reason why Kirkland is RJ. Just have a look on the symbol and the face of Kirkland
FULLY MATCH.

I think one of Jane's team is in Tyger tyger. Probably Cho. He feeds info to RJ

has short straight hair (as described by Rosalind Harker)(assuming their
current hair)

Reed (though Kirk is sort of fluffy styled and Reeds is more buzzed)

Homeland agent seems unlikely it wouldnt be traceable). Haffner (is in
vizualize, age appropriate, could have a fuzzy resume 20yrs back)

have a history that would have acceptable gaps in it or would indicate they
were working at a farm at a time when they would have to be building their
current career).

has moments where he is meant to be charismatic or appealing ..press
conferences..and he does OK at it but not phenomenal).

Someone pointed out: "I wonder why
the two of you didn't become lifelong friends
the moment you shook hands." To me this implies they shook hands
a long time ago

Likeliest-
Hafner and Kirkland and McAllister (They both seem as if PJ could have met them
20 yrs ago..except McAllister... at a carnival or something as teens and look a
lot different to PJ now. McAllister could have crossed paths with PJ years ago
without mustache etc... He also seems to have quite a familiarity to PJ in how
he interacts with him, suggesting a lengthier familiarity/comfort than we see
on the show )

Reed (maybe he didn't weigh 800 pounds many years ago)

- Bertram/Stiles (No way PJ doesn't also consider the "shook hands a long
time ago" idea and realize that Gale and Stiles would likely not be so
dramatically different physically from a recognizability standpoint than 20 or
30 years ago)

Actor
remarks in TV guide "Last thing I ever expected." This is all on me,
but I assume this to be a less known less worked actor and someone who has not
been as active on the show or as "obvious" a choice.

Likely -
Haffner and Kirkland (not well known, joined show late, and really appears
written as a red herring after thought. Kirkland also drops to the unlikely
list, as he sounds creepy like C.Walken and therefore might not be a surprise
that he is a villain). Partridge (was killed off, not well known actor). Reed Smith (the unlikeliest on everyone's
list)

Unlikely -
Bertram and Stiles (McDowell is a great actor and around forever with many
iconic roles, seems an unlikely statement unless being humble. The actor who plays
Bertram has been around forever and has a few well recognized roles elsewhere).

PJ in TV
Guide interview "where they could be alone"...to kill RJ..and from TV
guide "his character, one of the seven."

Likely -
Any single one of the 7 (including Bob/Mike Kirkland) on the list except
Partridge. I like the idea of Brett being RJ and being killed by the Tyger
Tyger, but that is now unlikely. We know he's dead. Kirkland may have faked his
death or one of the Kirklands is dead and one is alive.

Unlikely -
Partridge (obviously), The idea of Red John as a group of many ("where
they could be alone" implies PJ and one other)

Also TV
Guide spoilers may not be that at all. They could be from a dream someone has
in the next episode, or anything else. I'd like to think the stills/photos
approved for TV Guide would not be signed-off on if they revealed anything
other than mis-direction.

I still
have no idea who I really think is RJ but the actors I can most see PJ
straddling and looking into the eyes of before killing him is in order

The only two suspects from Jane's list to appear in the episode Red John are the actors for Bertram and Smith.

Now unless they will hide the actor who plays Red John's name from the credits, then it could be basically anyone else.

But I read somewhere that the actor who plays Red John has stated that he thought he was a Red Herring and that he was in fact on the list.

Personally I really really hope he isn't on the list because it will be pretty anti-climactic.

Now if it is either Smith or Bertram, I'd opt for Smith simply for the reason that Bertram could not be Red John after the stunt that Jane pulled in Strawberries and Cream otherwise Bertram having concerted with his accomplice would not send his killer into the trap. Especially not to the room number he himself was given.

Smith is also, I think, a poor choice for Red John. There is no reason to exclude him though other that the fact the he is not old enough to have been the person drawing the smiley face after the killings at the visualize barn in 1988 (he would've been 12). But he is still more likely than Bertram to me.
